Review is for the location on 6500 SW 117 avenue in Miami, FL. This place is a disaster and true clown show. The staff at the front desk are clueless as to basic customer service. Took my vehicle with 20,000 miles for routine tire service and check for a slow leak in one tire... from the minute I stepped foot in the door it was a pressured sales tactic. First, since I didn't buy the tires from them, there is no rotation and balancing warranty, but I had a receipt showing I had paid for such a warranty on my factory tires. Second, the tires are over inflated that's why tires wont balance, but tires have the recommend factory 35psi and measure 6/32 across the entire contact patch? How are they over inflated? Third, they found a small piece of metal on the tread and needed to be patched, OK fix it and I will pay for it... Again, that tire is not repairable you need to buy a new tire, but it squarely on the tread block and not the sidewall! They patched the tire and perfectly balanced three tires, the one tire needed to be indexed (turned 180 degrees) but they didn't want to do that, since its not their tire. I would have paid for this too... In the end I paid almost $50.00 for a patch which is insane! I did give the two tire techs $10.00 each for lunch, since they were the most professional people in that garage. I drive by this place all the time and its always empty and I understand why... Cannot wait for the tires on this and my other car to wear out so I can go to another tire center to get a new set and be done with this garage. Oh, by the way, 30 years ago I was a trained Corporate Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company store manager and operated a retail location for many years, so I know a little about; customer service, tires, and running a profitable automotive service center. FYI I even called Mavis HQ and filed a complaint. The lady that took the report could have cared less and showed no interest or concern for the issue. Poor communication and customer service. The store manager is nice enough but the worker Raymond was apathetic, rude and dismissive. When I called to see if my elderly mother's oil change was done, Raymond said they don't work on a car until they get approval from the customer (after receiving a quote). Well the car had been there for 2.5 hrs and no one called, to which he explained he texted my mother. I tried to explain that she is elderly so how were we to know, he gets defensive and raises his voice at me. I was understandably upset to hear that apparently no one had worked on the car nor did anyone bother to call her but I didn't deserve to be treated the way he talked to me. I told him that I don't want my car serviced here so I'd be picking up her car. Well I came to get the car and I explained that the communication was poor and I would have expected someone to call or at least let me know when I'm dropping off the car that they would send a quote prior to working on the car. Raymond remained smug in his attitude and just slithered off without an apology. I told them I just wanted to take the car and go.. well it turns out they did do the oil change. Raymond gave me the wrong information to mislead me into thinking my mother's car hadn't been worked on at all ("we don't touch a car until we have approval"), raised his voice at me... all for what? The car was worked on and it was done. This was the worst communication and customer service I've received at a mechanic (which is saying a lot). Customer service was great! Purchased 4 new tires new brakes and pads waited 5 hours paid almost $1,400. Next day brakes squeaking. Called them due to work couldn't go back until around 2 weeks later. Pulled up into parking lot a mechanic said wow my brakes are bad and loud. Lady behind the counter was telling him I got them done here not by him. They checked it out said bad pads waited about 3 hours. Wasn't even a mile away same squeaking like nothing was done. Called told manager I cannot keep coming on my days off can someone drop me back home or pick up the car said that service not offered. So, my story starts at Pep Boys... My brake light was sticking, staying on when the car was off. Long story, very short, googled it, looked at the car manual and then headed to pep boys. Pep Boys wanted to charge me $50 just to look at it. Of course I passed. So drove into the parking lot of Action Gator and started replacing my fuses one at a time. One of the mechanics, Rudy, came out and knew exactly what was wrong. He fixed my car in under a minute. It was a quick fix. I really wanted to give him something for it, but he refused. I always go to this location for all of my tire needs. Marlon is the best! He always does everything he can to help me and for me to be satisfied. I needed a new tire and he made sure it was taken care of and that I left happy. I highly recommend them! A brand new tire installation disposal etc for less than $150 but keep in mind I do have a smaller vehicle. I will continue to go to here even if I have to commute a little further. I came to get a receipt for the tires I purchased in August 2021 because they have a 5 year 60k mile manufacturers warranty and in order to make a claim with the manufacturer I need the proof of purchase. I went to get my oil changed and tires rotated at another shop (not Mavis) and they would not rotate the tires because they said the passenger front tire is separated. I needed a receipt of purchase that shows the mileage when I bought the tires. I spoke to the store manager Marlin. He tried over and over to sell me a tire. I told him I don't want to buy a tire when my tire is under warranty. He argued and went back and forth and kept trying to say he's just trying to help me. I told him if he's trying to help me he would just print me the receipt so I had my proof of purchase and I would be on my way to make my manufactures warranty claim. After an hour of basically begging, he finally printed me the receipt but it showed the wrong tag number for my vehicle and it also stated that my car had 1 mile on it during the service which is not even possible because my car was four years old at the time. I told him they're not going to honor the warranty and it seemed like he was doing funny business so that I would be forced to buy a tire. When I asked him for a receipt with the correct tag number, and the proper mileage, he argued with and said I needed to go back to the Mavis location where I purchased the tires from. I said, why do I have to do that if you guys are all connected, which was the first thing I asked when I came in. After more begging, he finally printed me a receipt, but it seems like he wrote things on it so that I wouldn't be able to do the manufacturers warranty. like he wanted to sabotage me. I showed him a receipt for an oil change I got oct 2021 so he put that mileage on the new receipt he printed me but he wrote a bunch of things above so I'm sure they won't approve my claim now. he even said if they won't make the claim I can come back and buy the tire. At this point, I would never return to Mavis, even if the tire was free. Terrible experience and I do not recommend. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would. My boyfriend and I came in the morning to see if we can get our tire pressure sensors reprogrammed. One the mechanics sat in the car to drive it to the garage and within 30 seconds he ruins our rear bumper. Complete fail, didn't even pay attention to his surroundings and he hit the curb. WHO HITS THE CURB WORKING AT A AUTO SHOP! The supervisor there did agree they would take care of the damages, so hopefully they stand by their word. read more

I purchased 4 tires. One had slow leak. They said I had a small flat and fixed it & charged me $33. Most places do not charge you to fix a flat when you purchase tires. They showed me a tiny screw they said that they took out. The screw was too small to pentrate the threads. I believe that I did not have a flat. The slow leak was caused by the improper seal when installed. They just needed to reinstall at no charge. So the only way they could charge me is by saying they fixed a flat. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. On November 10th, 2021, My husband hit a pothole while going to the gym in his bmw (which is coincidentally right in the same plaza in front of this tire shop). He stopped in and they said they would fix it the next day if he left it overnight, no problem. He works as a firefighter and was on shift that next day. He gets a phone call from the shop manager claiming that when a shop employee went to move his car into the bay, he was backing up and didn't see a curb and there was "minor" front end damage now to his vehicle. (How do you not know there's a curb there when you work there?!) so I went after I got off work to check it out for him because he was on shift and was unable to go himself. When I pulled up, there was someone sitting inside his vehicle in the driver seat on his phone. Your just hanging out in my husbands car? He quickly decided to tell me he was just in there "checking if they left anything in the car". Why would you have left anything in the car if 1. The car was parked back in its place never even taken into the bay to replace the tire like they should've and 2. The car was still sitting on a flat in their parking lot putting more damage on his rim. And that "minor" front end damage was not minor AT ALL, half his front bumper was ripped off and there was damage to the undercarriage. I told my husband and sent pictures of what It looked like. He called the shop. The manager at first offered to tow his car to get a quote where they saw fit to fix the damages and get him a rental car. The next morning my husband gets off shift to go pick up the rental car. They have no rental car for him whatsoever. So he Ubers to the shop, and calls the police to come and write an incident report. At this point, His car is still sitting on a flat but this time has been driven to the other side of the bay- making MORE damage to the vehicle. He decided to have his own shop bring their tow truck and have it sit at a place he can trust. It is now December 4. My husband has provided the quote to have his car fixed by his regular body shop. The manager said he submitted a claim with corporate who would need to give us the money for it. I called corporate. They had no recollection of this claim. My husband calls the shop back to tell the manager, we get an excuse. He said he will call my husband back, that now the shop owner is responsible for writing his check for his vehicle. He never got a call back. At this point, We keep getting the run around from this shop about fixing his car, and it seems we will need to further pursue this in court. This is now going to be a $3,000 job due to the damages. I saw an incident of the shop employee crashing someone else's vehicle here too- FIRE THIS EMPLOYEE or you're going to have a lot of lawsuits on your plate.. This shop is ridiculously unprofessional and we wouldn't recommend this place to anybody EVER. And now to make it worst, my husband has been 3 weeks without a vehicle, and they refuse to offer to pay for a rental vehicle as they initially said they would provide, since my husband decided to use his own tow truck and own body shop to fix his car outside of who they would've brought his car to. Nice. Glad this is how you treat your firefighters. BEWARE of the manager GERAMY and the employee who crashed it in the first place, STEVE. read more

Found this place via shopping for tires on Amazon and they do the installation with direct-ship for a very affordable price, if you choose that option. Reviews on Amazon were pretty solid so I rolled the dice. Quite happy I did. First and foremost, the manager and clerk were very nice. Oddly enough, they didn't try to do a pressured up-sell for, like, a "premium tire installation package" or alignment, TPS, oil-change, etc....which I wholeheartedly expected and had my "No thank you's" fully locked and loaded for when they did. This was very refreshing to me, honestly, although certain recommendations, like alignments with new tires, are very reasonable to make. The guys were nice. We talked for a little while. They appreciated the business and, ultimately, I think their long-game with Amazon is to hopefully get repeat business when you need other services. Because for what they charge to mount & balance your tires can't have a very good profit margin. I will certainly give them the opportunity when I shop around for future service. I think they'll price-match as well, but I'm not 100% certain. They have a comfortable waiting area. Shell station next door for snacks, and Starbucks/Panera/Sawgrass Mills mall within nearby walking distance if you need to multi-task or kill time. Free air station out front for your tires if you need. Overall, seems like a solid place to get service on your vehicle and I don't suspect you'll be disappointed. read more

I never have any issues when I come here. This past time was no exception. We dropped off car 1 for an oil change, since we had several errands to run. We needed an oil change in the car 2, but the plan was to take it to a drive thru oil change near where we had errands to run. We dropped off car 1 and they were their usual friendly selves. They said it would be maybe an hour to an hour and a half. That was fine with us. We went to take car 2 to the drive thru oil place in Weston and they were so unbelievably rude. They were busy and apparently that means you can bark commands at customers. I said hell to the no and we called Action Gator to see if they could fit in another oil change for us after we picked up car 1. They said they sure could, and so we went and dropped off car 2 (car 1 was now ready, after only maybe 45min!) I had them replace some filters and wiper blades as well (screw you Valvoline in Weston! hope you enjoyed not getting my money!) They charged my wife for an alignment. So before the car was brought in, the inner and outer tie rod on the drive side was replaced and I marked it. When she picked up the car they told her they did there "best" but she needs new tierods. When she got home that day I checked the car. One I noticed the steering wheel was still crooked like to drive straight the wheel had to be sideways. Two when I went under the truck my mark was in the same place. I came in today for a oil change and air-conditioning servicing. Turned my car in at 7:45 and as of 11 o'clock still not ready. The people at the counter are OK but are arguing amongst each other's over things that are happening in this new store. I would not recommend this store at this point because it seems like they might be trying to upsell and change other parts. I will have to get a second opinion from another tire store to see if my struts actually need to be replaced. I don't feel confident here at the store. I've gone to this place several times because my tire pressure was low and my light came on. They have always been beyond nice when I've gone in there. I haven't had any major work done on my car there but every time I go, they are always accommodating.
