I am completely satisfied with this business, I went to this Mavis Tire back in 2008 and bought tires and they installed and balanced and everything with no problems, so I was thinking about going to Walmart/BJ's/Costco's and everyone of them where extremely busy, so I remembered Mavis and went back early in the morning they had about 4-5 people ahead of me but they had all hands on deck working so it was about a good 1.5 hr wait time and thank goodness I did not need anything else done so I was outta there and I would return for oil changes and tire rotation in the future. read more

I brought in my car a month ago to get new tires mounted, balanced, and aligned with rotation. I had some metal caps on the valve stems(which after today, I found out that it's bad to have that) no body warned me about them back then. Today i went to just get my tire pressure checked and they couldn't get the caps off because the metal from the cap and the stem had fused together from the heat. I asked them why they never told me about that last time i was there/ if this is something they can fix and cover the cost of or give me a discount on. The manager Robert and his colleague Patrick said that this is not their problem and I should've known this would happen. I paid the full amount to get them fixed and left. Definitely felt like I was getting extorted out of money. Could've easily been solved if someone said something about the caps when the car spent the entire day there a month ago for new tires. read more

Well here we go folks, hopefully this willing the final review to this saga. I finally had my car fixed. My car was fixed at Roland's Auto Body in White Plains NY. With lots of running around the skirt on my car looks better. Mavis finally sent me to someone who knew I was coming and was aware of my situation. Though I feel allot of this could have been avoided I'm glad it's done and over with. If I could give this location a zero I would. I brought my Subaru Cross Trek there with about 21000 miles for a NYS inspection. After waiting almost a hour and a half , one of the clerks says to me , you need front and rear brakes. Really I said , thats a shocker to me! I am a very knowledgeable and educated customer and spotted the scam this guy was trying to pull with me. It just so happened i brought my car to my Subaru dealer for an oil change 2 weeks prior and included in every oil change by Subaru is a multi point inspection. During this time my fluids, belts, tires ,and BRAKES ect were checked. Too find out who lying to me , I called the Subaru dealership where I had my car serviced, the representative I spoke to not only reinsured me my brakes were fine , but told me the exact millimeters left on my pads and rotors at time of service , which was enough to pass inspection. Took my car to another garage later that day passed NYS inspection no problem. The people here are clueless and are just looking to rip people off if they can. Stay away! read more

I came to Mavis in yonkers because of a flat tire on a TUESDAY the 1/23/18 , and then they said it was a "nail" fixed the issue and I was on my way . Literally Wednesday I have the same issue and I finally bring in my car again on FRIDAY morning 1/26/18, I was furious and o spoke to them and they check it out for me and tell me "it's another nail" .... I never knew this many nails, same streets and place where I drive my other two cars have this many nails and only that SAME TIRE with the nail before has another nail. When I purchased the tire which was in 2016 and now I have no warranty apparently. I bought cooper tires from them in 2013 with warranty and 2016 I had issues and they said the cooper tires I had are not being made anymore so I was put of 600 to 700 bucks for those tires which had me buy these Continental tires in 2016 and then now the new ones don't have any warranties. Right after I took my car to another dealer(Meineke) to check out the tires and guess what , none of the problems had to do with the "nails" it was just the whole tires needed to be tighten from the seal of the tire and the rim , they never wanted to tell me because it would cost them a free tire instead they told Me "other" things I need work on for my car without even fixing the main problem. Never going back to deal with these guys again !!! This has been the worst experience from them!!! read more

They spend more time chatting than actually working and can care less about your time or worth. I was penny wise and pound foolish with this one. Stick to Costco tires and you'll be better off. Aside from the lack of service, they don't tell you about the discount prices offered on their website and will exploit you if you are not knowledgeable about tire pricing so shop around first and stay away from Mavis. It appears they are all horrible and I'm perplexed as to why this company is still around and the better business bureau hasn't done something about it. I noticed there was an 877 number posted in the store for comments and complaints but when you call the #, it's a telemarking system attempting to sell you roadside assistance and other garbage. DO NOT GO HERE!! I had my two front tires replaced and they made it seem like they were giving this grand price on the tires. They then neglected to give back the lock for the tires, so I had to go back. I have been having a slow leak in one of the tires they replaced for the last two weeks.. coming out to the car in the morning and finding that the tire pressure was low. Then I was having to put air in the tire every 2 to 3 days. I called Mavis and they said they may have placed the tire badly to come back and they will look at it. I left work early, losing pay to bring the car in to get the matter resolved. Went in and explained to them that it was only a slow leak. I see the workers that looked like kids joking around instead of working on the cars. Even when they had empty ports to work on my car, they still left me sitting there. I sat and waited for a hour and a half and got so angry that I had to leave with NO RESOLUTION. I asked them for the number to the District Manager and they provided a name, but with a false number. The customer service at this location is the absolute worst that I've seen and will NEVER be going back there. To joke around and waste a paying customers time is disgusting. TIME IS MONEY!!! They were then acting like I was bothering them and they were upset with me. I called the Corporate Office as soon as I got home, put in a complaint and am dying to see how this is resolved and what they do for their customers!!!!!! read more

This unhappy customer took my wife's Honda crv to Rt82 in Hopewell Junction Mavis for clanking noise in front end & rebalancing of 2 front tires. That is when the front desk guy starts his sales routine. He starts to add up or (bundle as he put it to save me money supposedly). He puts 4 wheel balance down, i say no just fronts, he says noise is from strut mounts (which i don't believe). He wants to sell me new struts, i say no. And last they install new tire pressure sensor as an item i came in for. Well after arriving at there opening 8:00am it took 1&1/2 hrs. I pay the $252.00 bill & get in my car to leave, when i notice 3 different lights on & blinking- tire pressure, anti-theft, & clock! I go get guy at desk who then spends another 25 minutes of my time trying to cancel codes on radio to no avail. I now leave Mavis & have to drive to Honda dealer to reset codes & they tell me battery cables corroded, which Mavis should have cleaned! NEVER going to another Mavis! read more

When I arrived was super optimistic and happy, was in a great mood to be honest. There were about 3-4 other people waiting when I arrived. My appointment was at 10:00 AM & I arrived at 10:01 and was speaking to the person at the front desk. He told us it would be an hour before our car got taken in. It is now more than an hour and my car still has not been taken in to change ONE simple tire. There are many workers who just seem to be walking around and working as if it's a leisure not as if they were getting paid. When asked why we had to wait if we had an appointment the young man in the black Mavis sweatshirt stated they also have appointments and have been waiting (talking about the other clients). Totally unacceptable and they really need to work on their time management. Appointments are made because people have places to be and this place of business does not respect their clients time. Stay away ! Tried to get me to buy a new set of tires and then went to Costco who fixed the flat with a patch and said my tread had 15000 miles or more left. Spent less than $12 at Costco. By the way if the tire gets damaged from a pot home, Costco gives you the best warranty and replaces the tires based and only charges for the tread percentage used. Nicer people and the best balancing you can get. Mavis lied to me. They are bad news. read more

Why a 1 Star.....there is no communication, lack of follow thru and arrogance.... first time not using a dealership for my oil change. Because of this site at Central Park Avenue I will never use an outside place for this service. They say they changed my oil I have my doubts, my car was never set back so that the maintenance message came off and no sticker placed in car. I had to tell them I already paid when they tried to ring me up again... I had to go back the next day for message reset when I asked about the sticker ... ohhh we don't have any hmm ok I didn't drive the next day when I get in my car to go to work washer fluid low....huh.... I called as at this point I was disgusted only to try to be schooled by the person on the phone that the entire shop was out of this so ANY ONE who got their oil change didn't get the fluids filled and oh he states THEY DONT HAVE TO DO IT.... no problem I said at least be HONEST and tell your customer he was dismissive NO PROBLEM I work for a large hospital and everyone was cufo about my experience it is my right to say DONT GO THERE you and your money is not respected.... shame on them read more

Watch out for this place, especially if you're a female coming in here alone. They tried to scam me big time. I looked up the price on their website for 4 new tires, and made an appointment for the next morning to have them installed. When I arrived at Mavis, the guy tried telling me that not only was the price about $200 more than I saw online, but also that I had to have them do a wheel alignment for $70 additional. I was ready to just walk out and buy them elsewhere, as I had priced it out at a few places. I kind of wish I did and let them lose the business, but I had already come all the way here. Luckily for me, my parents live nearby and I was able to convince my dad to come by. Somehow with him being there, the price magically dropped back down to the original price I saw online. So the upside is that my car now has 4 new tires before the winter, but the downside is that this place doesn't treat people equally, I had to wait almost 3 hours for them to put the tires on my car even though I had an appointment and the place wasn't busy, and also they were just generally rude and unpleasant. THIEVES!! Went up there because of a squeak coming from my wheel. I was told that I needed front rosters and break pads. Pain over $300. And left with the same squeak. When I returned, both managers completely avoided me and sent a mechanic to talk to me. When I explained the situation to him, he took the car out for a test drive and immediately told me that the break calipers needed lubrication. He put the car up on a lift, did the lubrication which took five minutes, and the squeak was gone. The people who sold me the brakes, Bobby and Eddie, totally avoided coming out of the shop to talk to me. read more

I had two incident. first one, My brand new accord had a flat tire. he told me it wasn't fixable so it was agreed to be replaced for 109 plus tax and balancing. when i came back to pick up the car they have charged me for wheel alignment without giving any acknowledgement . Ok i ll let that go. second incident i brought in my santa fe with nails in one of tire.first he told me that wasnt replaceable. then He told me they do not carry that brand anymore and assist me in replacing all 4 tires since it ll defit the purpose of all wheel drive vehicle if one of tire brand is different for other three. I am looking at this manager and thinking i came to get 20 dollar patch and he s trying to sell me new tires for car that only has about 20,000 mile on it and didnt require tire replacement. Made an 8:30 appt for the next day on the phone. The next day i arrived on time but they took my car at 9:30. They said phone appt only guarantees theyll take my car sometime during the day. A true appt must be done online. Then why make appts and why not tell me on the phone this while taking and okaying my appt. Staff and management is horrible ! I scheduled an appointment they told me they had my tires in stock when I got there they only had two tires. I had to wait 3 hours to get new tires on. Very careless with your car damaged mine during the process of changing tires. I was told that they'd fix any issues they inflicted on my car now they will not and are saying the never said that. Very disrespectful while talking on the phone. I would never recommend this place. Go to goodyear or somewhere else this place is not worth the headache! Also they gave me a quote on my tires when i went to get them done was significantly higher. I read these reviews and thought others were exaggerating, so I took the chance and went. NEVER AGAIN!! Would not recommend. Reserved online and thought I had bought 4 Michelin tires for my Lexus. I arrived on time and was greeted cordially. All was going well until I discovered I had lost my tire lock. I bought another and returned within an hour. Then the fun began: I went out for a bite to eat after I had waited an hour and came back to see my car upon the lift with the hood open for God knows what reason. Then I was told that I needed new front and rear brakes. I was pressured by two different people to make a quick decision and finally said no thanks. (Dealer later confirmed need rear brakes, but I had redone the fronts 1 year before, thus I was suspicious.) . When I received the bill I noticed that it indicated that I HAD ASKED THEM to check my brakes, suspension, and battery. I had done no such thing. And I was charged 10 dollars more per tire than I had been promised on the web site. Car still pulls a bit to the right - ugh!!! My stepdaughter bought her 2005 Honda Civic to this establishment a few weeks ago and informed me the red brake warning light was coming on shortly after her visit there which they did an oil change and front brakes, the light then became steady when she had me take a look at it. What I found was the master cylinder was empty of fluid due to the drivers side brake line was left loose on the caliper causing the fluid to leak out which would have caused a potentially dangerous situation. I also found that all 4 tires were down to 20 lbs which leads me to believe they did not check and adjust them during the oil change which should have been done, again a potentially dangerous situation. I called and spoke to the manager I think his name was Rob who's first reaction was to tell me his technicians would not have loosened the brake line to replace brake pads. In my experience being in the automotive repair industry I have whitnesed technicians loosening the brake line when they retract the piston of the caliper so not to force brake fluid back into the master cylinder. When I explained this to him he was a little more willing to listen and said he would speak to his technicians about it. read more
