The restaurant looked so promising from Instagram and Yelp so we knew we had to go. Upon entering the store, we found ourselves confused and out-of-place. First off, we were not greeted by the three associates working behind the counter. Second, we weren't sure how to order so we had to awkwardly ask the cashier. After paying, we lingered a bit because we weren't sure if we were getting a receipt. Let's just say that there was very minimal exchange between the cashier and us. We took a seat outside because the inside seating was closed off. My girlfriend had to ask how we would retrieve the food because we didn't get a number after the transaction. We were then told that we had to wait close to the counter as the associate would call our name and hand our order. How were we supposed to know that? Anyway, she was nice enough to tell us that she would bring the food over to us. Also, did I mention that no one else was there? We felt so deceived when we saw the Yelp images because it looked so packed. We even consider booking a reservation! That said, we felt so deceived. The wait for food was pretty long but it arrived at the start of our impatience so that wasn't too bad. To our surprise, our food came out as to-go. Strange. The associate never asked if we wanted this to-go and the whole thing made us feel like they didn't even want us there. The food was the most dissatisfying part of this experience. I got the Rueben which was $18! I wouldn't mind paying that kind of money if it was actually worth it. Think really bad Arby's when you get this. It's just so dissapointing to know that I felt cheated by this food and price. Also, my girlfriend got the Cocoa Pebble French Toast. She even showed the cashier a photo of the toast via Instagram to make a point that that's exactly what she wanted. Please take a look at the image I posted of what she got instead. She ate a quarter of the first toast and discarded the rest because it was distasteful. It was way too oily and on the middle of the toast, was a spread that tasted VERY SIMILAR TO MAYO! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. We were so disappointed that we passed up In N Out for this food. We'd rather eat anything else instead of Maxie's. Not a huge fan of getting yelled at. Friend and I were out smoking a cigarette before breakfast and got reprimanded by waitress to pick up our cigarette butts as well as being yelled at about wearing masks before we could ever put one on. YUM! Maxie's was a delicious breakfast spot while visiting Vegas. They have a pretty creative menu, but also have your classic breakfast options. I have 2 reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5. #1 is that they were out of almost all of the donuts and bakery items. They are known for having a wide variety. I was told that they hadn't received their shipment, which I found to be odd. #2 is that the atmosphere is quite bland and boring for a Vegas restaurant. It just needed to be spiced up a bit! However, the food at Maxie's is amazing. I opted for the barbecue pork omelet and my boyfriend chose the bbq pork eggs benedict. The omelet was open faced and served over a delicious bed of oven roasted potatoes. Highly recommend. The benedict was very different, but delicious according to my bf. It was a piece of brioche toast stuffed with pork and cheese, then topped with 2 poached eggs and hollandaise. It was a cool idea, but seemed super messy. Buckle up folks, you're about to go on a journey of the most satisfying brunch in Vegas. We went to Canter's (a.k.a Maxie's (a.k.a. Maxie's Canteria)?) for brunch earlier today. Upon walking in, you could tell that exciting renovations are underway--but don't worry, construction was not audible. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We studied the menu (in search of a life altering sammich) and decided that this was the spot. We were whisked away to a magical land of board game themed tables, where we settled in for Life with mimosas. We ordered the Ruben and the cheesesteak to share, as we're just humans who appreciate the finer things in life--such as variety and tater salad. The food was pretty fantastic when it arrived, it was almost too hot to eat initially (though I'm admittedly a bit of a Nancy when it comes to recently heated food). The cuts of meat were tender and simply delectable, even the scarily orange Russian dressing could have competed with my Grandma Svetlana's. But here's the best part... The one thing that made the entire trip memorable: our meal took longer than the waiter had anticipated. We were in no hurry, nur would we ever complain. Our waiter kept tabs on our food, and when he deemed it was taking a lengthy amount of time, he sent us a plate of pickle spears as an appetizer. Yes, pickles! Imagine how delighted we were! Most people would have no doubt sent bread--which is usually bland and boring. It takes a truly thoughtful and immensely considerate human being to send out a plate of crunchy, zesty veggies that have fallen from the vinegar based heavens above. We were extremely happy with our gift of pickles and definitely spread the word to our friends (and anyone who would listen) about our joyous dining experience at Maxie's Canteria. Wife wanted toast instead of pancakes so their solution is to not give you the pancakes and charge $3 for toast. The server took our order and we never saw her again until she came by with the check. Kitchen staff drops the food off at your table without comment. I dare you to try to get coffee refills or condiments... it's the old "no eye contact " routine. We just gave up. Sometimes I feel like telling these unmotivated workers that they could really increase their tip income if they just cared about their customers a little. Sorry, but as long as people continue to tip for poor service this stuff will continue. Things to know: There is a 3% charge if you don't pay cash. They don't allow substitutions...you will pay for your "substitution" as a side. Just about every item on the menu, even a simple breakfast, starts at about $19 to $20 and goes up (as of July 2023). Do not go here on your Vegas getaway. I am gluten free and read reviews they had gf cotton candy pancakes. Our wait staff was rude and seem to enjoy everything that was not gf. The gf pancakes were awful, inedible. I paid $21 for 2 gf pancakes with chocolate chips. My bill for 1 meal and those pancakes was $63. With so many great restaurants within walking distance, pass this one by and choose one of those. On my next trip to Vegas, I will not be eating here. This place is located in the area between Flamingo and the Linq near the entrance to the high roller. I ordered the waffle stack, the waffle was not good, I really did not care for it. See photo, it was a sad looking waffle. The potatoes on the side were good. My husband ordered the classic, the pancakes were okay. Service was not great, never got a refill on coffee and it took the longest time to pay (like 20 mins). The credit card machines went down so we could only pay with cash. Food was on par with Denny's. read more

Chicken cooked well, the blueberry jam and Mayo weren't too much and the jalapeño really made the sandwich good. And the garlic fries are good. They're not too salty. Located at the foot of the High Roller (large Ferris Wheel), this is our favorite breakfast stop in that part of the strip. Their pancakes are huge so the regular (3 stack) is enough for the average human. Going early is great because it's not hot yet and sitting on the patio is nice, and it isn't crowded. Despite not being crowded though, it took an unusual length of time to get six pancakes (2 regulars). Our waiter was walking around like he just got off an all night bender though so maybe it was him (he also never refilled drinks - which you need when eating pancakes). Otherwise, me and my youngest (a pancake connoisseur) highly recommend...at least for breakfast. Haven't had lunch or dinner there. read more

Maxie's is located on the strip in the Linq Promenade, right next to the High Roller. There is a parking lot right across the street from the High Roller. The food is really good so be prepared to have a small wait time when you arrive. I went on a Friday around 10am and we had to wait about 35 minutes. Upon checking in they ask you how many in your party and ask you for your phone number and send you a text once your table is ready. They serve a variety of foods from waffles to wings. We ordered the French toast with berries and the French toast with egg and bacon. The breakfast was so light but filling. I paid $35 for breakfast for 2 people, the food is definitely reasonable and not the average food prices for the strip. The food was great and the service was top notch.
