May I just say the rudest people I ever meet!!!! I came in with my Lexus and ask to get a tire rotation. The guy who was helping named ricky was complete rude. He had a attitude and said " well it's gonna be a 2 hour wait so u can wait" so I brushed it off wait for a 1 hour 45mins and he comes up to me and says I need a whole new set of tires. So I called my grandfather to see if I should do it. My grandfather wanted a picture of the tires real quick. So I asked "Ricky" if I could or he could take a picture his response was " if that's the case I'll take the whole car down and you can take it to him so he can see it himself" rudely so I said take it down then. Completely rude !! They wanted money out of me that's why he was so rude about it. So I recommend to not come here ! They are rude, they will have you wait 2 hours to tell you stuff u don't need! Save your money and time somewhere else. Btw I will be contacting corporate ASAP! You just lost a valuable customer:). read more

I ordered my tires in advance AND made an appointment. It took three hours to have tires installed and an alignment. Turns out they didn't balance one of my front tires correctly and I went back there to have it checked. They told me there was a 2 hour wait for that as well. I won't ever be going back there. Addendum: Shortly after my poor experience at Mavis, I went to an independently owned tire shop, who checked the balance on my tires. They stated that every tire was out of balance, likely because my Ram 1500 rims were placed on the balancing machine with the rim facing in, which is incorrect. read more

Took my car here to get two tires. Got here at 3:45 and waited till about 5:30 before they even got my car on the lift! It's now 6:00 and my car still isn't done. Never coming back here again. It won't kill you to buy tires elsewhere. I recommend buying your tires from tire country in Riverhead.. I only came here because I was in a hurry. Never coming back here... Took my car here again to get new wheels balanced, first it took them over two hours just to get the car in the garage and they kept taking people before me even though I came in first. The employees in the garage all look like they're just standing about not really working. But the worst is when I finally go to leave and the wheel balance is so much worse than it was when I came in that I can't even take the car above 40 without it feeling like the wheel is about to fall off. I basically paid money to have my car messed up. I've learned my lesson and I'm never coming back. read more

Recently needed tires and Mavis's prices were competitive.After walking in the door I felt like I had been a customer for years. Gino and all of the men working there treated me with respect.They were thorough and friendly and explained everything they did before they did it and gave me a choice as to whether or not to do certain things to fit my budget.They were great and would recommend them to friends and family. read more

A vechile was dropped off around 12pm, j was told I would wait a hour and a half for my car to be completed for a "front outter tire rod" and an alignment. After waiting for several hours, I called to see the status of my car. They informed me that they ordered the wrong part and we had to wait for the correct part to come. I asked why no one had informed us of this, and got no real answer. Poor service. Very disappointed. read more

I brought my SUV there reluctantly for a NYS Inspection. I was told an hour to hour 1/2 because 1 car was ahead of me... understandable... 1 1/2 hour later I was told I needed a tire to pass inspection (a known issue)... also understandable... the part that I take issue with is the additional 1 1/2 hours to mount and balance two front tires. Is this not a Mavis Discount "TIRES"??? Tires is their bread and butter is it not?!? Staff were professional but it was more of a human fish tank, watching employees shuffle from left to right. I'm not expecting a NASCAR pit crew for record time, but maybe lift your feet when you're working. An hour and a half to mount and balance 2 tires is ridiculous. Finally done with the tires they still had to connect the car to the computer for the emissions test... what about time management?? Could that not have been done before the FIRST hour and half??? I missed picking up my daughter from school, had to scramble to get someone to pick her up. Moral of this story is they did get the job done, but the effort put forth from staff was DEFINITELY lacking. read more

They suck. Don't go there. Brought my truck in to get two new tires put on and have the other to move to the rear. I bought two tires from another vendor because they were cheaper and had them shipped to my home. They perform the work and promised it by noon. When I called at 3 o'clock to ask if my truck is ready they told me to come in and speak to the manager. When I arrived I found out that a mechanic messed up all four of my rims by mounting them on the wrong nothing machine. Looked like a saber tooth lion made out with my rims. They first tried to tell me they would send them out to be repaired. I would not except that offer. So Mavis ordered me four of the exact same rims to replace the ones they damaged. I was very happy with this. The next day will I was driving to work I found out they never tightened one lug one every rim. Once again I returned to mavis and they checked every lug nut. It took them over week and a half to call me that the rims were in when in fact they arrived 3 days later and sat on the floor for another 7 days. I drove by every day just to see the same boxes in the same place. When mavis called I asked to see the rims before mounting they showed me the boxes I watched on the floor for 7 days. After a month on the road I can't keep air pressure In the two tires that mavis re mounted. When inspected by another more reliable vendor chucks of the bead were missing. The only discount you get there is the lip service and smile service over the counter. Run away as fast day your cars will take you to another place where they do the right thing and DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. they should get no stars. read more
