They took advantage of my grandfather. They knew the car would need an alignment after the tires and double charged his for ANOTHER alignment after addressing another issue. They guys they have in the shop are extremely unqualified and I know this because I personally know them. Maybe they lied on an interview but just please go somewhere else. BEWAREAs the other reviews also state, these guys are a joke. If you bring your car in for anything, they're gonna go through the entire thing and look for another "problem". They replaced my rotors and brakes, which I had just replaced less than a month prior, and they did it without telling me and tried charging me for it when I showed up to pick up the car. The situation escalated and I spoke with a manager who had no idea what he was doing and wasn't even qualified to manage a McDonald's, never mind a tire shop. I've had consistently good service at Mavis. Was surprised to read a couple of the negative reviews as my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Last fall I went there to shop snow tires. I had narrowed my choices down after doing research online. Mike, the manager told me that he could certainly match the prices I had quoted from Tire Rack for the tires I selected, but then suggested I consider a tire that had equivalent ratings at a much lower price. I left, did additional research and returned to Mavis to purchase the suggested tires. Overall, Mike saved me close to a hundred dollars. I returned this past weekend, to see about making an appointment and purchasing new summer tires for my 4Runner. I related that I just had a terrible experience with Meineke up the road when I had made an appointment for brakes and waited 6 hours, returning to find NO work completed. They not only fit me in THAT day (which, BTW was a busy Saturday), but were able to complete the brake work I needed, mounted my new tires AND completed an oil change I asked to "tack on" and completed my overdue vehicle inspection. There was NO attempt to upsell me. (And like previous reviewer ME, I am a woman. I was never made to feel that I was disrespected or that they saw me a potential "sucker".) The work was completed in LESS time than they quoted (3.5 hours versus the promised 4+) and within the quoted price. I'm not sure what people expect - one reviewer complained about the price of tire mounting and balancing - but the priced he had quoted were from online retailers like Tire Rack and would incur the cost of mount balance additionally ANYWAY. As to the reviewer stating that they tried to "scare" her into additional services, I'm certain she would be the first to cry "I'm suing!", if they had let her leave without explaining the deficiencies in her vehicle. (There's certainly a liability issue if they DON'T tell you....) I'm a loyal customer and will return to Mavis Fishkill without question. read more

The worst!! These guys are crooks. If you want to spend 3 TIMES what other places charge (I was actually quoted over $900. for brake pads and rotors) go right ahead. If you're a female, they think you couldn't possibly understand what they're saying and will try to charge you extremely over-inflated prices because "it's a good deal". I'm changing shops...this Mavis is the best! They fitted me with great tires at a discount, also did a wheel alignment perfectly. We needed certain other things done but were uncertain whether to go with them or to our neighborhood shop. Since they beat 'our' shops price, we decided to use them for an axle replacement; great again and they had the best price on oil changes too! I had a shorter than expected wait time too. Service manager Dean is the best. He calls to make sure everything is ok after the work is done. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

TERRIBLE experience here! I went in to get my ac recharged and after waiting about 2 hours was told my ac compressor needed to be replaced for a whopping $800 dollars. They said they would order the part and to come in the following day when they open. I show up the next day- part is not in. They said they would call me. NEVER heard an update until I called back 3 days later and they told me 'nope still not in yet.' Bear in mind it's close to 90 degrees and no AC is not ok. I went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere - and the mechanic advised the compressor was LOOSE AND DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED. Ac is working just fine and $800 was not required to repair. By the way- NEVER heard back from the guys at this location about the part being delivered and now it's over 2 weeks. I think there needs to be a serious overhaul of diagnostic testing and those that work here- not ok. Mavis will NEVER get another single dollar from me in the future. read more

Worst service ever. Went for an inspection and took 2 hours with one car in bay. The guys working there sitting looking at their phones and eating lunch in plain view as I sit and wait for my, what should take 10 minute inspection. I asked how long it would take initially and he said eh not long only one car ahead of you. If I knew it would take 2 hours and make me late for work I would had waiting for another day. Oh yeah, they also put the wrong brake calipers on my gf's car which could had been catastrophic. A bunch of incompetent morons with piss poor attitudes work here. I was involved in a non-injury accident this weekend that completely destroyed my tire. I goggled tire companies near me and Mavis came up as being very near. Their service rep helped me locate a reliable tow service who delivered me and my car to Mavis two hours after my initial call. I hadn't provided my name or much information about the accident, yet I was greeted in the parking lot by Daren, a very knowledgeable and courteous technician. He asked specific questions that let me know he was expecting me just from my call. He assured me my car would be up and safely running on a new tire and wheel alignment within an hour or as close to that as possible. This was a busy Saturday afternoon so I wasn't holding my breath on the timeline. But I was pleasantly surprised and grateful when I was ready to roll in the time he promised. I never felt any pressure to decline an up sale for other services and drove away a newly satisfied Mavis customer. NOTE: my friend and i are in our 70s and I was concerned that we, as women, might somehow be patronized or taken advantage of with add-on fees or services. From the first call until we left, we were treated with courtesy and respect. We neither one live in Fishkill so everyone was a stranger to us, but I tip my hat to all the fine people who crossed our paths that day...Auto Tech towing and the very kind woman who went out of her way to buy us lunch, bring it to us and remain until the towing service arrived. BUYER BEWARE!: We found a slow leak in my girlfriends tire on Tuesday night so we put air in it and before work Wednesday she went to Mavis to get it repaired. When she arrived they put her car on the lift and started taking it apart, they came back and told her that her brakes and rotors needed to be changed, also that her struts are broken so bad they're barely holding together and that her battery needs to be changed as well. They took her to the car and showed her the struts falling apart, then back to the counter and kept telling her how urgent it is to do this work and they don't feel comfortable with her driving the vehicle. (Note: we changed the brakes and rotors recently) so she refused the work and the next day we took it to Honda to get looked over. Nothing was wrong with the car and the "struts" they showed her that we're falling apart weren't struts, it was the rubber cover on her shock that has nothing to do with the structure of the vehicle. Basically they saw a girl that might not know what's going on and tried to take her for a few hundred dollars in repairs she didn't need. AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

I've never had a problem here despite 2 years bringing 2 cars to them. Make an appointment, they get the work done in the time frame discussed. Whenever other issues come up, they take the time to bring me on the shop floor and show me what the issue is. Better, after visiting 3 other shops, including the dealership, with a suspected bad wheel bearing, they were the only ones who correctly diagnosed it. Prices are fair and the staff is great. On 10-06-19 around 6:00 pm which was a Sunday I went on the Mavis tire website to purchase tires. I saw the tires that fit my car with a price that I was more than happy to pay. I did this from my iPhone and made an appointment for 10-12-19 at 9:30 am which was for Saturday 6 days later. I received an email confirmation order #4211094 for 9:30 at the Mavis tire store. 774 Route9 in Fishkill ny. The next morning a woman from the Fishkill store called me to confirm and told me I was all set for Saturday Oct 12 at 9:30 in the Fishkill store. When I arrived on 10-12 at 9:15 I spoke to Darren who later I found out was the manager, he asked for my name and started typing on his computer for 10 minutes without saying a word and then said to me that only one of the tires I wanted was in the store and the other 3 had to be brought from another store and that it would be an hour and a half and he would call me when they arrived. This store lacked professionalism and customer service. If my set appointment was for 9:30 am and the order could not be fulfilled at that time a simple phone call to me stating "Mr. Ortiz, we regret to inform you we cannot fulfill your order at 9:30 am, the tires aren't in store yet, would you be able to come in at noon instead" I wouldn't have wasted my entire day off. It was 12:00 and no call so I drove to the store to talk to him. I get there around 12:15 and he tells me that 3 of the tires are the there that the last one was on it's way that he would start the installation while the 4th came. I showed them my appointment confirmation that I printed out stating the time of my appointment and received nothing but execuses from him and another gentleman who was behind the desk. Not once did anyone say I'm sorry for the delay, inconvenience. I told them I was not happy that the appointment confirmation was not followed and got excuse after excuse that the website and store do not communicate and that I should be happy that it was being taken care of 3 hours later and that my inconvenience meant nothing to them. When they said to me what I would like to happen I said maybe a discount for starters and the man behind the desk who I did not get his name said to me oh you just want them for free putting words in my mouth. I said of course I don't expect them for free. I was more than happy to pay for the price was quoted when I made my original appointment on 10-6-19. Both the manager and the other employe never apologized for any confusion or unprofessional attitude towards me. They were both very rude in my opinion and I will never go to that store again and I will make sure everyone within the sound of my voice and using social media as my tool to let more people never to go that store. What's most appalling is that the store manager didn't care to rectify the fact that they didn't honor the set appointment or have the tires in even though I scheduled this 6 days before, had a printed email confirmation and a member of their team had called me Monday oct 7 stating I was set and they'd be expecting me. They used to be decent, now they try every possible angle to scare you into a failure on inspection so they can sell repair work. When I was there I listened to the manager explain to a young couple that to mount the two tires they brought in, he would have to charge them $40 per tire to unmount the old tires, then $40 to mount the new tires. So, $160 to mount two tires. He obviously didn't want to help them because they didn't buy the tires at Mavis. So he gave them the "eff you" price. Thankfully they walked out. read more

Very bad experience. It took way longer and cost much more than expected. My car had to go back because they messed up fixing it. They made up a story to me thinking I don't know anything about cars. They left a cap on top of my engine - sloppy job. When I got my car back the brake light was on low tire pressure light was on and car was shaking. I will be filing a complaint. read more

I am so upset and disheartened by my experience at this Mavis location. I called ahead of time to let them know that I had a tire with a nail in it and wanted to see if they could patch it. They tell me "sure, no problem. We aren't busy right now if you'd like to bring it in." I bring my car in, there are 4 people in the waiting area but somehow 0 cars in the bays and I see 1 employee in the bay area. I wait for over 45 minutes before they even bring my car inside. Another 45 minutes later they come out and tell me "ok, you are all set." I am baffled. I ask what they did, was the tire repairable? They tell me no and they put a new tire on. So they have now put a new tire on my vehicle without my authorization and without my choosing the tire for my car. I tell them I would like to speak with a manager. A man comes out and "apologies" to me whilst stuffing his face with a sandwich. On a side note while I was there a friend of mine came in to have her brakes checked. They took her car for 5 minutes came back and handed her her keys. The employee didn't utter a single word to her. She asked if everything was good with her brakes- he nodded and kept walking. I have been going to mavis tire in fishkill for years now... Over the last couple of years I have noticed a big change in the way they do business and the over all quality of the product they sell. The last 2 times I went to mavis and had tires put on my vehicle the tires were defective... They all leaked air from the stems and the seams. I had to go back to them several times to have the leaks fixed because they couldn't do it right the first time on both cars... As a matter of fact I still have one tire on the back of my suburban that still leaks air and I got tired of going back so I just put air in it when the tire light comes on. Recently I just put 2 front tires on my daughters car and within days there was a huge bubble in the side of the tire and the car was barley driven... Upon bringing it back we were told that it was our problem because we didn't get the road hazard coverage for thier defective tire so we had to buy a whole new tire... The staff including the manager was rude and uncaring about the whole thing and treated it like a joke. I am done going to this location for tires or any other work... The absolute worst service on the planet they started off nice even gave me a ride home since I don't live very far Manager was very nice gave me a fair price dropped me at my house at 10:30 AM told me it would be about two hours I called him at 1:30 truck still wasn't done called him back again at 3:30 they were just changing the tires And then it was going to be on the alignment machine the simple solution was to take $60 off of my bill it is now 515 and the truck just arrived at my house with the tires on the black side instead of the white wall side that I asked for he said to me with a straight face we can take it back and switch them I laughed and told him I'll never return to that shop again he actually looks surprised thinking that the $60 discount was enough to buy back my business on top of that he couldn't produce any paperwork saying that the wheel alignment was done he said the printer was down and the computer doesn't save the data so I just have to take that word for it or wait until my tires wear. I have been to Mavis many a time and not been sad about the experience, until now...the prices are competitive, BUT I find at this site a prolonged wait no matter the time or whether an appointment has been made! I arrived with my convertible just for an inspection and was told a 2 hour wait...when asked how reasonable the offical wiat time was...I was then told "or longer". I opted to stay as this was my plan for the day (have to stick to the plan) and was PO'd when 2 different customers arrived and their cars were brought in BEFORE mine---bcuz they knew someone there. And yes they were also for inspections....when I inquired why, I was told they had called ahead...now if you've ever been there...there are no secrets when you approach the service desk, I was lied to and so out I went. Up RT9 to another Tire Center for swift courteous service...en route past Mavis one hour later (inspection completed) I noticed the 2 customers who had arrived there before me chatting in the parking lot on there cellies. That was 2 weeks ago----perhaps they are still waiting! On a previous experience I had had them do a front end alignment on my SUV. Ten weeks later my car was wobbling (you know @ 80mph) on the highway. I inspected the tires themselve and they appeared fine...so back to Mavis I went! I DID NOT tell them I had just been there and asked for them to inspect my alignment and BEHOLD it was way off! Yep, I NEEDED it taken care of fast~~~so, knowing they guaranteed the alignment for 3 months...I said "please do". After the car was aligned I was handed a bill for the full cost of another alignment...thats when I inqured as to the guarantee. The service clerk then offered me a discount on the alignment...how nice, except it was fully guranteed for 12 weeks! We had to dicker over the issue until I produced (you know the documentation that runneth over in the glovebox) the dated service report from the previous alignment and only then did he push 2 buttons on the computer system to acknowledge the guarantee! Don't like to be "slicked" by anyone! So now I will look more for service than price because my time and sanity is.........priceless! read more

Before the state mandated wearing mask I went here to have some tires put on my car. I have a medical condition which leaves me unable to wear a mask. I waited until the store was empty and then entered keeping six feet from the counter. I explained my situation and the person behind the counter was understanding. He got the info for my car and started the sale. Next thing I know Lerch from the garage who wasn't wearing a mask when I got there came out and told me I had to wear a mask or leave according to the boss. I explained to him that I couldn't wear one so what could we do to make this happen? Nothing was his answer and continued to tell me to get out. Didn't offer to do the transaction outside or over the phone he just kept telling me to get out. I called Fishkill tire explained my situation and they were nothing but accommodating and took care of everything over the phone. This is the third and last time I will go back to Mavis. Screw this place. This is my first review on here. I usually just use this site to see reviews but I have to write one about this place. I made an appointment the night before to get an alignment. When I got there in the morning I left the car with them and left for a few hours. The guy at the front desk called and said I needed brake pads. I was talked into getting an oil change and brake pads. Fine. You know these places, Upsell! Upsell! About 4 hours after that, I called to find out the status of my vehicle. They told me they tried to call me but "lost" my number. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, they didn't even do the alignment. Really?? These people don't listen, they are lazy, and couldn't care less about the customer. I'm furious. Thanks for wasting my entire day Mavis. My only day off. This time I was told like everything but the kitchen sink was wrong with my car. Literally tried telling me $900 worth of parts needed to be fixed. They completely suck. Would never use them again. After trying to get into a Mavis in my area, (I tried 4 other stores first) I called here to find out that even though they were as busy as the other stores they were more than willing to have me come by. I was told it would be a two hour wait (which I was fine with) and it was only about one. They fixed my tire and even checked to make sure it was successful. I was very happy with them! read more

Well, I went to Mavis tire in Fishkill, NY and wanted new brake pads on my car. I had my own parts. They estimated it would be 1 hr at 109/hr. The job took 21 minutes and they kept the car on the lift for 30 minutes to make it come out to an hour. I complained to the manager and he said "that's the price". I asked if there were any coupons to reduce the price and he said no, the bill is the coupon (meaning no coupon). When I got home I called another Mavis and they quoted $49 for the job. I called my CC company and disputed the charge. When I called customer service, they said I wouldn't get a penny back and they banned me from Mavis........ No more Mavis for me. read more

I got a flat tired on my way up to Fishkill for xmas and needed new tires altogether , so i decided to have them replace all 4 ( and not just the one that got a flat). Big mistake.Today I found at what a big mistake that was. Went to my local Mavis down here in Yonkers to get my tires rotated and found out, that one of the wheel studs on my front tire is broke and my tire can not be removed. It has to be replaced which means i have to come back and spent more time and money. I called the Mavis in Fishkill and asked for the manager - CJ picked up the phone and advised he is the manger. I told him what happened and he advised that I bought the tires 7 month ago ( i dont drive around a lot and even gave him my current milage for him to see for himself) and somebody else must have done something to my tires. What???? I dont go around from place to place and have mechanics work on my tires - why would i, i have free tire rotation thru Mavis because I got my tires there. I never go out of my way to complain as i own a business myself and understand that sometimes things take longer then expected. However, after seeing customer, after customer giving the front desk an attitude, plus my experience - I had to complain. Granted i did not make an appointment, but i got my tires sent there from tire rack. I showed up at 11:30 am. There were 2 other customers there. I didnt leave until 4:45. 5 hours to mount new tires and get an alignment. For the first 4 hours my car sat inside the shop with the hood open. They were just fishing every customer who came in there to get as much work as possible that day. I wouldnt have cared if they told me it was going to take 5 hours, but they didnt even offer me a time frame. The entire team seemed like a bunch of incompetent knuckle busters. read more
