The absolute worst place to take your car! The people here never do what they say they will but are always quick to try to up charge for every little thing. These are sales people not decent mechanics. Do NOT trust them with your car! I learned this lesson years ago and when we needed tires and sensors done quickly this weekend they were the only ones with an availability. I have had 2 vehicles service at this Woodrow street location, have always been treated fairly, and trust them completely. Has the management changed at this location? I showed up for my oil change appt, which I was told by phone, would cost $69.95. I asked if they would also be checking coolant levels and other fluids. They said no, just the oil. I said, your website says you do a full check on fluids, brakes, air filter, leaks, etc. The assistant manager said no, there's nobody here for that. We just do the oil. I asked if they could at least reset the maintenance minder on the dash and they agreed to do so. When I returned for the car, I was charged $107.78, for a Honda. Sadly extremely disappointed...I used to come here starting about 2 years ago and was beyond happy to find a place to take my car where I can trust it will be in good hands. Two weeks ago...car goes in for oil change...then it's my struts, and my rear brakes are almost run down...but none of that was an issue. It was back and forth for three days...about something being wrong but not an explanation on what, then it was a part needed to be overnighted. (Yet when we went in to pick up the car he showed us the CPS wire that needed to be replaced due to a mistake during the repair from O'Reilly Auto Parts. As well once I finally got my car back I had to take it immediately to the dealership to get it checked out due to the car veering extremely hard to the right. The dealership ending up having to keep my car overnight due to the alignment being so messed up due to what was done or not done on my car. I have called customer service for the last week and every time I talk to someone they say to me that they will put an "urgent" ticket on my name and someone will get back to me soon. So disappointing that this is how I was treated and that I paid a good amount of money to trust someone with my car and that didn't happen. People make mistakes and things do happen which I can completely understand. The problem is that I have yet to hear from anyone about what happened, the situation was told to me in a way in which it was on me for the reason my car was there that long, and I was feed several lies from numerous people (or maybe y'all couldn't get the stories straight). I wish y'all could have been honest about the whole situation even though having to pay for my car to go to two places and pay for two places for what was just supposed to be an oil change.. read more

I needed new brakes on my Acura so I took it into mavis to have it done. They then tell me that I needed a new alternator along with my brakes. I was convinced by the manager that it would help my car so I spent over $1100 for this all to be done. Little did I know this was not the end of my troubles. After a week or two, I noticed on several occasions that my car wasn't starting up properly. I took it back in to be looked at but they said that they could not get my hood open. The latch that opens my hood was completely broken. They were the last people to touch my car and insisted that it was not their fault and offered no compensation. So now I'm spending over $300 at the Honda dealer for a problem that was not there before I went to mavis. Not to mention the new alternator didn't fix anything. So the owner of this particular Mavis tire reached out to me very apologetic listen to my issue, sort of kept jumping in had to tell him I wasn't done speaking. He said he was not there that day and he was going to look into this and swore up and down he would get back to me and he take care of this. Unfortunately that was almost a month ago never heard back from him, if I wanted to smoke blown up my ass I'd get a short length of hose and a cigarette. I was driving from NC to Florida, through a work zone, when my car started to make a noise like a flat tire. I pulled over, and none of the tires had a flat. It was past 5pm, and called Mavis as the closest auto shop on my GPS. Victor answered, and told me to bring my car right over, and he would put it on a lift and take a look! They found I had run over some bolts, and said they would fix it right up for me! This was absolutely amazing care and service -- especially for someone just passing through. By far the worst experience I ever had in 40 years of buying tires and driving a car. Late on appointment, told I would have call confirmation on tires and alignment, no calls ever came. Told 4 tires would take an hour, after two hours just got started. Was told by the manager I was being rude just by asking when the car would be ready and why is it taking so long? Interrupted by a customer telling me to be nice to the manager?????? why? I was not being rude or disrespectful, I had to go back to work. Driving from OH to FL my tires said low pressure as I was about to pass in the rain storm so I popped by and the staff was so kind. They came out and fixed our tires with some air, recalibrated the system, and let us use their restroom! Super kind! Problem with my 2004 Trailblazer, AC compressor locked up causing engine to not crank. Vehicle was towed to this repair shop for diagnosis, repair. Service desk told me the AC pairs, condenser, compressor needed to replaced to fix problem. Parts were installed. My vehicle now after AC parts were installed is not running. The engine stalls and runs rough once engine is cranked. Prior to vechile being worked on by marvis mechanic the engine ran smooth, like new. Service representative said they would continue to fix, repair problem. In short, my minor problem turned into a nightmare. I would not recommend this repair shop to my worst enemy. I rate this establishment a minus 5 star. read more

I purchased a full set of Goodyear tires in August. On our way to Charlotte my front passenger tire kept losing pressure. The next day I called Mavis told them what happened. Nathan asked me to bring the tire in. Long story short they replaced all my valve stems, because the incorrect stem valves were used when the tires were originally put on. On December 13, 2021, I brought a flat tire to Mavis Tire in Irmo, SC to fix. After ten minutes they showed me my tire with four inch gash on the inside, a cut obviously done by a knife or a razor. Previously, both myself and a friend had inspected my tire looking for a nail or reason for it going flat, we found nothing. We would have easily seen a large cut on the inside sidewall. Although denying responsibility, (blaming this cut on a pothole) I am confident that this cut was deliberately done by a Mavis employee after they took possession of my tire, destroying it, and thereby hoping I would buy a new tire from them. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! We took our car there to have new compressor put on for air conditioning and they never called us to give us a quote and when my husband called that afternoon to see what the quote was he was told it was ready to pick up. When we picked it up and paid for it the ac was blowing out hot air and when we took it to another mechanic to look at it he said they left off half of the new parts needed and the freon was only half the amount needed. When we took it back the assistant manger lied and said that my husband said he didn't want all the new parts on which amounted to $70 so they couldn't put a guarantee on the new compressor and we are just out over $800. When my husband called the manager he was told they would set things right but then he took it back and stood by the lying assistant. These people are just crooks!! read more

Rare excellent customer service experience. I set an appointment for 8:00 a.m. for a rotate & balance and slow leak repair. I arrived about twenty minutes early and where otherwise I might have been ignored, I was made welcome. The waiting area is clean and comfortable and the coffee hot, the newspaper and the dozens of magazines neatly laid out on the table. While I waited for work on my truck to be completed, I noticed that all (not some) of the about ten customers that came in before I left at 8:30 a.m. were greeted by name. The communication with the walk-in customers, and the many by phone was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and clear. Very noticeably, there was absolutely no "up-sell". One time I even dropped my car off because I was worried it was driving wrong, and they just drove it around, said there was nothing wrong with it, and then that was it. Went in to have a tire repaired, Was wondering why it was taking so long, Look in the back and the hood was up, I ask why was the hood up when they were only ask to fix a tire? One guy behind the counter rush outside while the woman behind the counter was saying they check the engine air filter as a courtesy, 2017 Escalade do not have an air filter, Cabin filter yes but it's not under the hood, Check my invoice when leaving, They had added customer states check tire pressure monitoring system, Tire pressure monitoring system batteries and batter life, I ask for none of it. They wasted my time and other customers time, I guess they were try to find something to tell me that I need on a vehicle with less than 19000 miles that have been maintain by the Cadillac dealership. Place is a rip off! They charged me $750 for a "computer chip" my car would start long enough to drive home, then it wouldn't start. My car was towed to them three times. The last time my car was towed the lights were blinking,car was making a ticking sound without my key even in the egnition. I took a video so that they couldn't say nothing was wrong with it. When I asked the owner what I paid $750 for he said I paid them to get my car started.
