Really enjoyed our take out from May Thai. We tried it for the first time and ordered the pumpkin curry, eggplant dish and Pad Thai. Flavor was really good on all three. They are exactly as you'd expect on these dishes compared to other Thai restaurants we tried in the Bay Area. The Pad Thai had a bit more sauce than to our usual liking. Portions were all solid for the price you pay. Note that typical for many Thai and some Asian restaurants, rice is ordered separately and the curry and eggplant entrees were delicious with rice as there was plenty of flavor from the sauces. I love Thai food but over time....monkey Thai at south shore has been increasing they're price. 2 dishes for $53??? No thanks! and toomies is just wayyy too high price for bad quality food and the place smells like mold. Absolute BEST Thai food! Flavors were on point and all food and drinks had a beautiful presentation! We ordered prawn pad thai, crispy rice salad and beef panang curry- plus Thai tea. We visited May Thai on the Sunday before thanksgiving. It's been busy since the holiday season started. Three of us were dining for dinner and two of us Re vegetarians. The food was beyond delicious. We ordered the coconut milk soup with tofu (vegetarian), side order of rice noodle to go with the soup - the best combo ever; pad Thai with beef; pineapple fired rice with tofu and pad see ew (custom made vegetarian version). The owner P was amazing, and super attentive. We originally wanted to order the pad thai with Tofu and she was honest with us that the pad thai source is not vegetarian and it won't taste like padthai without the source so she recommended the pad see ew instead, which turned out to be prefect. Not many restaurant would care about little details like that. Her effort in making sure that our dishes are vegetarian is above and beyond. She also check in with us about the food after they were served. It's definitely a five star restaurant for the excellent food, amazing customer service and warm/cozy atmosphere. It was the worst experience ever. First of all, it took them almost 50 minutes to serve a salad. The reason why they were so slow because they made the take-out orders first. Me and my friends just saw so many was waiting in front of the kitchen window. If you are looking for a real Thai food, then don't choose there. my mom and i love thai food and are always looking for new places to try. we stumbled upon may thai kitchen and we instantly loved the vibe. the hostess/server was extremely sweet and let us come in and sit down even though they were closing within 10 minutes of our arrival. we ordered right away and our food and drinks were out in less than 20 minutes! the drinks were amazing, i highly recommend the thai iced tea with coconut milk and the butterfly lemon tea. for food, we ordered the basil fish with pineapple and crab fried rice. the portions were so big! my mom and i shared both orders and had extra to take home. the main server/hostess was extremely sweet and patient. they were so welcoming and made us feel wanted and important. i definitely recommend coming here with literally anyone. i plan on taking all my friends and family back here in the near future! thank you may thai kitchen! read more

The salad rolls came with two kinds of yummy sauce, the Pad Thai was the best I've had in the East Bay, and the pad krapow was tasty even though my sister ordered it mild. The pad krapow rice plate came with a fried egg with crispy edges, so good. Service was great, and the ambience was warmer than the pictures show. I was very excited to try a new Thai place in Alameda and with all the 5 star reviews my hopes were high. Unfortunately, I don't know if I'll be back. Three curries without rice came to a total of $66... just really expensive. We all got the least spicy level and still had a very hard time enjoying the food. Especially my older father who was wheezing the entire time he ate the food. I felt that the curries were far too watery and lacked flavor. Maybe I will have to try one of their noodle dishes but I was pretty disappointed with the curries. read more

I was sick this past weekend so was pleasantly suprised when Vernon brought home a salad for me from May Thai Kitchen. To be honest, I also was a little annoyed because it was a weird salad, something I never would have ordered for myself. Papaya salad but with tomatoes, onions, carrots, cilantro, and a sauce. I thought to myself, why didn't you get me something that you know that I like instead of this strange salad. Who mixes tomatoes with papaya? But... I really like this tasty salad. i've been wanting to check out this restaurant for awhile now and i'm so happy i got to! the atmosphere feels cozy yet not cluttered. the presentation of this restaurant might be second only to the presentation of the food. each dish was beautiful and many were even decorated with real orchids. my dish (pad see ew with no egg, tofu, and added scallions) was extremely large and definitely a good amount of food for the price. it was also absolutely delicious. all of the staff are lovely and attentive people. will definitely be coming here again, a wonderful experience. :) read more

I ordered delivery from here and got the Thai Street Food with ground chicken, sticky rice, and wings. I didn't realize the Thai Street food came with rice already so that was my bad (it was in the description). I like what they did with the sticky rice. It comes in a layer of plastic wrapping with aluminum foil. I appreciated the freshness of the rice but it wasn't a whole lot. It was just enough for maybe 1-2 people but given the other dish had rice it wasn't an issue. The reason I'm giving this 1 star is the ground chicken was chewy and looked undercooked. I began to feel nauseous and ended up throwing it away to play it safe. I shifted my attention to the wings and the meat was slightly pink. Not only that but they also looked like someone just threw wings into a fryer, poured over some sweet and sour sauce with a few basil leaves and called it a day. read more
