I'm shocked to see less than 5 stars here. It is a FANTASTIC place! It is however, a very laid back environment and NOT fast food. Get a drink, chill with your people and enjoy. The ahi tacos are my favorite, diablo burger is also amazing, but the heat is for real. These guys and girls bend over backwards to take care of us. It is a family friendly bar enviroment, so if you go there expecting that, I don't see how you can leave disappointed. Highly recommended. read more

this is solely from a delivery driver perspective. I have not personally eaten here. The restaurant is near a bank. They share a parking lot and its small. But its easy to go park in the safeway parking lot so that is not a problem. Honestly that is probably better because the parking lot is small and tight in my opinion. The restaurant and space seemed clean. I walked in with a mask as required by my delivery job and i got a lot of stares. that is fine. just doing what i had to do. Was not sure where to go to do pick up as i had never been there before. The guy told me it would be a 3 minute wait that they were just finishing up and then he left. 15 minutes later i got the food :( was not happy. It was really not worth what i was getting paid to sit there and wait that whole time. i probably would have cancelled the order and let someone else pick it up if he had been honest about the timing. The person had 1 item on their order. Was not overly impressed with the friendliness of the staff nor the wait time. Could smell the smoke from driving by, so we decided to stop in. Great idea! Best fish & chips I've had in a while. Served smokin' hot with a great crispy batter. Hubs enjoyed his brisket sandwich. BBQ sauce is like wine; you like what you like. Since he makes/sells his own sauce, it's hard to find something to compare. They did a good job & definitely worth a return trip! Ok, I might be too much of a foodie for the Cove. Friends love it but it just wasn't my speed. Drinks were high sugar, high liquor content. Food was pretty mid with mostly fried options. I think this is what you might consider a "drinkers place". You come for the happy hour specials not the culinary delights. No harm in that. Had the 2 meat combo plate the meat had no seasoning it was smoked very well didn't have any kind of seasoning to it. Mac n cheese and fried pickles were good but the meat having no seasoning to it just put a bad taste in my mouth. And what really got me was that I had one drink and some chips and queso which was good and then I had the 2 meat combo and it came up to 42$. To me the quality was not there for the price that they are charging. If the meat wasn't so bland it would have been worth it. read more

But the waitperson said they haven't served that in quite some time. So why does it appear on your menus (both online and in-person)? In haste, I settled for a $13 quesadilla to which chicken was added for $2; all in all it was a $15 disappointment. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and was pleased. Here's some unsolicited advice: If you cannot afford to have your on-site menus updated, just take a roll of black tape and cover the discontinued items. This pains me to write this review. We have been going to Maya Cove since it opened. We took our children there, had special occasions there, and it was always our go to when we wanted to grab a meal at a local place. We supported them through the pandemic with numerous and frequent pickups. My spouse went there tonight to grab wings and a burger to bring home. While having a drink while waiting he witnessed a customer reaching over the bar and grabbing olives out of the bar container, heard the f-bomb about every other word, the wings were burnt, and the burger was awful-the bun was so stale it fell apart and the bbq sauce that was supposed to be on it was non-existent. We could have had a comparable meal at McDonald's. We will not be returning which is very sad because we really value supporting local businesses. read more

I went here because I had a coupon. There was one waitress working the whole restaurant, that is so messed up! I sat in the back which smelled like cleaner because it was right next to the back kitchen which didn't have a door. When I got my salad, I tried their mango dressing and it no joke tasted exactly like nail polish remover. Since there was only waitress I didn't see her again until I got my coconut shrimp. Once I got my coconut shrimp it was so deep fried and oily there was no coconut flavor because the few flakes were so burnt and my frozen shrimp fell right out of the fried casing. read more

A big group of friends and us went here on a Friday night to grab some margaritas. The place was absolutely dead. I don't know if it's always dead, or if it was because it was just before closing time, but it was so empty that it was eerie. Anyways, we all ordered margaritas, which were decent, strong, and cheap. All of us had already eaten, so I think the server was pissed that we were just ordering drinks... but, idk. Great place! This restaurant supports many local non profit organizations in their community by providing excellent quality food and services. I had the bbq sandwich which was HUGE! Steve, the owner came out and was very friendly and welcoming, he told us about his wide selection of food. If you have a picky eater they will surely find something they like. The staff was great and came to fill my drink 4 times and never let it go down half way. Overall, it is a unique little place which has great owner and friendly staff. It's comfort food at its best. Wait staff do not wear masks and there's a sign on the door encouraging customers to do the same - citing county regulations to wear a mask but not Maya Cove. So clever! My husband and I went here today for lunch. My lunch was good. I left very full and happy. We had the crab cakes with a mango salsa as a starter...it was very good. The lime chicken I had didn't have much flavor but it didn't taste bad or anything. The place was empty so it was nice and quiet. The reason for only three stars was because I did notice that it is pretty dirty. The floors were dirty, the carpet needs to be replaced, doors were dirty etc. A lot if the signs on the walls say the same things over and over. I did enjoy the time with my husband but don't know if we will be back unless they clean the restaurant a bit better. I always have to note that the owner was our waiter and he was very kind. I've gone to this place several times for drinks and some food. Normally I don't have too much trouble. Unfortunately I recently went and ordered some chicken wings. It was like eating a mouthful of salt in each bite of each of the 2 wings I ate. I told the waitress it was inedible and she clearly didn't care. The owner (Steve) also didn't care. We usually go later on a weekend night if they have live music, so maybe we've got a different perspective.The food is good, the workers are friendly, and it's got a locals feel (in a good way). My wife and I decided to give this place a shot since we had coupon for a free entree with the purchase of 1 entree and 2 drinks at regular price. As soon as I sit down (seat yourself service) I grab my smartphone and immediately open up my Yelp app. I wanted to see how this place was, what to order, etc. Boy was I surprised to see the reviews of this place. I read the review from Anna B. and look at my wife and said I don't think this coupon is a good idea. So, we put it away and opted to not have a hassle with the bill. The owner/manager of the joint came over gave us the menus and left without even offering a standard water glass, which we later asked for. As a HUGE beer fan, I love to see a good variety of craft beer available; however, it was apparent that the only they wanted to sell was Bud-Light and Landshark based off of every 1 out of 2 pieces of decor in the place. I had to ask what beers they had and I was please to find that they had a few locally brewed beers at least. I ordered the smoked pork tacos and she had the jerk chicken salad. She thought hers was fine, but kinda skimpy according to the $11 price tag. My tacos were actually really good! The rice and beans were okay, but who orders for the sides anyways. I would go back for the food. It's not the best Mexican but I'd put the flavor on par with Chipotle (almost). I'd give them more stars except the food was really slow to come out for what we ordered. I'd expect more time with some things, but not tacos and a salad. The service was good, but there needs to more options in the beer menu - a fact for any eatery in Ft. Collins. If I could be any more critical it would be the bizarre style and decor of this place. My wife and I were joking that this place is the owner's response to a midlife crisis. Meh. The food is good, not great. The service is friendly, but not prompt. The happy hour is mediocre - the drink specials are for select tropical drinks and Mexican beers only (bleh). On the bright side, they do have some good beers on tap (Odells IPA at our last visit). If you are a Jimmy Buffet fan, this place is for you; if not, you may find the restaurant's theme obnoxious. I usually only go to Maya Cove when my roommate in town (he works out of state), because he enjoys frequenting this place. The staff is friendly, for the most part, and the food is decent. The beer on tap selection though is not up to par with basically anywhere else in FoCo, though. It is a smallish type establishment; with a customer base that probably prefers Budweiser over anything else anyway, so maybe they really don't feel the need to cater to a clientele with broader tastes in brew, but it is what it is. This themed bar definitely has a style all of its own. Atmosphere: It would be in-correct to call this another "beach themed" bar rather than the remnants of a beach party. Upon walking in our senses where overwhelmed with bright vinyl table clothes, dark painted walls and cheap palm tree decorations.The music selection was mostly The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Jimmy Buffet and other 70's flashbacks which most likely appealed to the crowd sitting at the bar. This was clearly a locals kind of hang out. Service: We sat at the bar and the service was good. The owner was wandering around greeting customers in a friendly manner when we got there. Drinks: There are four beers on tap - one being Mardi Gras Bock and of course LandShark by Jimmy Buffet. Our mission that day however, was mai-tai's and margaritas. The mai-tai was spot on. The margaritas were served in an old mason glass jar much like you would find at southern bbq places when ordering a glass of sweet tea. Food: The menu displays Caribbean influenced meals like the Sweet Island Pork sandwich and the Caribbean Steak Tacos as well as salads, burgers and soups. We opted to try the nachos with chicken, listed on the appetizer menu, to play it safe. They were not the best or worst nachos we have ever had, but how hard is it to mess up nachos? read more

When I think of what a neighborhood bar should be, I think of Maya Cove. The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic and the drinks flow quickly at a great price. You can tell the owner takes pride in the establishment. We truly enjoyed our experience and can't wait to go back for a catagory 3 Hurricane and a Po' Boy. The bar is "cozy" and only has about 10 barstools but there are quite a few low an high top tables plus a restaurant area and a small " back room" with couches, TV and tables. The bathrooms are spacious and well kept. We will definitely be back read more

This place needs to be on the TV show "Restaurant Impossible". Everything was dusty, signs on the wall were hanging off, our menus were dirty with what looked like old food.
