what started as a seemingly simple shipping issue from amazon/ fedex after a number of good interactions and tires installed by this location, turned into a now year long affair involving a missing set of tires signed off by a "mystery person" , no reach back from management, no calls after confirmation from amazon, mavis corporate & fedex that the tires made it to their destination. no attempt to remedy the situation besides a shrug from the local management & crickets from an oddly hard to determine regional manager. Now, a year later, I'm out $750+ , a missed deadline on a project , and no tires on wheels Ive been in aviation / auto logistics for some time and its clear theres breakdown in how this location handles chain of custody for customers property and issues like this happen I will say counter staff (blue?) were very courteous though not able to help passed their scope. cannot recommend unfortunately read more

This store is the worst & those good reviews that's posted are fake. I took my car there to get struts put on they took 8+ hours then gave my car back in un drivable condition. I was literally told by the mechanic he wouldn't recommend me driving my car home. I had a small issue with noise in my struts that he made worst. Then when I tried to get a refund for the bad work done they refused to do so. Saying I underpaid for the time it took to work on my car. So I had to then pay someone else to fix what they did. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! I brought my car in to get its brakes checked on September 20th after hearing grinding when braking. After supposedly checking all of the brakes on my all-wheel drive car, they said I needed the front two rotors and brake pads replaced as well as two new back tires. I happily paid for the services and picked up my car at the end of the day. However, just three days later, the grinding returned. I brought my car back in on September 28th where they did another brake inspection and found that the back brakes and rotors also needed to be replaced, making it clear they did not do a full brake inspection the first time. I requested they check the calipers too since one of the brakes was more worn down than the others. They argued it was because my car has front wheel drive and didn't believe me when I informed them that the car that I've owned for 4 years and that my parents owned for 9 is all-wheel drive and they need to double check their work. They ADMITTED to checking the back caliper ON THE SIDE THAT WAS FINE and assumed the other was alright as well before actually checking that one and seeing it needed to be replaced. And when the new caliper did get delivered for them to install, it was missing a bolt and required us all to stay there for another hour until they got a replacement. Overall it was an incredibly stressful experience that resulted in me spending much more time and money getting my brakes fixed than I needed to if they had just been honest and done the job right in the first place. I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience and will be steering clear of any Mavis establishment in the future. read more

My car has a huge scratch on the (driver side) rear door after Mavis parked the car on their own property after doing a terrible alignment. They refuse to acknowledge that they are responsible for it. They say it didn't happen in their shop and must have happened in their parking lot after they parked the car. I have an Arlo camera video of me pulling out of my driveway with no scratches on the door. It is not disputed by Mavis that it happened under their care while I was not on the premises. They do dispute this is their fault and I'm on my own. The "alignment" has left my car with the steering wheel at 10 o'clock for the tires to be straight. The alignment was not like this when I dropped it off. In fact, I didn't even know I needed an alignment until just a week prior when Costco put four new tires on the car and said they were worn in a way that indicated I needed an alignment. My wife's Atlas also went in on the same day for two new tires on the front. The wheels were filthy with brake dust and a huge greasy/dusty smeared handprint on the white side panel. We complained about the brake dust and the tech came out with two baby wipes (one wipe for each tire) to smear all the dust around further. Needless to say, we had to clean it ourselves when we got home. While on the way home, the underinflated tire pressure light came on. Turns out, they overinflated one new tire so much that it threw the whole system off and the light came on. The damaged door remains damaged. I'm terrified of taking the car back to this place to get the alignment fixed because what will happen next? I asked the manager... "what did you guys do right?" She had no answer and promptly hung up. I provided video of the alignment and the photos of the scratch to their corporate office who keeps pushing it back to the store manager. I have never received a call from the regional manager or corporate. If anything changes, I'll update this post. It is unfortunate that I had to give 1 start to this incompetent business. I want the public to know to spare you the grief I'm going through. If you choose to go here instead of the multitude of more competent auto shops in the area, good luck. Seriously regret taking my truck here. Went here for new brake pads and rotors. I have had trouble with my brakes ever since. I wouldn't dare let them touch my vehicle again. Firstly, the service guys will try to weasel you into an unnecessary purchase which isn't uncommon, however, they wanted $1020 for 4 brake pads and rotors. I haggled him down to $750 which is still an absolute rip off after doing more research. (At my own fault). But what kind of place has a margin of AT LEAST $300+? When my truck gets finished after 2.5 hours, I go to inspect my truck and 2 lug nuts are completely loosened. I complained and drove it back into the garage. The garage entrance is a one-way and another worker came FLYING out almost nailing me head on. I go back into the garage, they tighten the lug nuts. Sadly, this was only the experience while I was AT THE SHOP. I notice about a few days later my brakes locking up on me. I'm not a mechanic so I couldn't really diagnose the issue. But obviously it had something to do with the work I JUST HAD on my truck. I brought it to a different shop and he said the brake pistons were jacked up from these guys. It ultimately lead to me having to get a new caliper far sooner than I should have. This is a PSA, DO NOT GO HERE. You'll get overcharged for poor service, most likely take some damage to your vehicle, and then have to spend more money getting it fixed somewhere else. This place should not be in business. Would NOT recommend. Went in for help with routine maintenance, left (after 5-6 hours) with my car making new strange noises. Called customer service line, who said the regional manager Norman would call with next steps. Never did. We have used Mavis several times. The service at various Mavis stores, mostly on an urgent basis, has been very good. The recent experience at the Mavis on Dekalb Industrial was stellar, identifying our rim problem and arranging for a rim repair rather than replacement. Fantastic! Yesterday I returned to this location for a single tire replacement. (I had all 4 tires replaced here a few years ago.) I had a reservation. I arrived at 12:30. I said I needed the work completed before 2:30 (to pick up my kids) or else I could come back another time. They promised I'd be finished "way before" 2:30. They started on my car at 2:30. They asked me what size my tires are, even though I'd been here before. They asked me where to find the wheel lock, and then they asked me how to use it! They actually broke it apart, trying to figure out how to use it, which I didn't know was possible. I was astonished, since this is a *tire shop.* When I said I needed to leave, they got defensive and said the only holdup was *my* wheel lock. (Which they broke.) I was sitting in the waiting area YouTubing how to put it back together. Finally at 2:45 I had to ask them to give me back my car. They wanted me to pay before I left even though the spare was still on the car, because the new tire was on the rim, which they had tossed in the trunk. I didn't have time to ask them to take it off the rim. So I paid and left, and said I'd come back so they could finish the job. When I came back I had to wait another hour. They did eventually get the new tired on. I went home and left the 2-star review. But today I looked in the trunk, and saw THEY LEFT THE SPARE TIRE JUST SITTING IN THE TRUNK. I drive a Tahoe. It's a big car and I'm a little person. The spare goes on the underside of the vehicle. I can't even lift the spare out of the trunk. So now I have to find ANOTHER TIRE SHOP to put the spare away for me. I absolutely feel scammed. I think they held my car hostage knowing I was in a hurry, and they took my money without even doing the job. They didn't earn the labor charges I paid. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. They are dishonest and/or incompetent. It hurts even more that I was a loyal customer and was happy to bring my business here. I will never do that again! read more

The Good: Through all of The Bad (below), the staff was generally accommodating. The Bad: We were having them replace 4 tires. After the call that the car was ready we went to the store and paid. When we got to the car we realized the old tires were still on. It was near closing time and they offered to get the car on the rack to change the tires ASAP. I did not want a rush job on installation and alignment so I told them we'd pick it up the next morning. Next morning...new tires are on but the driver's seat, center console and door panel are smeared with grease. Really obvious on a tan interior that had been detailed 2 weeks prior. An employee came out with some wet (with what I don't know) towels and cleaned it up. We ultimately agreed on some bit of compensation for our inconvenience...for which I had to come in a third time to process with the manager. Write it up as indifference, incompetence or carelessness...I don't know. Whatever the cause, it's a bad showing from a company that's had very public issues with customer service in the past year. I think I'm done with chain tire stores in general. read more

This place is a scam! Go somewhere else and get tires. I have been a customer of this place since it was NTB and I now feel like I am in a toxic relationship. I have purchased a set of tires with a warranty and road hazard warranty from them and every time something happens to one of my tires I swear I still end up paying full price for a replacement. So this particular episode, I went last Tuesday to get a Oil change and I asked how much would it be to replace the rear tire on my car with the warranty he said he would call me. He called and said it would be $76 and some change after the warranty, which is crazy to me but ok whatever. I told him to go ahead with it he said the tire has to be ordered. I go pick my car up and I asked has the tire been ordered and when will it be there he said he will do it now and that it will be there Thursday. I get home and get a call from Mavis tires saying that they need $25 deposit to place the tire order I then give him the deposit and again say when will the tire be there he says Thursday and someone will call me. Fast forward to a week later no call or anything I call them to see if the tire is there and he says your tire says the 15th... WHAT???? no you said 2 day which was LAST THURSDAY??? hold on ma'am let me go see if you tire is in the back. The tire was there I dropped my car there and when I returned to pick it up I was the hit with my total is now $92??????? wait a minute. I was told $76 to replace I paid $25 for deposit and the balance is now $92????? the math is not mathing..... So I basically just bought another brand new tire for my car when I had a warranty with these guys and guess what they didn't put the warranty back on the tire and before I even got 2 minutes down the street the tire pressure light came on! Then the nerve to ask me do I want to go ahead and order my front tire.. no sir I am deciding to get out of the situation and go buy new tires somewhere else since I'm paying FULL PRICE anyways!!! DO not go to this place they will take full advantage of you and take your money and add all kind of fees to your total. read more

This Mavis location took my money, $2500, but did not repair my car. I took my car to their shop on May 10, 2023 and continued to take it back there throughout May, June and July because the car was still making the same sounds that it was making when I first took it there. After my one of my visits, on 7/6/2023, the car was making scraping sounds that were not there when I first took the car to Mavis for repair in May. In other words, the car was worse and I have not driven it much because it's been in their shop and/or the sounds are so bad that I'm afraid to drive it. They couldn't repair it, wouldn't refund the money and finally suggested that I should take it to Ford for a diagnostic, which Mavis would pay for. Ford has determined that one the noises I hear is from a bad wheel bearing; however, Mavis said they had replaced the wheel bearings. It's on my receipt. I called Mavis customer service (800-757-4291) twice, 7/21 & 7/31, and was told that I needed to speak with Norman Shaw, a regional manager. Both times I was told that he would call me right back. He has yet to call me and today is 8/11/2023. The mechanic at Ford has informed me that the bad wheel bearing is a safety concern. Mavis indicated that they repaired it and then sent me out in a car that could have caused an accident. I'm giving them one star because Don, the employee at the front desk, was always courteous. The repair at Ford is approx $2100 and includes diagnostics and a wheel alignment, which I also paid extra for at Mavis. read more

Just had an oil change and a diagnostic run on my car to tell me why my check engine light was on. Although this place does not do the auto work I needed they were able to tell me what was wrong at no additional cost and have my oil changed and routine car check up in an hour. Tay, the receptionist is delightful and informative. The location is a short drive to cafes, breakfast and shopping which is convenient if you have a ride while your car is being handled. read more

How can I give ZERO stars? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I went in for an oil change and they told me my brakes were down 90%. They replaced the brake pads and rotors, and told me it took so long because they had a difficult time with it. The brakes were locking as soon as I pulled it out of their lot. Brought it back and they put a lot of lubricant on it, recommended new calipers, and said it should be fine. I had to have it towed back there where they said they replaced the rotors and brake pads, and put on new calipers. Less than one month later, I have two break warning lights go on. The Mazda manual says not to drive it before checking out these lights. I called the number on the invoice that says I should call if "you're not 100% satisfied with the service" and was told the regional manager would call me back. He never did. I had to call him. He then authorized the car to be towed again. This time I sent it to a different location.The manager at this shop who originally did the brake work told me I would get reimbursed for the tow. I have been trying to reach her for three hours this morning. Front desk says she's busy, and is now out of the office at another shop. She tried to tell me to wait for the manager to call me back instead of me "getting stressed" calling them. She also said I should "have my little coffee and watch some TV" while I wait for the callback. When I told her that was very condescending, she said she did not intend it, and furthermore, "did not know where I was taking this conversation, a conversation that she does not want to participate in". She then hung up on me. So, after $600+, I have decided to bite the bullet and never go back to Mavis. Unbelievable that a place like this can be in business. I don't expect it will be for long. read more

I would have given a 1 star but the employees here were very helpful and did a great job. However Since MAVIS took over NTB in June they still do not have any heat. It was freezing inside. The signs still have NTB tire and the coffee pot is broken wouldn't matter anyways since there wasn't any coffee or cups. I think management could do better than this. It's a shame because the employees are working hard and doing a great job but the facility needs a lot of work. read more

Warning Don't Do it!! My experience here was horrible! Although I have been going here for years I would never reccomend this place again. I took my Dodge Challenger here and the unexperienced technician scraped all four rims removing the tire but I let that slide and took my Kia Stinger here and again the unexperienced technician placed the wrong tire on the wong rim in the wrong place and now im out of $3300.00 for struts and bent rims on a 2019 Kia and they will not accept responsibility for there work but had the nerve to say bring it in we will fix it for a fee. No! Never again will a Mavis touch any of my cars. The manager John was rude and His boss Daryll won't return my phone calls. Please check your vehicles before leaving this place because trying to contact someone here is useless I would aspect this type of treatment if I let a person off the street do the job but not a major company but then again maby they get over on femals like this because they assume we don't know anything! Even though I called ahead and was initially just having my tires inspected, it took almost 3 hours for them to get to my car. If I had known it would be that long, I wouldn't have waited. I knew something was wrong with at least one of my tires because every time I put air in them, the warning light would come on again. They said they couldn't find anything. Then another person looked and found a nail. I decided to get 4 tires due to their age. They supposedly had them in stock, but came back 25 minutes later to say they couldn't find all 4. This after waiting so long already. I left my car there overnight. The next day they replaced the tires. I received a call advising me that a need a brake fluid flush and front brake pads. I said that I would let my mechanic look at it. I received 2 more calls (at work) telling me that I will be in danger if I don't take care of those items right now. They offered me all kinds of deals to get it done. I declined again. I took my car to my trusted mechanic of over 12 years and they said neither of those items need to be done. read more

Requested over $1800 worth of work to been to include brakes, struts, and alignment. I noticed that my car pulled badly to the left. I was informed that it needed another alignment. Keep in mind that the service was supposed to had been done on Thursday. It was a Monday & Tuesday that I returned back. Each time I went in they tell me that they couldn't get to it. My husband goes back today, Wednesday. He told the same that and was directed to go to the next nearest location. it was noted that NO alignment had been done. I had been with NTB for years. I discovered I had a nail in my tire yesterday but it was too late to go anywhere. It was also too late today but I was lucky enough to find a reservation slot on the Mavis website. I called beforehand to make sure they were going to be able to provide service before they closed for the day. I was told that it would be a wait, but they would get it done. It was definitely a wait but they made sure my tire was fixed, they were courteous, and they adjusted the price for my wait. I'd go back for any future issues. read more
