Fajitas, meat was a bit over cooked but still delicious.
    Sabrina L.

We just arrived in town and was hungry. We came in and was seated right away. Our server was awesome. We told her we were going to share because we didn't want left over as we were staying in a hotel. We got the single order of fajitas and a burrito she recommended that she didn't think there would be any left orders. We got our food within 15 minutes. Our fajitas were still sizzling and lokked huge. My husbands burrito looked more like an enchilada as it didn't look stuffed. As we dug into our food the fajitas was delicious but the meat was a bit overcooked. It was more well done rather than medium. My husband, though disappointed as how flat his burrito was, said that it was really good. Normally he can't finish a whole burrito but he was able to finish this one which is what we wanted so I guess the server knew it was not as filling as the other burritos they offer. This would have been a 5 star if the fajitas meat was medium and maybe the burrito looked like a burrito rather than an enchilada. With that being said, we were very happy with this place.

It's decent Mexican food, but prices are a little high, especially at lunch although the portions are pretty generous. I've been here a couple of times prior to when they closed during Covid shutdown and just went back for the 1st time since they reopened. I ordered the pork chile verde burrito the other day. It was pretty straight forward except the pork seemed like it was cut into chunks rather than shredded or torn like I'm used to and the salsa verde had larger pieces of chile/tomatillo in it, which I liked. Overall, it tasted pretty good and I was able to bring home a portion for a lunch this weekend. My buddy ordered the chile colorado and we both agreed it had an unusual sweetness to it, almost akin to a mole. I think I'll stick with the chile verde in the future. My other buddy who ordered the carnitas burrito said it was good and a ton of meat.

This was the best taco salad ( for just $11!!) I gave EVER had. The food was fresh and homemade. The restaurant is a family restaurant and fantastic. Great service too. I highly recommend it!

Seafood burrito again and the first burrito listed on the menu. Can't remember what it was called exactly.

Reminds me of an authentic Mexican fine dining restaurant I used to work at in college in Albany New York with frogs mostly from Pueblo and Oaxaca dot-dot-dot and Guadalajara. It was nice to see some options besides the usual burrito, even though that's what I ended up getting and seafood form haha. Definitely need to come back for some of the more traditional dishes like camarones ala Diabla and huevos rancheros. I've yet to find anyone that makes a chimichanga comparable 2 my first experience at my old restaurant. I have a feeling this place might pull it off though. My homie grew up in Bend here and said that they used to serve a bean type of dip along with the table chips and salsa but we didn't see any of that and didn't have the confidence to ask about it. We were so pleased with the warm chips and salsa that came out. We also asked about a hotter salsa and she whipped up a small batch from scratch for us with a lot of red pepper in it. It was great. If I had to complain about anything it would be that when I asked for hot sauce she brought Tapatio. We all know that Cholula is the good stuff. I grabbed a bottle from the server station on my way back from the bathroom and carried on my merry way feasting. Will definitely be back. As for portion size, it was satisfying for the price. I was planning to bring half home but it was so yummy I couldn't stop eating. Plus, who wants leftover seafood burrito when you can gorge yourself on the fresh bounty instead?

Good food. I had the pork verde burrito and my hubby ordered the carnitas. Very tasty, and the margaritas were great. Would go back again.

Good stuff. But five dollar up charge for steak is ridiculous. And it's for a 14$ combination plate. Wtf isn't that expensive enough? Asked for hotter salsa and he made some custom stuff with some fresh jalapeños Very good Friend ice cream is excellent as well Little pricey and would like the hot salsa to be a bit more refined (mostly tasted like jalapeños and seeds)

After all that hard work, our family always ends up back at El Rodeo. It's our go-to spot and has been for years. The service is always great and the people working there are genuinely friendly and kind. It feels like a real family restaurant where they're happy you showed up. The bar is also a fantastic place to grab a drink or margarita, play a little video poker, and end up talking to half the locals in Bend. Somehow you go in for dinner and leave feeling like you attended a neighborhood reunion. The food is exactly what you want when you're craving Mexican: hot, good, and a lot of it. I have never once left there hungry or disappointed. Plates show up looking like they were designed for a lumberjack who skipped lunch. They recently remodeled the bar, which looks nice... but personally I believe Mexican restaurants should be built once in about 1987 and then left exactly the same forever. It's part of the charm. That said, the remodel won't stop me from going back regularly. Great people, great food, strong margaritas, and the kind of place that makes Bend feel like home. Five stars all day.

We arrived around 230 on a Wednesday and were surprised how many people were coming and going. After our experience, we understand why. We got in the short, quick line and looked over the specials and menu while waiting. I ordered the heirloom salad (but got the macha salsa on the side because I'm wimpy) and the elote corn, both on the " very, very specials" board. Randy ordered the chicken tinga taco and the carnitas taco and an order of chips and salsa. Corina got the beef and broccoli which came with a side of Jasmine rice. Everything was delicious although Randy was missing a couple things: a spicier salsa and thinner chips. I thought they were fine but he is quite particular where chips and salsa are concerned. He enjoyed the tacos, loved that they were street tacos and thought the carnitas were a little more flavorful but both were good. My salad was fresh and flavorful, all the components (minus the spicy macha salsa) made it exactly what I was hoping for. The corn was buttery, creamy, flavorful. The best I've had. It's a whole piece of corn broken in half and slathered with all the goodness with some slaw, cotija and lime on the side. Corina's beef and broccoli was scrumptious. I don't normally enjoy that dish but this one was excellent. The meat was flavorful and not grisly and the broccoli was cooked perfectly, not mushy. It was a huge portion. After eating a piece of the corn, she's got beef broccoli leftovers. Randy also got a raspberry soda which was good, not super sweet, and Corina got the apple mint lemonade which was very good. Everyone was nice and helpful and the music was a good level, plenty of seating. Apparently some outside too. We absolutely are looking forward to going back. PS picture of the wallpaper in the bathroom just because I loved it.

Needs one guy serving drinks and answering questions about the menu, and one person taking orders. The food was Chinese fusion with Mexican influences and we got mala noodles, 1 shrimp taco, and fried chicken. I'm Chinese and my husband is Mexican, so in theory this place would be right up our alley. However the shrimp taco's tortilla was not made fresh which is is the whole point of the taco (the salsa and the tortilla). The chicken was decent but not spectacular. The mala noodle was good on flavor (kudos for keeping the "ma" part intact) and probably the best part of the meal, but the rice noodle needs to be cooked 1-2 minutes less.

Carmen's Famous Tortilla Soup looked really tasty as well, so it looks like I have a reason to return. Alcohol including tequila is also served along with refreshing aqua frescos. Our food came out fairly quickly and it was hot and ready to eat. Tacos were juicy and the eloté although not the best I have ever had still provided good flavor.
