I am not sure what happened with the other Comment here on yelp and I hope he reached out to Johnny to try and resolve the issue but all I can do is tell you what happen to me.... My brake light came on I refilled it and the next morning all of it is on the ground near my rear tire. Drum seals gone(?) so I had it towed to a shop that had some great reviews "Aarons on Spring park" instead of sticking with Parts only because they were closer to where I live now. Aarons calls back yes Drums are gone and the cost to repair $700+ brand new brakes, drums etc. Hold up guys let me call you back and i call johnny and tell him what they said to me. he said Rick you do not need to have all that done and the price seems a little steep. Let me give you a rough estimate. $320+ tow after all was said and done tow and all the total was $385.14. So my recommendation take your car somewhere else have them do an estimate then call Johnny. Odds are you will do better here. DO NOT LOOK for warm and fuzzy and be direct with Johnny he is a mechanic, No I mean a real mechanic someone that would work on a car reach over and eat a Krispy Kreme without washing. I honestly do not think you could do better anywhere in town my brother also goes here and has for years. Not sure how he is Girl wise he is older and I would recommend maybe taking a Dude with you just in case.LOL read more

I have come here twice in a row for an oil change. As always, call ahead just to make sure they have availability. The first time I came they saw me the day I called and they had me out of there in less than an hour. They didn't try and sell me on extra stuff and when I was offered regular or synthetic they didn't push the synthetic on me (I did get the synthetic but because I wanted to...not because I got lectured as to why it's better) The second time I came, I called the evening before and they said they could see me as soon as they opened at 7:30am. By the way it is really convenient that they open so early. Sure enough I pulled in and they got started on my car right away, I had some other lights flashing on the dashboard due to tire pressure and some message about needing tire rotation. They got the tire rotation done for me and they also looked into the tire pressure light that kept going off. They assured me that they would make sure to check the tire over before checking to see if it was a sensor issue as the sensor was expensive to replace. I appreciated them letting me know and being honest about checking everything before jumping to the expensive fix. They are respectful and professional and value your time. Parts Garage was highly recommended by a friend who owns a couple older sports cars and has been going there for years. I took my car there for a tow hitch and lights installation. It was a great job and fast. They complete all types of work. Would definitely go there for other jobs. Will start going there for oil changes soon now that my car is off warranty. read more

Checked out this place based on the positive reviews. I had high expectations, but they were far exceeded. It's tucked away off King, just down Rosselle. It's the oldest mechanic in JAX, and it shows -- a very humble operation. They were kind and professional on the phone, courteous and efficient in person, and seemingly very honest throughout the process. The price? About half of what I was prepared to pay. I generally find reasons not to trust a mechanic, but I can't find any with Bird's. A hard yes for this place. read more

Parts Garage was recommended to me by a friend after being swindled by other garages, and when I say Parts Garage is honest and dependable I came to them after being told that I needed to have minium $7k worth of repairs to just get the car driveable; this is when I talked to a friend who recommended Parts Garage. Hesitant I did not tell them the prior quote, after they did a very detailed inspection they told me max the repairs would cost $500.00 . I was shocked , and when I asked 'Are you sure' they came back and said let me guess you were told that the car needed XYZ and it would run you $5k-$7k. The total cost ended up being less than the $500. they quoted me, and since then I have brought my car & truck to them. Very Honest Business!! Knowing and experiencing how easily it is for an auto repair shop to take advantage of you, and then getting such amazing honest dependable service you will have no reason to go elsewhere. read more

I took my car in to get new break pads last week, everyone that worked there was very nice and they called me shortly after telling me I needed new front and rear brakes, and how much it was going to cost. We have a 1995 Buick. It was having some serious mechanical issues. Two mechanics (including a dealership) quoted high cost repairs ($1200) without any guarantee that they really knew what the problem was. Parts Garage Jax found the real problem, fixed it within a day and the cost was $150!! The repair even fixed some other ongoing "gliches" that we had accepted as just the nuance of having an old car - like dashboard lights flickering :) . It's really always a tricky thing to find a mechanic that is completely trustworthy and very competent. This is the first mechanic I have fully trusted since childhood when family friends took care of my car. I LOVE Johnny. He truly cares about his customers and is very protective when someone is getting misquoted and ripped off. I feel like I'm bringing my car to my Dad to get it fixed. I live at the beach and used him for company vans at a downtown office. I've been bringing my vehicle to him ever since the 30 minute drive is completely worth it. He will treat you like family. Many of my friends go to him now because of my stories. My vehicle broke down once and ended up at a dealership. I was quoted so high on work Johnny said he'd send one of his guys to get my vehicle for me for free. Then he coached me on exactly what to ask them for to get the price reduced. His priority was me, not getting my business. Who does that?.... Johnny does. His idea worked and the dealership dropped $300 off my price Only downside to his garage is they don't have a cozy waiting area to sit in. He will however offer you a chair, a Coke, get your car out quickly, and give you his internet password. I've never asked for a ride to somewhere else while I waited but I bet they'd say yes if it were reasonable and someone was available. read more

Parts Garage is the first garage I have used in years that is honest, reliable and efficient. I use my van for work daily. He is affordable, honest and direct. No nonsense at this garage. The staff and mechanics are user friendly and are simply great mechanics. I have found my forever mechanic. As a woman, a relationship with an honest mechanic is very important. I get my van back quickly and everything works and stays working. They always have time to listen to noises or sounds and bumps and grinds without complaint. This place is a keeper. read more

Shady business, received a quote for a specific day and it was good at least that was what I thought. The day for pick up, no follow up calls, I had to call Ashley Gilmour and ask for updates which ended up being interesting. she mentioned the driver couldn't pick up on the pick up date that both of us had confirmed days earlier. He directs the conversation to a next date availability for additional $200+ dollars. I ended up canceling with them, was made to sign a contract and had to pay a fine of $100 plus for cancellation. They still had the audacity to go ahead and send the driver to pick up my car even after cancelling with them. PLEASE BEWARE AND BE CAREFUL when you deal with them. It is just sad and annoying that I had to go through this experience with them. read more

Love these guys. It helps that they are within walking distance to my house but forget that. They are HONEST!! They will only fix what you want them to fix. They'll give you all the bad news about your car but they will only fix what you approve. Honesty in a mechanic is very rare. They have my business no matter where I may move! read more
