I like McAlister's and it always pretty consistent. It never blows me away, but it is never disappointing either. It's a good and quick light lunch that has decent healthy options. I always order the veggie club. Like all their sandwiches, it's pretty large. I do my best to make sure that I don't eat it all at once unless I just finished a run. The veggies are fine and it's a pretty average sandwich. It has guacamole on it, but I can't usually taste it. The staff is usually friendly. There have been a couple visits where I feel they just want to take my order and move on, but never rude or anything. Store is usually clean. No complaints about McAlisters, but no raving compliments either. If you need a quick lunch you should stop in. read more

This was my first time at McAlister's the food was delicious the staff was nice. The deli was very clean inside and outside of the building and have enough tables for everyone. Not easy to find. Underwhelmed with the food quality. We usually go to another location and we will continue to stick to that one. The food here was bland, potato dry, portions smaller than usual. Burnt cookie given in the kids meal and pizza not really toasted/cooked. Also, forgot to mention liquid paste Mac & Cheese. I've always enjoyed the sandwiches here but bad service will trump good food every single time. We decided to give this location another chance after the last inconvenience. It appears that issue has been addressed, which is great, but now there's a new one. Keep in mind, I never have much spare time so it's very precious to me. I placed my order online, as usual, and provided all of the necessary contact information. The order went through smoothly. Upon my arrival, I was informed that they could no longer make the sandwich that I ordered so I would have to order something else and then wait longer. Really? Instead of calling me, they wait until I arrive to inform me of this?? Seriously, who do you have running this location? A bunch of incompetent teenagers? If you can't fulfill an order, that needs to be addressed on the website. Don't advertise what you don't have. And call your customers immediately with any order issues. I think the food has gone downhill lately. I went through a phase where i loved their smoked turkey on croissant with honey mustard , spicy brown mustard, pickles, and lettuce...but i don't know...it's just not as good as it used to be. They also took away the kentucky pie which was one of the best desserts i've ever had at a fast casual place. That's not to say the food is bad...but it is no better than you would expect from a chain deli. The reason i am giving it 4 stars is for the ICED TEA. I always get an unsweet tea with no lemon and it is always consisently the best tea. I don't drink sweet tea anymore, but when i did drink it, i could always count on the sweet tea to be really good as well. If you are an iced tea drinker, you know how disappointing (and downright disgusting) it can be to get a glass of badly flavored...or even worse, OLD tea. It's bad...old tea tastes so bad you can't even force it down...but if you come to Mcalister's, you know the flavor is going to be good and the tea is going to be fresh. Have had good experiences here before but very disappointed that the half of a club sandwich we ordered was EXTREMELY small. My sandwich was fine but made it obvious that the half was actually a 1/4 size. We paid the strange extra Grubhub fees as well & expect to get the meal. It sure is hot in here. I'm not talking about the good kind of hot, but the humid, "need to get back to my car air conditioning" kind of hot. I think it is because your front door does not close all the way. Also, the front area is a cluster-mess! 3 registers, but one long line that goes across the room and in front of the door. Its very unorganized. And it was difficult to find a clean table (because of the lunch rush). Maybe you need a full time table busboy to keep on top of the mess. Always a wonderful lunch stop... and even though it's definitely a deli menu, you're always guaranteed to find something for everyone. They've recently added loaded nachos, have amazing (and huge) baked potatoes smothered in toppings, and every sub/soup/sammy/salad you could ask for. The sweet tea is amazing, but that's a well known fact. Decently priced, especially when it comes with a tasty side (I recommend the mac'n'cheese or potato salad) and pickle spear. You can easily dine in and make it back to work within a lunch hour. The staff has always been friendly and food comes out quickly and has always been fresh. It may be a chain restaurant, but it's a damn good one! Side Note: they're opened surprisingly later than I expected, until 10pm or later 7 days a week. I visited for the first time recently. Clean store, nice employees from my visit, menu has some good sounding things that are likely delicious BUT??¿............what could be wrong here??? Either one or both, the price or portion size is not ok at all whatsoever. Unless you're dieting or honestly just get full off very little a meal deal will not be enough food for you. You will still be noticeably hungry after eating one meal deal unfortunately. I visited here with my boss, he wanted to buy the meal which was nice of him. The employee explained what was more food size wise. I ordered a sandwich that is among their 'larger' ones can't remember the meat, the side was macaroni and cheese, and I chose some kind of tea. Everything was delicious, I have a feeling a decent amount of food here is organic. I know the tea is real, not from a bag of gunk & high fructose corn syrup poison, but if that's your thingthey do offer the general soft drinks with all thein them normally everywhere. The macaroni and cheese was outstanding, the tea was really good, my sandwich was good, but I noticed immediately upon seeing my food... this is completely not enough food for what he just paid!!! Where's the rest of my stuff here??? The Mac & cheese is tini tiny, my sandwich is certainly NOT large, the only thing that's of normal size is my delicious $3.something tea(but is free refills). I eat, I'm still completely hungry. I now get out my wallet and purchase a 2nd meal. I get it to go, it's again great mac & cheese but extremely small, this isn't very many bites..I think the sandwich I got was called a southwest chicken sandwich and it is decently better than my first sandwich which was good but still neither a big sandwich especially for the price you pay. The meals aren't cheap, it is completely not worth it and I'm confused how this place is a surviving business in appearance but it definitely won't be forever deliberately overcharging for very small portions. It shouldn't cost over $20 for me to eat a sandwich and mac & cheese. At two meals just to not have my stomach growling it is over $20. I like the food but I'm not returning unfortunately. If I could do zero stars I'd still do one star. The one star is for great tasting food, really good tea, and friendly staff. The missing four stars are for intentionally charging entirely way too much for obviously too small of portions for human sustenance, that's plain offensive. Probably the worst service I've ever had at a McAlister's. I placed a takeout order and upon arrival two customers were being helped. After they were done being helped, both cashiers walked away after noticing I'm next. As I was waiting, I saw one of them replacing a syrup bottle and after had getting it on her hand she licked it off and did not wash her hands afterwards. I waited about 5 minutes before being helped, and one of the cashiers that kept walking past looked like a manager. After everything and I got my food home to eat, after asking for a chicken Cesar salad on the phone to the cashier I got home with a regular chicken salad. read more

Had a loaded potato. It was nice, standard. My daughter have the big nasty sandwich, she thought it was good. My son-in-law a club sandwich, he said it was normal and it was good. I'm only giving this two stars because I love the food but the staff is a hit or miss. My mom and I were excited to go to McAllister's for lunch on a mother daughter day. The Mgr that took our order interrupted us and said "one at a time". I promptly shut up and let my mom talk then I took my turn. Ruined our day. I can't believe he talked to us that way. And another time the girl behind the counter looked really annoyed and absolute zero eye contact. I won't stop going here but I am ready for anything as far as interaction goes. Home for a quick family visit and I stopped by here earlier for lunch. I ordered the Turkey Jalapeno Crunch and it was amazing. My taste buds and tummy are very satisfied. McAlister's Deli is a great place to go for a wide variety of dishes, from sandwiches, soups, salads, baked potato variations, desserts, etc. The food is always fresh, good, large portions and reasonably priced. The iced tea is some of the best in town; always fresh brewed and has a wonderul taste.....Nice atmosphere, plenty of seating, fast, friendly service....I can't imagine anyone not liking this place....I prefer it over Panera Bread and Jason's Deli although I like both of those spots as well. I absolutely recommend this location for catering a luncheon. The salads are so fresh and made to order. The spud max bar is a customer favorite as well. Wow - been a long time since I've been to McAllisters and first time for this one in Denton. What a treat. Had a business meeting with a friend there Wed. Arrived right after 12. Very friendly greeting, plenty of help up front to take your order. They were very helpful and friendly. Ordered, received our drinks and proceeded to the table. Directly our food order was brought to us and we were asked if we needed anything..... I asked for Tabasco - of course and a couple of other things and directly received them. Many times during our meal waiter came by to ask if we needed anything, drink refill, etc., etc., etc. and always received same promptly. We actually spent about 2.5 hours there discussing and visiting and such and the whole time we were kept well with drink refills and the like. Ample staff walking around asking if anyone needed anything and clearing off tables promptly when diners finished their meals. Quiet environment - we had no problem conducting business. The food.... I had the "Big Nasty" - roast beef sandwich with gravy. Selected a side of potato salad and iced tea. When it arrived - WOW - 4 long split buns covered with roast beef and gravy and it was a huge amount of food and VERY much delicious. Potato salad was good and I generally don't like potato salad that I don't make but this was very good and I will order it again. Lots of good sandwiches and salads and such. My friend had a different sandwich and it looked good too. Can't wait to go back and try the Ruben!!! For desert - several choices - we had the carrot cake and it was a large slice and was as good as I can make it - very moist and good. Well worth the splurge. Lunch was less than $10 @ + desert. Orders are always right, there are employees that will walk around asking if you need anything. I've called ahead to place to go orders when I know they would be busy and have gotten the order fairly quickly. The only awkward thing about this store is there isn't much space when waiting in line if the are busy, the space between the registers and the front door will sometimes not be enough and people coming in will bump into the line that has formed.
