As a pescatarian, I substituted shrimp for chicken and was charged an additional $6.89 for the swap, bringing the total to over $17 for a single taco. What arrived was cold pesto shrimp in a cold corn taco topped with a few black beans and pieces of corn. A combination that didn't work, and one I did not order. At that price point, I expected something much closer to what was advertised. I'd encourage the restaurant to update the menu photos and description to "taco" so future customers know what they're ordering. When I called, I was offered a refund only for the $6.89 shrimp upcharge, which didn't feel right given I couldn't eat the dish at all. I won't be ordering the Folded Flat again, but I hope this feedback is useful for others and for the team.

It was a little spicier than I was expecting and the "sauce" was almost a queso, but it was incredibly fresh and light and I didn't finish it. A friend ordered sweet potato fries and a lemon cupcake for us th split. The fries were jus barely overcooked so they kept sticking to my teeth, but the dilly-heavy ranch sauce was divine and went perfectly with the sweet fries. The lemon cupcake was super moist and delicious. I wish I had paid more attention and gotten infused water from the entry instead of the plain water from the dispenser. We decided to go inside anyway and discovered the waitlist wasn't necessary because there were plenty of tables available. The menu had a lot of interesting options, although I wish it included photos of the dishes. We ordered the Hawaiian Bowl, the Truffle Burger, and what I believe was the Blueberry Jam Burger, along with regular fries and sweet potato fries. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and each bun was stamped with the Circle 7 branded logo, which was a nice touch. The Hawaiian Bowl was delicious and generously portioned. I had enough left over for another meal. The atmosphere is definitely more of a sports bar than a traditional restaurant. Every wall seemed to have multiple TVs, making it easy to watch the soccer matches from just about anywhere in the dining room. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us several times throughout the meal. Before leaving, we couldn't decide on just one dessert, so we ordered the dessert sampler. The cobbler was the standout--it tasted homemade, especially the crust, and all of the desserts were served with ice cream. I've never had cold baklava in my life, so suffice to say it was a bit unsettling. Since I was focusing on how cold it was, I couldn't even tell you if it was actually good. Since the baklava wasn't hitting, I was really hoping the bowl would but unfortunately, that, too, came up short. There was a garlic sauce on top but it did absolutely nothing for the bowl. I think the bowl lacked flavor and was disappointing considering how good it looks in all the pictures. While my first experience wasn't the best, I'd be willing to give them another shot but it won't be anytime soon.

The beef comes from one of those special farms where the cows are all given names as if they were human beings, groomed on a daily basis by trafficking victims and read bedtime stories, and you really can taste the difference. It's a better quality meat. It's also expertly prepared. It's well-seasoned and cooked until it develops a nice char on the exterior. It was a bit more done on the inside than I require, but that may have been unavoidable. For a side, there was an option of tater tots cooked in an air fryer, like if your mom was feeling lazy. I didn't see any french fries, but maybe I'm going blind. I ordered a side salad, which is my thing these days. Sometimes they're surprisingly good, and a french fry is a french fry, unless you're at McDonald's. This one was pretty good, but it was definitely on the health-food side of things--very fresh and lightly but sufficiently dressed with something citrus-y and not too oily. Oh, and I was duped into purchasing a whiskey sour slushie. It just seemed like it would be so refreshing. It must have cost nearly as much as my meal, given what my bill came out to. They must think I'm a sucker. Did they receive advance notice of my visit? It did kinda hit the spot, and I probably got drunker than I would have otherwise, because I was suffering from a minor heatstroke, so there was that.

She came back and told me that my food had actually been sitting for a while, and she apologized for the wait. It wasn't really her fault, as she seemed overworked. Unfortunately, the food reflected the amount of time it had been sitting. The fries seemed very old and were clumped together, which was disappointing. The Chicken Tenders were also dry but not the worst I've had. My Mom's burger was overcooked and pretty bland. On the bright side, the house salad was decent. I especially liked the house dressing, but some of the lettuce pieces were already starting to turn brown. The chili was yummy as well. Overall, the long wait, lack of communication, and quality of most of the food made this a pretty disappointing takeout experience. I'd be willing to give Joey B's another try, but I hope the service and freshness of the food are better next time. The South County location is better!
