    Brisket sandwich w/sidewinder fries
    Rustin L.

I thought this place was really good, and I was satisfied with my sandwich. Good attention to detail, the meat is properly caramelized for optimal flavor and texture. The bbq sauce is not too overwhelming although it is completely mixed in with the meat. The bun is a perfect vessel, not too dense and not so light were it gets soggy and falls apart under the weight of all the sauce. It's nicely toasted with butter, ala in n out style and slightly sweet. Overall a pretty decent sized sandwich, I was full by the last bites. The unique shaped fries were a great combination of crispness, real potato mouth feel and seasoned just right with salt -- no cajun just salt. If I could change one thing, I'd prefer to have the brisket sliced and have bbq over the top. I like to taste the meat separately from the sauce in some bites, especially being a shop that specializes in meats, I want to appreciate it's quality and flavor more, and have that full bite, as opposed to shredded. To use a pasta analogy, I'm more of a sauce over pasta guy and I can control the amounts of sauce, but I can also appreciate fully mixed in as well. Service was very friendly and place had a healthy stream of customers the entire time. I looked around the butcher shop as well, prices are relatively high (I usually only buy what's on sale lol), but would be worthwhile if it's really good quality -- something I'll have to research in the future. For now they get 4 stars, I'm looking to try the steak burger and / or pastrami next time to see if they can wow me enough for a 5.

Don't pass up on this simple deli with limited seating attached to butcher shop. The meat and rolls are so good. The sauces enhance and don't overpower your sandwich. I'm from California and would never eat Tri tip covered in BBQ sauce but this really works. Add slaw for a bit of crunch! The Mac and cheese is delicious but I love those potatoes. They are like a fusion of a steak fry and curly fry. Perfect! The sandwiches are huge... if I didn't consistently overeat there would have been leftovers

I had been wanting to try this place but kept missing it since they close at 7pm. Our friend recommended it. Finally on my husband's day off we were able to give it a try. It looked small from the store front but once inside it's a decent size. Clean and lively but not too crowded. There was no one to greet us as it's actually a meat market, until we approached the counter. There were seats and tables along the side of the wall and stools against the counter. To the left were the seats, to the right side was the market. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with sweet potato tots and a side of their stuffed beignet. The beignet was more like mini donuts. I had beignet in Louisiana and these were not like the beignet I had at Cafe DuMonde. It was the main reason why I wanted to try this place so badly and a bit disappointed tbh. The brisket sandwich was on the dry side, without any dressing. No cheese, no pickle or cole slaw or sauce of any kind. The husband chose pastrami sandwich with side of sindwinder fries. Now his was delicious!! It has cheese sauce, pickles and cole slaw. I had to steal a few bites and had a hard time giving him his pastrami sandwich back lol We shared a bottle of orange sparkling water from the fridge. I had to ask for a glass of ice of which the staff brought to our table along with our food. I recommend they add a sauce of sort and melted cheese or cole slaw to the brisket sandwich and a self help dispenser for water. Otherwise we had a great time eating great food with good service. Thank you Chip off the Block team!

This used to be my favorite burger place, but today was disappointing. I ordered a steak hamburger (medium, no pickles) and waited about 25 minutes. I was really excited, but when I got home and took a bite, I had to spit it out-it was cold in the middle and seemed undercooked. Normally their food is really good, so I'm a bit surprised. I go there often and usually recommend it to friends, so I hope this was just a one-time mistake.

Hello Yelpers! Okay... slightly embarrassing -- my wife and I have eaten at Chip Off the Block Deli four days in a row -- but it's that good. First two visits: BB Smash Burgers with sweet potato tots -- incredible beef flavor thanks to their in-house butcher shop trimmings. Third visit: Buffalo wings, sidewinder fries, and Cookie Butter beignets -- all delicious. Fourth visit: grabbed the roast beef sub "The Cleaver" for our early morning flight to Oregon (02/12). Took a pic and can't wait to dig in tomorrow. If you're craving a legit burger or a great hot or cold sandwich, this place is absolutely worth checking out. Thanks for reading -- take care! Also, service is friendly, and parking can be a challenge ... well worth it :) :) :)

A deli in a butcher shop. Great sandwiches. I had roast beef and provolone. Service was quick. Order at the counter. Pastrami is a favorite. Also the huge tater tots. They bring you the food. Just a basic restaurant. No frills. It's all about the food. A bit out of the way from the strip but worth the trip.

The food and service were both excellent!! The smashburger was exactly what I was craving and it totally hit the spot! The sweet potato tots were perfectly cooked, crunchy and soft! The service was friendly and welcoming, clean space to eat. Just a few small tables inside. Seriously a smart move for Butcher Block to add a deli inside their spot! My only gripe is their current menu situation! It's a small paper menu inside of a sheet protector taped to the counter by the register. When we were there there was someone ordering ahead of us, someone behind us and we had never been, so when we got to the register I was trying to smooth out the menu so we could see it. I asked if there was another menu...the answer was no. I think this is temporary because there were tv screens behind the counter; they were blacked out. So maybe not working?!? Hopefully! They had a good sized menu, but the pressure and stress to not take up too much time at the register was real!! A couple more sheet protected menus people could stand to the side to see would be a great addition to the temporary outage!

Can't believe It took me so long to check this place out after going to the Butcher Block for years! The tri tip bbq sandwich and Philly cheesesteak were bomb! The sidewinder fries and sweet potato tots were also so good! This place has always been busy and now I know why. I will have to plan my butcher runs during lunch time from now on!

I cannot believe I've lived here for a Decade and have not been here!!! Everything was so damn delicious!! Place was nice and clean. There was a deli on the right side and the food deli on the left. Service was good and workers were very friendly. I hade the steak fries, wagyu burger, and I had ordered a clubhouse wrap. When I got home they had accidently gave it in a lettuce wrap, which I didnt mind because I had the fries. However, it was so good as a lettuce wrap anyway I can imagine how much better it would've been in an actual tortilla wrap!!! You can taste the freshness in everything. Omg. I am no longer ordering burgers, fries, or wraps anywhere else but here.

This place needs to be on your list. Really good grub and large portions for the price! We ordered the Italian sandwich and a Tri Tip sandwich and it comes with fries. The fries are different in a good way, crispy outside and soft inside really good. See pic. They also have a meat market and have many seasonings to choose from in there. Sandwich only $10.99 and it will feed 2 people. Service is good the place was not too busy when we got there. It has a cool vibe and its definitely a meat market.

This is one of those places that has been on my must try list, and I finally did! It was my Birthday and I was wanting to have a chill day with friends and family, and with that means a BBQ with quality meats and eats. We arrived to the cute shop as it is divided by the deli and butcher section. You walk in to a very clean and very friendly ambiance! We decided to look at both sides before we made a decision if to stay or go and we ended up not only ordering lunch for the day from the deli but also grabbed fresh meat from the butcher section for an excellent dinner. Everything we ordered was so delicious, the meats were tender and fat was rendered to make the flavors melt in your mouth yummy! We ordered the Butcher Block Italian with everything on it (twice now) The Tri Tip, The Brisket and Pulled Pork Sandwiches, the Clubhouse and the turkey wishbone.... The cheese steak sidewinder fries that were so amazingly delicious that they were craveable the next day We have now been back twice in three days and grabbed not only sandwiches but meats from the butcher shop. Many wonderful meals to come from this great place. I will say, every time I come through the door, we are greeted with kindness, helpful members offering suggestions and help. There is a large clean seating area with two TVs to watch sports or cooking shows, the Coker's are stocked full of game, including duck, ostrich, dog food and so much more!!! If you have been looking for a good deli with tender meat, this is your place to come to! Thank you!!!!

Has the S. Rainbow location opened back up?

    Yes! It's open again

Has the wait time improved? I've been there twice for a sandwich and the wait time was 30-40 minutes during off peak hours.

Not sure how it could be that long? Was there no one serving the deli area? The last 2 times we went there the wait time was under 10 minutes for 2 hot sandwiches. Probably closer to 5-7, but it was only us and one other customer at the… Read more

The sausage was a jalapeño cheddar sausage. For my side, I had mac & cheese and coleslaw. To start off, this is a great place. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars I would but I like to round up. Brisket is really good but a little dry in the mouth. Great Smoky flavor. The mouth-feel was just a little off. It was a little dry, but not bad. The pulled pork was wonderful. Nice Smoky flavor. Nice and tender and juicy. Felt great to chew in my mouth and did not feel dry. A+ for the Pork. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing. Really well done. Flavor was great texture was great. Just a little kick, which was great. I always wish there was more kick, but I understand you got a cater to your customers. One thing I was kind of concerned about was the temperature of the coleslaw. It should be really cold, but it was just kind of a little bit of above lukewarm, but not really cold. Coleslaw should be cold. The mac & cheese was pretty good. Needs a little bit more liquid in it but the flavor was awesome. And it looks like they prepackage the Mac 'n cheese in containers and then sprinkle some cheese on top. That's a nice touch, but it makes the whole container of mac & cheese dry out. They only have one barbecue sauce. It was pretty good. But to me the best way to judge barbecue is if it doesn't eat barbecue sauce. And this did not need barbecue sauce. It was just a nice addition. Great ambience. Great music playing. Very clean and well kept area. I would definitely come back when I'm on this side of town.

Still moist and juicy. They ask you if you want a lean or fatty cut on the brisket. She chose lean (I would have chosen fatty ) Their regular barbecue sauce made everything better. The green beans were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The baked beans were a tiny bit sweet. The fries were perfect. The mac and cheese had good flavor but the pasta was overcooked.
