Oh my oh my! This place quite an extensive menu, something for pretty much everyone. I got the crab cakes that had the most excellent sauces and were on a bed of grilled corn and cabbage. Yum. My partner and I went out to Mayan Fusion as we love going to this place whenever we are in town. I was saddened to learn that they had discontinued their Mayan Fusion version of clam chowder, which I had fallen in love with. The server said that no one ordered it, and always requested the traditional variety. This makes me sad as it is just another example of white people with their pedestrian flavor profiles not wanting to step out of their comfort zone. Our last foodie stop of our trip. We came back to Mayan Fusion since our last visit was so memorable. This time was memorable too, but not in a good way. While we had top notch service from our waiter, the food this time around was not as good as we remembered. We ordered the Mayan clam chowder, octopus ceviche, NY kebabs, Mayan cioppino and lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Besides the octopus ceviche, everything was sadly bland. I was hoping the Mayan clam chowder would have some spices in it since it was labeled as "Mayan clam chowder (red)"--it did not. The NY kebabs were also bland. The flavors in this dish came from the chimchurri and chips that it came with. The meat wasn't tender and didn't even taste salted. The cioppino too was also lacking flavor, the best part was actually the toast on the side. I'm hoping this was just a fluke since we came right when they opened for lunch and were the very first people there. We have liked our experiences here before and hopefully when we come back it'll be as good as we had from previous visits. read more

I was expecting more spice and flavor from these in comparison to the other fish and chip spots in Fort Bragg, but it was a little disappointing. The menu has a great mix of Mayan, Mexican and some local American food like clam chowder. There really is something for everyone. We were dining with our two kids. It was very family friendly and accommodating. The kids menu is also diverse. Everything from buttered noodles and chicken fingers to bean and cheese burritos, nachos and more. We got quickly seated on a busy Saturday in late July we were offered water right away. I ordered the Panucho plate with no meat to make it vegan. The good was plated beautifully and was delicious. Salmon we ordered was ok, however we ordered Fish n chips halibut for $37 for a meal. It came with 3 really small fish the size of the fingers put together and a handful of fries. For $37 that was a stupid amount of $$$ for that. On top of it, the halibut was over cooked and was hard. The waitress we had was giving us attitude and when we got the check, she said a party of 5 needs to pay a gratuity but the price you pay is up to you. #1 we had two kids with us that didint even order as they ate from our plates because they are small. #2 You never checked up on us throughout the entire meal, never gave us water refills, never asked us how the food was, etc. You were lucky we gave any tip at all as we should not have given any since we never got any service except food being brought to us. We are from out of town and this was our first time visiting this wonderful town, but they did manage to put a bad taste in our minds. $105 for three plates of food. 2 of them were ok and the halibut was just plain sad especially with the service we got. We've been going to Fort Bragg several times a year for as long as I can remember but only dined here for the first time back in March. Wow! My husband and I went there to try it out and I can't believe it'd taken us that long to stop in and try this place. The food and service were fantastic, both were top notch. I'm still thinking about their tortillas. I make my own at home but they're nothing like what we had with dinner. When we visited again in July, this time with our kids ages 15 and 10, same experience. Great food and incredible service. Our kids have declared this their new favorite restaurant in Fort Bragg. I'm already counting down the days until my husband and I are back in late September. The customer service was very polite and kind. I enjoy going to places like this where the atmosphere is so lovely. The place was well decorated and the food was amazing. We decided to split a burrito together as we had dinner reservations some place else but we did take tequila shots before devouring our burrito. Mayan Fusion has had an overhaul on the menu and flavors since my last visit here! It may possibly now be one of my must places to stop by in Mendocino/Fort Bragg area! It gets busy, and we were here for Christmas weekend, but were seated almost immediately. Service is always great and the staff are so friendly and happy to share recommendations. They carry some good vegetarian options. We got the Papatzul, Mayan Salad and Zucchini to start. The Papatzul is a Mayan dip made with roasted tomatoes, habanero and cilantro. So flavorful and it comes with the best house made Tortilla chips. Highly recommend it. The Mayan Salad was great too, with Jicama, Orange, Grapefruit, roasted beets, queso fresco served on a bed of greens. Very refreshing. Zucchini was okay-ish, lightly breaded with a tomato reduction and fresh basil. For main course, we got Tex-Mex Nachos and Pesto Pasta. The pesto pasta is a new addition to the menu and I could see why. Outstandingly amazing pasta!!! The nachos were good too. Overall an amazing lunch to celebrate the festive season with my fam! The food were not that good. The seafood inside the cioppino were cut into small tiny pieces, didn't know what kind of seafood we were eating besides the shrimps, seafood not that fresh too. Also the grilled pork chop not that good neither. Clam linguini so so too. We had 4 people only, but the staff charged us 20% compulsory gratuity for 6 people or more as stated on the menu, we didn't notice before we left the restaurant. Besides, that same staff very rude to us. We took 1 more chair to put our backpacks, but she was not very polite to ask to take the chair back while there were still many empty chairs inside the restaurant. She also didn't put the dishes to us, we had to take them from her hands, so strange to serve customers. We will not go to that restaurant again. Food was about a 4 star review. The Torta was a little unimpressive. The halibut was truly wonderful in flavor and texture from the salsa. The sweet corn was yummy too. Service was 5 star. Our server was really nice and despite us walking in 40 minutes before closing, he was patient and provided his recommendations. We sat in the outdoor section (under the tent) since we have our dog with us. The server was always checking in on us. The restaurant is colorful and just feels very cozy. I'm in fort Bragg for a mini getaway with a friend. We decided to come here to eat due to the unique fusion inspired dishes, but unfortunately, we won't be able to try it. We tried eating here on Friday, April 29, 2022 at around 7 pm. We got there around 7:10 pm and were seated by 7:15 pm. We waited... And... Waited... And waited. The restaurant was full, and most of the other tables were already eating or getting their food. Still, no one came by even once to greet us, bring us water or take our order. The servers kept bypassing our table to bring other costumers their orders, or checks and was only serving them. The atmosphere did not feel friendly at all. My friend said she kept getting stares from a table next to ours (family group of 5-6 people) and it made her feel extremely uncomfortable and uneasy. At 7:45 pm, we just walked out. 30 minutes and not one person even said they'd get to us soon or will be with us. Such a shame since they have great reviews. We went to Asian fusion down the street after leaving and got water, ordered our food, and received the food all within 15-20 minutes of getting there. They close at 8:30 pm BTW and we left around 8:35 pm so we were in and out within 40 minutes. That's how service should be. I WILL NOT be back here. read more

The ambiance was pleasant... it took about 5 minutes to be seated. They don't take reservations, so its first come first serve. We had the calamari to start. It was good and crispy. I followed with a myan salad which was very tasty but had just a bit to much dressing, so maybe suggest dressing on side. I finished off with a clam chowder, since I had been craving one all day. Ahh! My very favorite spot in the whole of Mendocino County, and beyond, is Mayan Fusion. The restaurant is cheerful and bright and I had a favorite seat by the window. Lilli seated me and made me feel welcomed back. As usual, I ordered enough for an army as I like to take leftovers, and what a feast it was! Shrimp ceviche and coconut prawns for starters. And then I decided to change up the entree and had the cioppino. What a great choice that was ! Deep, rich broth with fish and shrimps and my favorite tiny clams.
