MayaFlor is in my neighborhood and I absolutely adore this place! I've been here at least 10 times and brought countless friends along, all of whom have fallen in love. They have some of the best chilaquiles you'll find in SF (pro tip: ask for them divorciados if you, like me, can't choose between salsa roja or verde). The staff are wonderfully warm and friendly, and service is fast. Do yourself a favor and just check this place out! read more

Great food and lovely service! the restaurant was playing great music as well the ambience felt nice and cozy. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was delicious! The custard french toast was also fluffy and delicious with a nice creamy custard filling that was not overpowering! It had a great balance, the empanadas were also yummy and I loved the salsa that came with it! Lastly was the Cazuela, which is a special, and it was delicious! Will definitely come again! They are doing dinner now! Very nice, cozy neighborhood place. To be clear - the Mexican food is Yucatan style with its unique dishes and flavors. Different from what most "gringos" like myself view as Mexican food. Truly unique and with a Mayan flair. Also - one one the owners is from Peru. Do not miss the traditional Peruvian dinners that are hearty and really tasty. I'd go for Lomo (beef dish) or Peruvian chicken. Very clean little restaurant in lower Nob Hill. Food was freshly cooked and the server was attentive without being intrusive. I loved the Chicharrón sandwich! I'd admittedly been hesitant to try this place, as cute as it looks walking by, because the posted menu didn't appear to have a ton of plant-based items. However, I'm so glad I did as the server and chef were happy to accommodate to customize items. I got the sopas with assorted veggies instead of the meat on top, and they were SO GOOD! Tried this week & found the food quite good. Chose the rojo chilaquiles & a half order of challah french toast. Chilaquiles looked small but the rich flavours of the various elements came together substantially. Chips were really good & perfectly crispy. French toast was fantastic--surfaced was beautifully carmelized & real maple syrup(!!) to seal the deal. Definitely recommend, will be back for more. read more

Such delicious food! I went during brunch hours and had such a hard time deciding what to get. The kind server recommended the pozole, which was perfect for the foggy weather. The dish was a flavorful soup comprised of a rich broth, hearty hominy, a d delicate pork with thick cut chips and a side of garnishes. I enjoyed deciding how much of what to add to each bite. We ate here on Saturday around Noon. We had been in the long line across the street for brunch but noticed this place right across the street. I checked on Yelp and it was highly rated so we decided to try this instead. We were so happy we did! Seated right away, friendly service, and delicious food. I had the cochinitas pibil "tostadas" on mini, home made corn tortillas which were delicious and a side of fried plantains which were served with fresh crema. The teens started with home made tortilla chips and pico de gallo (delicious). One teen had the French toast with fresh berries was offered as a half order which was perfect at two nice sized slices and an iced caramel latte. My son had a version of a Benedict with poached eggs, carnitas, fresh guac, and hollandaise atop a freshly made corn cake (can't remember what it was called but my son loved it). Our server was attentive and chatty. We would definitely come back! read more
