If I could give zero stars I would...listen to this experience...truly unbelievable...but 100%…read moretrue. I want to share our experience at Mavis Discount Tire so others are aware. My husband brought our car in for two front tires. We paid $330 and received a receipt claiming the tires had been replaced. This is what took place:: * Employee took our car for over an hour without permission. The manager at the shop had no idea where our vehicle was and he called the police assuming it had been stolen. This is after he said our car was "all set" and my husband paid for the work. * the employee returned to the shop with our car (about the same time the police arrived), saying he had taken it for a test drive. This is completely BS because he was gone for more than an hour and racked up ~30 miles on the odometer. - the employee also smoked in the vehicle which left an odor of smoke and ashes on the dashboard. (We are not smokers and our vehicle has never been smoked in). - when my husband got home with our vehicle and parked it, he realized that the tires on the car were still our old tires. They never even c did the work we paid for!! * And...the icing on the cake...the Receipt my husband got after paying for the work that was never done, listed our odometer reading as 28,000 miles, while the car actually has 57,000+ miles! So...if we had actually gotten the new tires, the tire warranty of 65,000 miles would look to have 30,000 miles already on it when we left the parking lot! We seriously could not have made up an experience as bad as this! We ultimately received a full refund for what we paid but we highly advise against going to this establishment or any Mavis in the area as the REGIONAL manager did not seem to take this matter seriously. In fact, he told us the employee that took our vehicle for a 30 mile joyride was "reprimanded " but not fired.

They rotated my winter tires instead. People make mistakes, so when I finally had some time, I brought the car back. I agreed to come back and get the car when they called. The guy who waited on me said they were busy, even though there was only one car in the garage. I assumed it would be a few hours, so I took a walk and went grocery shopping. Two hours later my car was still sitting untouched in the parking lot. The garage was empty. Two staff members were out back admiring someone's sports car, and the third was sitting on his phone inside. I asked for my fob, and they initially couldn't find it. The woman on shift got a little snarky, and insisted I didn't give it to them. A few minutes later they found it and I left. It appears that they forgot about me this time. That was my last time at Mavis. My experience has been nothing but a frustrating waste of time. I expect I'll get the same copy/paste response everyone below has gotten asking me to call. No thank you.

This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing service experiences I have ever had…read morewith an auto repair shop. The primary issue was not simply the delay in repairs, but the consistent lack of communication and professionalism throughout the entire process. The repair itself was straightforward: replacement of the top piece of the GMC tailgate and the bed cover. I was initially told the work would take three to four days. Instead, the repair took two weeks and four days to complete. During that time, I received no proactive communication from your shop. The only updates I received were when I called after promised completion dates had already passed. I later learned that the same part had been delivered incorrectly twice. Even then, I was not informed directly. Communication only occurred after the regional All-State liaison intervened and threatened to escalate the matter. Until that point, no one from your shop contacted me, despite assurances that updates would be provided. I was also told that the shop had called me previously, which is simply untrue. I did not receive a single call. After a week and a half without updates, All-State contacted me because your shop had not entered any progress into their system. The only communication I received from your team came on the final day, when I was told the part had arrived and the truck would be ready that afternoon. This lack of communication had real consequences. Had I been informed earlier that the bed cover was the only remaining issue, I could have taken my truck back temporarily and avoided approximately $450 in rental car costs. There were additional missed opportunities to provide competent service. I requested that the vehicle be inspected and was later told it could not pass inspection due to an oxygen sensor error. While the truck was already sitting at your facility waiting for the bed cover, the inspection could have been performed and the issue identified earlier, allowing service to be scheduled efficiently. The final interaction when picking up the truck reinforced my concerns about professionalism. I was told wiring to the rear light had been disconnected due to corrosion, which I understood. However, when I went outside to the vehicle alone, I found three wires hanging approximately seven inches below the bumper. When I returned inside to ask about it, I was told they were left hanging so I could see the corrosion. No one offered to walk out with me, explain the issue, or secure the wiring afterward. Instead, I had to secure the wires myself in the middle of winter. A simple explanation, demonstration, or even a photograph would have been more appropriate. My wife and I have purchased two vehicles from Hoselton in the past, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Unfortunately, the lack of communication, accountability, and basic service professionalism means we will not be returning as customers. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve communication standards and customer service procedures moving forward.

Due to the Pandemic, a few places had closed down. The car agency that was still active was Hoselton in Fairport. I called there and spoke to Therese. She explained that they were booked solid, and had absorbed other places business due to closing. I told her the Insurance company I deal with set a date (July 15th) to complete the inspection. She said she couldn't due it but told me to hang on. She shuffled some papers and appointments around and said the earliest she could do it was the 19th. I contacted my insurance company and applied for an extension, they granted it to me. I was pleased with Therese, she got me in and went through the procedure. Very polite and professional. She also works with a gentlemen by the name of Trevor who I spoke to also prior to my appointment. He was helpful also. The entire office was professional.
