Mcalister's Deli, IMO, is a better alternative to Panera. The food is better, the food is cheaper, and the sweet tea is delicious. I placed an online order here today, and was really disappointed with the service I received. When I arrived at the pick up station in the restaurant, there was a sign taped to it that said I must wait for a team member to get my order. I've seen this at other establishments before, so I wasn't phased by this. I was phased, however, by the inattention and treatment I received by the employees. I stood at the pick up station waiting for my order, which I could physically see sitting behind cash register for around fifteen minutes. Multiple employees walked by without even acknowledging my presence, let alone the large line that began to form behind me for other pick up orders. I didn't feel comfortable walking behind the counter to take my order, so I waited as patiently as I could. When someone finally did come to give me my order, the employee I interacted with copped an attitude when she tried to give me the wrong order and I politely corrected her. She shoved my order at me and did not reply when I said thank you. The only good thing about this visit was the food, so shoutout to the cooks I guess. Overall, I would not recommend this McAlister's location. It would be much more worth your time, in my opinion, to drive across town to the location on Lima, which I have had many great experiences at. read more

Why do I keep punishing myself! Have eaten at this location more than a dozen times and I don't think I have ever had a really good experience yet. I love McAllister's, but this location is nothing compared to all of the others I have been to. If you want mccalisters in Fort Wayne, make sure to go to the Lima Road location as it is a ton better. I ordered the French dip sandwich and nacho basket for lunch. It was extremely busy and I knew I would have to wait a long time. I am willing to wait as long as the product is good. However, when it came, the chips were stale, the cheese was cold, the sandwich was about half the size of what it usually is and it was cold as well and the au jus wasn't even lukewarm! The worst yet. But I have never been here where the food is better than average. Don't waste your time, about time I listen to my own advice! Go somewhere else or drive to Lima Rd. McAlester's came onto the scene a few years ago in Fort Wayne, and judging from the crowd, things seem to be going well for them at this location next to the Jefferson Pointe shopping center. I had the Turkey Reuben, which is always nicely done. They also have no problems here with preparing a half sweet/half un-sweet tea, which causes many fast food workers to do a 'deer in the headlight'. read more

Today I visited McAlister's Deli @ Jefferson Pointe for the first time with my daughter. Pretty good menu selection.. in fact, it was quite large. I was looking for a good sandwich shop and I was pleased with the sandwich and salad selection. We split a SW Cobb salad and a McAlister's club with 2 sweet teas. With the sandwich you get the choice of a small side. It was Sunday so it wasn't crowded and plenty of seating indoors and out on the patio. It was a walk-up counter style where you place your order and then you are given a number, then you find your own seating. Very casual. Total came to $20.58. Slightly pricey for the meal but it's the drinks that kill you anymore. I would definitely visit again. read more

Good food, horrible service! Ate dinner here tonight with family of 3....it was not busy. Waited 15mins, food never came. Went up to front to inquire and they couldn't even find our order. No apologies, didn't even say they were getting our food ready. Manager said something about it being a web order. I said, no we ordered it from the register. Finally got some food after 25 mins. First time here and I was very impressed! The environment is clean but comfy. You order at the front and then they bring your food to your table, we waited maybe five minutes for our order :) And then they have their staff circle around to check on you which was awesome!! The lighting and music is perfectly comfortable...and the food was mmmmmmmm!!! I went here for the first time in a long time because I see that they are getting ready to open one near my house on the North side of town. I ordered via phone to pick up at the window. Pretty convenient. However, when I got home, they did not give me the side of mashed potatoes I ordered, and the baked potato was lacking the chili on it that I ordered. Not very impressive. I might try the new one when it opens, but not sure. I hate it when I get home and my order is wrong. The catering was horrible. McAlister's is 5 star when dining in or carryout is ordered. Great food, great portions, always hot and fresh. However, because of that, I used them for catering which was a mistake. The portions were absolutely horrible. Mainly bread sandwiches. They also charged the wrong prices and a month and a half later I am still waiting on the refund. When I showed the manager pictures of what they delivered all he said was, "That is unacceptable". No price allowance, rebate or anything. Because of that alone, I canceled all pending catering jobs and went elsewhere. Extremely disappointed. I have been to this location on many occasions and have witnessed them 'losing' orders. Today was by far the worst. First off, it took their staff far too long to realize that our order was delayed. We did finally ask about our order and the staff replied that they were trying to 'locate' it. A short while later a manager came over to our table to take our order. When he finally served our food, it was served with a mumbled apology. There was no offer of a coupon or anything to make up for the delay and missed order. The food is mediocre at best; hardly good enough to make up for the terrible service! How sad that all they had to do was offer a complimentary side item to make us happy. Was my first time eating here a few months ago and have to say it was pretty good. I got the club which was pretty decent in size, the Mac and cheese which tasted like it was generic and nasty as well as applesauce which tasted like normal applesauce. Very clean & simple place to eat especially for lunch. This wouldn't be a go to for dinner but a go to for a light lunch. The drink portion is great but the serving portion is what you would expect for lunch. I'm a vegetarian and I love that the menu varies for everyone. I've been to a lot of vegetarian places that doesn't even have sandwiches that can compete with McAlister's! So fresh and filling. I'm always satisfied when I order it. My husband and I are addicted to this place. Maybe because it's summer, and we tend to crave fresh foods such as salads. And McAlister's definitely delivers that! Love their savannah chopped salad! Their giant spuds are indeed GIANT! I ordered a full salad and a full spud because I wanted leftover for lunch the next day, well, the spud was so big, my whole dinner that night was half the spud. Didnt have room for salad or anything! We typically get the choose any two deal they have. The nice thing about this option is that you can choose from ANY of the sandwhiches, salads, spuds. Unlike the similar, but pricier, Panera Bread, which their pick two is only for the simple sandwhiches and salads, and costs extra for the fancier ones. I really love McAlisters. I heard a couple people rave about it before it came to town, and am glad that I went there. The only negative I have is that when they first opened, the sweet tea wasn't consistent. I don't like tea that is unsweetened, and their sweet tea just wasn't sweet enough. But I keep getting it, and it has gotten better, maybe it was just because they had just opened.
