Extra points for being dairy free as milk is not my bodies friend. The tamale however was a major let down. I was so close to just sending it back, but was on a time crunch and starving. The masa was so salty. The mole sauce was barely existent and had no complexity or flavor really. I didn't taste the chocolate or the Chile . Just blah. The toppings and horchata helped make it possible to consume despite the saltiness. So overpriced salty tamale gets 2 stars, ambiance 5, and horchata 5, which is why this place gets a three stars overall. They were a much needed respite, who were reasonable, understanding and didn't need a bunch of unnecessary rules. Their offerings are outstanding and just what I would be offering if this were my cafe. Great chocolates, great drinks, great atmosphere, super people that work there and are engaging. Each time we've been back in town we've visited and brought our friends. Truly an oasis in the desert.
