McAlister's! The chain deli that has steep prices, but good food. I've been frequenting this location on Manchester almost weekly for the past 3 months because of it's convenient location to work. Try the "Pick any Two" For about $9, I can get a yummy Savannah Chicken salad: grilled chicken atop spring mix with sweet almonds, feta cheese, tomatoes and cumcumer; PLUS a cup of vegetarian chilli, AND a sweet tea/diet coke...depending on my mood. YUM! The desserts...meh. All are cooked days..if not weeks in advance, so I'd save your $ for some FroYo. I tried a chocolate chip cookie a few weeks ago that almost cracked my new crown. McAlister's Deli is a smaller-chain that my lady and I always enjoy going to. I like the club sandwich but always can go for the four-cheese grilled-cheese sandwich (although I replace the tomato with bacon) and a tasty spud (what they call baked potatoes). You get a lot of food for your money, which is great. The atmosphere is laid-back and the employees are always friendly and eager to refill a cup of soda or their delicious tea (I go for the unsweetened as I don't like sugar in my tea). The free wi-fi is also nice if at times a bit spotty--if you're going to use it sit closer to the front of the restaurant where the signal is stronger. A-Ok about sums it up. They have an enormous menu filled with all sorts of choices from loaded baked potatoes to soups, salads and stacked-high sandwiches. I ordered the basil-chicken salad which was better than I thought it was going to be. Savory dressing and the right amount of spices. Fresh vegetables and nice presentation. But....something here was just slightly awry. When we arrived there were a million kids running everywhere, and the place sorta just... feels like a mess-hall, or a cafeteria. Certainly lacks atmosphere. I immediately asked myself: is this a chain restaurant? because it felt a little like Fudrucker's. That being said, my salad was good. My wife and I ate lunch at McAliser's Deli this afternoon. We arrived at noon which was not a good choice since it was a Sunday and all of the area church-goers were in line ahead of us. The line stretched from the back of the restaurant to the door; however, McAlisters has at least four cash registers ringing at the same time to keep the line moving. I had thought that McAlister's was a small deli from the view outside. However, the place is pretty large with tons of seating. Upon arrival, we found extra menu's and were able to pick out what we wanted to eat . I chose the Memphian which is a hoagie with ham, turkey, roast beef, melted provolone, mustard and mayo. It was decent. My wife had the club sandwich which looked pretty tasty. All sandwiches come with your choice of a side including: chips, mashed potatoes and gravy, potato salad, etc. In addition to sandwiches, McAlisters also serves salads, wraps, and baked potatoes. Drink offerings include tea, Sweet Tea, lemonade and soda. All beverages are 32oz unless a child's size is ordered. Once you have ordered your lunch/dinner, take a seat at a nearby table and a server will deliver your meal. If you are lucky, an available server will come by and ask if you would like a refill. Since the place was mobbed, we had to wait quite a while for someone to ask if we would like refills. McAlister's is a decent place for lunch. The food was good and the menu has a variety of options to try on another visit. read more

It took 45 minutes to get our meal and our hot sandwiches were cold. There appeared to be no one in charge. Several people who ordered ahead of us got their meals first. It was very disorganized. We have always enjoyed This restaurant. read more

I would like to say that i was greeted I totally with a smile to then receive my drink and sit waiting for my food (dine-in) for more that 25 minutes. I could see they were a bit short staffed, but the manager Rob got sift of this and got it straightened out swiftly. Rob was patient and expressed his apologies and made sure he took care of us and also ensured he would take are of my return. I'm a tea fanatic and this is one place that the sweet tea is amazing! The food is decent but pricey and you don't always get a good deal for the price but it tastes good. The desserts are good as well. read more

Great food and service! McAlister's are hit or miss on the service end and this is one of the best locations I've encountered. The line moves quickly, orders are consistently correct, and the staff comes around to refill your drink when you dine in. I took the family for dinner on Thursday night, clean friendly,, good atmosphere, business is a little slower after 7 pm. Ordered the veggie Spud.. I order this often.. a GIANT baked potato covered in vegetables.. WHAT I GOT...was two tiny baked potatoes smashed together in a failed attempt to look like one potato.. it was drowned in cheese sauce that had an oily texture and a brown color. No discernable veggies in the mix. C'mon McAllisters.. I spent 40 dollars on dinner. I could not even finish and left hungry.. this is usually my go to for a decent quick dinner out.. I will be rethinking next time.. sorely disappointed. Also, the parking lot is like running out onto the track at a NASCAR event, with a lower probability of survival. read more

I have been here twice and have not been disappointed. Their sweet tea is to die for, hands down the best. I had the French dip, and it was the tastiest I have ever had, even beating top notch restaurants. Also, the kids meals are only 99 cents!! You get their main choice and then a bag of teddy Graham's, and a choice of chips or applesauce. Everyone was friendly and nice as well. This place gets 5 stars from me!! read more

I'm not sure I want to give this particular location my business anymore. My family and I have been going here for years and today wasn't the best. We go into tonight and get a decent sized order for my family to take home. We pay $6 for the Nacho Basket and the nachos come in the container the sandwiches come in, and there's barely any chips in it. So my mother went to the counter to ask for more, and they basically threw crumbs in the box. We didn't think asking was an unreasonable request. The amount of food you get for the money you pay, is not worth it. Especially the attitude you get served wit it. Fix it McAlister's!! read more

We visit McAlister's frequently. The menu is consistent, fresh and a good lunch option. The tea (sweet and non sweet) is really good and the service is very friendly. I have eaten at McAlister's many times and I am a big fan. Howver, my last lunch visit there was less than impressive. I ordered the chicken chipotle sandwich. There was more bread than chicken and their was no chipotle at all. I am sure that this was just a one time glitch. I do love their tea. read more

Where I would give all of them a 10 (outside of Paducah, KY), there is something about the ones in the St. Louis area that stands a step above the rest. If they don't come to you for a refill, you simply walk up on the side and ask for one. When your about to leave, ask for another refill. Oops, forgot your keys? I love McAlisters. I have been there multiple times but I will never go to the location in Ballwin again. I placed an online order and paid for it online. I had a 8 month old baby in my hands and a 2 year old in the other and walked up to the ToGo counter. I have 4 employees pass me and look at me without being asked if needed help or had been helped. I finally stopped one of them and said I had a ToGo order that I wanted to pick up. She told another employee who came over and told me I had to pay. I had to tell him that I already paid for it online. He handed me my ToGo order and walked away. This was the WORST customer service I had ever had there and it really irritates me that I was passed so many times without being helped. read more

I go there a lot with one of my friends and I used to work there, so I get a discount on food. The wraps are fabulous. I love the Caesar and Chipotle chicken. The taco salad is good too. It comes with a variety of sides. I usually get lays of some kind. They are famous for sweet tea but I'm reallyyy not into that. I'm more of a cherry coke kinda girl. The spuds are also fabulous. I highly recommend the veggie spud. The cookies are amazing - nice and big, not too sweet, and the perfect way to round out the meal. read more

Really good food, reasonable prices - comparable to St. Louis Bread Co. But the reason to go here is for the sweet tea. There is no other tea that compares. I am happy to say that this location has completely turned everything around. They have the nicest employees and are on top of bussing all the tables. Food was SO delicious.I recommend the salad with a roast beef melt.The service could be a tiny bit better but otherwise it was AMAZING.
