Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with our waiter. He took our order and then essentially disappeared--we didn't see him again until we had to wave him down for the check. Honestly, we wish the bus staff had been our server. We shared the seafood salad, which felt more like a single-person portion than something meant to share. I had the filet of sole Francese, and my husband ordered the chicken Pugliese, today's special. The fish was good, but I wasn't particularly wowed--the food wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out. While there were some nice touches, the inconsistent service and lack of standout dishes make it hard for us to return.

The Alfredo sauce was watery and not as creamy (the ratio was bit off). For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and the rum cake. The rum cake had generous amounts of rum. Overall we have had better food and service. Thankfully we were able to dine in as walk ins at the very last minute. We have had better food and experiences at other neighborhood Italian restaurants.

Even my brother, who's a very picky eater, thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The food smelled so incredible on the drive home that I was honestly tempted to pull over and eat it in the car. For takeout, you exit the main entrance and walk around the corner to the back of the building, where they have a separate area serving pizza and other quick bites. When I arrived around 5:30 p.m., the restaurant was bustling, and the takeout counter was lined with orders waiting to be picked up. They also offer outdoor dining. While I was waiting, I noticed the portions being served to diners at the bar, and they definitely don't skimp. The servings are generous, which makes the value even better. The second and most recent time we went was for dinner with the a huge group of moms. We shared the Caesar salad, Brussels sprouts, and general two's cauliflower, which was amazing. I had the red sangria and a taste of the Huckleberry lemonade, drinks were strong. For the entrees I ordered the salmon and once again portion was huge, took it home and the hubby ate the leftovers. My past three visits were disappointing, the dough wasn't spun properly leaving uneven thickness resulting in raw dough at the thick sections of pie, the cheese is no longer the same it's rubbery a low quality mozzarella. Todays pie was bad, seriously, I ate a couple of slices and trashed the remainder. Previously I excepted the possibility of a new guy being trained but three in the row not to mention the rubbery cheese indicating cutting corners which I'm puzzled about as the cost of the pie is now $23.75 that's $12 a slice this time around for me with a pending stomach ache. I can't rate a pie I had to toss in the trash, as in baseball three strikes you're out.

While ambiance isn't everything, it does contribute to the overall dining experience. For us, the biggest drawback is location. At about a 25-minute drive from home, we didn't find the experience compelling enough to justify a return visit. There are simply too many other restaurants on our list that we'd rather try or revisit. While we don't regret giving it a chance, it's probably a one-and-done visit for us.
