Mazatlan Salad double meet - fresh and yummy

The bean dip was over the top incredible; the best I've had (and I've had hundreds)! The refried beans are perfect and I decided to try something new, a spinach enchilada. OMG!!!!! So so so good, taste, texture and freshness all an A++. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed my dish, the shrimp was delicious! There were 5 big shrimp perfectly cooked with a little spicy flavor, the onion tasted good and also the mushrooms in it. I also liked the chips which were warm when they served it. Friendly nice service, colorful decorations. Food portion big, had to take a big box home.

Food was ok. Tortillas were very sad. If I were you just head over to La Roca or even the Sand bar . Just saying

The green sauce is HOT (and good) the red sauce?! Is OMG- GOOD! Smokey, lightly spicy-I need a whole cup to bring home to add to everything! Meal came with a side of toasty chips! So imagine my surprise when I came to OREGON of all places and had to admit... okay Oregon, you got this one. This place is officially California Mexican-food-snob approved. The chips and salsa they bring to the table? ON POINT. The beans? Perfect. The chile verde burrito? Absolutely BOMB. That sauce had no business being that good. I would've happily taken a gallon of it home. The Michelada? Nailed it. The carne asada was a little dry, so California is keeping one tiny point for ourselves. But everything else was seriously delicious. Service was fast and genuinely friendly, the restaurant was clean, AND the bathroom was clean because some of us absolutely factor bathroom cleanliness into restaurant reviews. I came in prepared to judge Oregon Mexican food. I left humbled, full, and slightly offended that Oregon pulled it off this well. *10/10 would betray California again.

It has seats inside but yet you order at the counter, find your own seat and wait for the counter person to yell at what you ordered to go pick it up. Then, of course, the tab asks how much you want to tip. Well, NO. Inside is clean, a little run down but appeared clean. Everything else appeared pretty worn out. Not the food .... we both ordered taco salads and we were definitely pleased with the taco salads. They were very good. Next we cleaned up our table, dumped items in the trash and stored the tray. The big question is would we go back. Yes. We would because the taco salads were very good,

( for reference, we love Mexicali Express, Taco del Sol, Don Pedro, and La Parilla Kitchen on the west side of PDX). This was not a great experience. We got two chicken quesadillas with a side of guac and a diet pepsi and I spent $30 including tip. The woman in the window was very nice, the tortilla part of the quesadilla was pretty properly grilled on the outside at least,( although there were some pieces of random meat and veg stuck to the outside of both tortillas), and the red and green hot sauces were good, those are the high points. My diet Pepsi's syrup to carbonated water ratio was off, the guacamole was gloopily weirdly nasty, and the shredded chicken in the quesadilla was stringy and wet. Mediocre. Oh, and the orange cheese inside the quesadilla was strange! Also we expected something to come with the quesadilla for $9.99 -a blob of sour cream, tomato slices with shredded lettuce, a handful of chips, or smidge of rice and beans maybe but that is not the case. My spoiled child, 22, threw most of their meal out. Plus out went the weird slimy guac and my soda. I ate most of my quesadilla but it was just sad, man. We will be either quesadilla-ing at home or hitting a taco truck next time. Try something else but probably skip the chicken.
