I've given this Mavis location multiple chances over the years, and unfortunately the experience seems to be the same every single time. Whether I'm coming in for a state inspection or other service, there is almost always some type of issue. More than once, I've made an appointment ahead of time only to arrive and be told they either don't have my appointment in their system or seem completely unprepared for it. On top of that, the wait times are absolutely ridiculous. I've experienced waits of 5+ hours, even when there are little to no cars in the parking lot that would make you expect that kind of delay. The communication is poor, the staff comes across as very unprofessional, and the overall experience is frustrating from beginning to end. At this point, after repeatedly having the same problems year after year, I would highly recommend going somewhere else for your inspection or automotive work -- especially instead of this particular location. Appointments should actually mean something, and customers shouldn't have to plan on losing an entire day just to get basic service done. read more

I have read the reviews but in all honesty I have taken my 2018 CT6 Cadillac and 2021 Kia Telluride Nightfall to them with no issues so far. The staff is kind and even rotated my tired for free on my initial visit because my rotation was not done by Cadillac when the oil was changed. I did not have to spend a dollar for that service. I've had brakes and rotors completed on my Cadillac and tire work on the Nightfall. So far great work, must be a new team working now versus when the other reviews were made. read more

I would like to thank Carlos and his team for working on my vehicle. If I had went somewhere else I would have probably gotten scammed and wasted my time and money. They worked on my vehicle that I had no idea what the damage was for my rear driver side wheel. They had gotten somebody to do some work on my car that would have taken multiple steps to do in one shot and saved me a lot of money. They know what they are doing and are very professional. I was called to pick up my vehicle and they had stayed extra time to wait for me to pick it up even after they closed which I really appreciate; because the next time I would have been able to pick it up was two days later after thanksgiving. Took my cars for 4 new tires. The service was the service. I have 4 new tires.. However after getting home I realized that my stearing wheel and drivers door showed clear signs that dirty greasy hands touched my blonde leather. Luckily i was able to clean it off myself. Afterwards i realized they did not put any of my valve caps back on valve stems on all 4 wheels. My cars is a 2021 with less that 9000 miles. Its condition is just about perfect. Ill never go back!! The pictures dont show nearly the amount of grease that was left behind. I also feel a vibration like the tires werent balanced correctly. read more

We arrived at 4:30pm on Sunday, May 30th with a nail in one of our tires. This location is open till 5pm. We walked in and were told that they weren't working on any cars because the mechanics were working on their own vehicles. Huh? The location is open till 5pm, but they stop at 4:30p to work on their own cars? Knowing that the next day was a holiday, and no other places were open, it seems pretty low to turn away a customer who needed assistance, simply because you're working on your own cars on the clock. I wish I could essentially run my own errands while I'm getting paid for my 9-5. I understand getting there at 4:55pm and asking for service, but we got there at 4:30pm on the dot, asking for help as our tire was about to go out and the next day was a holiday when nothing would be open. read more

I was given an estimate, however, upon leaving, they tried to sneak around $150 extra on the bill. Then, four days later, charged $500 to my credit card for no reason. This is pure evil. Horrible customer service. Had gone in for inspection on a used car we just bought. Was told it needed rear brakes and shocks estimate of about $650.00. Needless to say, my car failed inspection. They guy at the desk said since I wasn't getting the work done there, that I had 7 days to return to verify work and get a sticker, and that I didn't need an appointment, it would only take 5 minutes. Took car to my mechanic in NJ and had the work done and was told brakes were not even half worn. Went back to Mavis to have work verified and get my sticker and was told it would take 3 hours that they had to completely redo the inspection and there was no way around it. I advised them of what I was told, and they said the other guy must of been wrong. They then said I could come back next week and do it, but that I would have to repay to have the inspection done and there was no way around it. I walked out. Worst experience at a car place ever!! I went in because at my last oil change, they didn't turn off the "change oil soon" light on the car. Of course, they insisted on doing their inspection. I was told that my brakes were at state minimum, and were dangerous to drive on. I told them to go ahead and do a brake job. I waited, and waited. 3 1/2 hours later, they told me that they didn't know how to do the brakes on my car, and didn't know what parts to order. It's a Jeep Cherokee, not exactly an exotic. However, they did PART of the work, and Frankensteined the brakes back together with a mix of old and new parts. They then told me I needed to immediately get to a place that knows how to do the brakes on my car, and have a brake job done. They charged me $400 for their time!!! Yup! $400 for a brake job, that they told me needed to be immediately redone. I complained. They got mad at me for complaining, and told me that I needed to just stop talking. Every time I opened my mouth, he'd tell me to stop talking. I finally said that I felt very unsafe. He told me he would lend me a car to drive since my own was unsafe! They made me pay to get my car back. The manager also wrote on the slip that he offered me a free brake job, but that's not remotely true. He told me they didn't know how to fix my brakes! But they made me sign it to get my car back. He kept blaming my car, saying it was somehow my car's fault that they ordered the wrong parts 3 times. It's a Jeep Cherokee! Not a Ferrari! Update: I told my car to the dealership the next morning. They assured me that my Jeep uses standard parts that can be bought anywhere. Also, there was no issue with my VIN, as Mavis said. Most importantly, my rear rotors were lightly worn, nowhere near needing replacement! Makes you wonder about the whole brake job.... read more

This is a criminal enterprise hiding behind a franchise. They damaged my car, destroyed the drivers side hub on a 135k bmw 7 series and said the car came into them like this. They scratched the powder coating off 3 of my rims as well. I took my car there for tire replacement. They cross threaded my hub and damaged 3 of the holes into the car. I tried to file an insurance claim against them, they didn't give me there insurance information and claimed no responsibility for the damages caused to my car which is only serviced by bmw. I contacted their corporate office and they have a loser that is their district manager who refused to assist me and denied any liability. The damages cost me $1300 to repair. Out of my pocket. NEVER GOTO THIS PLACE. They also rifled thru my car, my engine compartment and tossed my glove compartment and arm rests probably looking for drugs to use. I think only crackheads work here at this location. My headrest was filled with grease from the grease monkey who rifles thru my car as well. What a disgusting representation of Mavis. All in all. It cost me $2800 to change 4 tires at this criminal enterprise. Check other reviews. It seems like they do this same exact thing to everybody who trusts these losers with their vehicles. I am a loyal Jack Williams customer but they were packed this morning. I needed an oil change. I went it and waited at desk for 10 minutes until they noticed me standing there. Asked for oil change. Got a call from them with laundry list if things that were wrong. I said I just want the oil change, I get it ... JW does the same thing. However, the customer service is what keeps me loyal. I will pay for that - plus I trust Phil and the team there. This is my second time there and I really like the tires they put on. (I was here before when it had a different name). I have a Toyota Prius and winters here can be a challenge. I had the oil change service and learned today that the place I normally go to does not check brake fluid. Thanks for spotting that and knocking the price down a bit. It was a bit of a wait today (they were short for inspectors) and the restroom needs a repair but other than that I will continue to go here as they are competitive with tire prices. I get a call two days before the appointment telling me that i have to leave the car all day cause they have a lot of work. I usually try to avoid the chain stores for things that have to do with the tires on my car for a simple reason that most places can't balance the tire well enough to behave well on higher speeds but this place is run well and do great job including properly balancing tires. read more

Was charged 1.5hrs labor for a simple 30min hitch install as per u-haul. I would have been ok with 1hr even but the extra half hr is just a pure BS scam. Also trimmed my bumper although it was completely unnecessary. I would have gone to u-haul or other shops but I was in a pinch and they were the only ones that were available on a Sat. All other 3 shops I called were booked so my advice is to avoid this place unless you need something done ASAP. Just be prepared to get fleeced. read more
