I went to this location at 10:30 AM on a Saturday, so by the time I had washed my hands my food was ready. I ordered The New Yorker with fruit, a bowl of broccoli and cheese soup, sweet tea and a macadamia nut cookie. As usual everything tasted great. The biggest disappointment is that they don't have a separate line for call in orders. The point of calling in is so you don't have to stand in line with all the people who are dining in. I see a sign for call in orders but there is only one line for ALL. This is frustrating when you're just trying to run in and out. I order from here quite often, but today is probably my last time. I ordered online and the pick up time was 12:13. I got in line to pick up my food at 12:09. I was not helped until 12:50. Another customer spoke with a manager who explained that they had an issue with their internet so they were backed up and there was nothing they could do about it. I can understand that things happen beyond their control, but I do not understand why they did not dedicate more staff to getting the orders out. The regular line had 3 employees while the online order line only had 1. Also, after you cause someone to spend their entire lunch break waiting in line, a "sorry about the wait" just doesn't cut it. Probably the worst thing was when the person working the counter started allowing people to just randomly walk up to the counter in front of those of us that had been waiting. I'm really disappointed because usually they have really great service. I received a quick response back from McAlister's and they really seemed to care about my experience and have taken steps to make it right. If you don't have that much time for lunch don't bother with ordering over phone. There's no parking for pick up only, they have one person at register that seems to dislike their job. It's never a simple process. The line just to pick up orders is crazy. To order and get a table seems to move faster then the pick up line. Don't believe I'll be back. After waiting in the stupid long line and then 15 more minutes after ordering I was starving and ready to eat. I got back to my office with my chicken salad sandwich, and was immediately less thrilled due to the color of the chicken. It looked gross, brown and slimy. I decided to taste it and it wasn't terrible. At least until I got to the hair, the 5 inch long blonde hair. Between the slow service, expense, poor quality, bland taste and that freaking hair, I am sad to say this will not be a place I will go again. So grossed out! read more

I ordered on-line and was quoted a pickup time which was about 35 minutes after I had placed the order. Having arrived about 5 minutes in advance of that pick up time, I was discouraged when it took me 15 minutes just to reach the checkout counter even though there were only 2 people in front of me. By this time, it was well after my quoted pickup time and the line for those picking up online orders had grown longer than the line for walk in customers. I figured surely they would have my order ready to go. Wrong. I had to wait an additional 15 minutes just to get my order. People who had walked in after me, ordered and dined in, were already done eating their food. I got back to the office to a starving team that was expecting the food to be there much sooner. More disappointment ensued, however, when it was discovered that McAlister's has failed to give me an entire order. I highly recommend avoiding this place if time means anything to you, because it doesn't appear to mean anything to them. Edit: The story gets better! After I had realized they left off an entire person's order from my ticket, I went back to the store. Only when I arrived, they had given the order to another customer! So now I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to remake the order they had left off in the first place. Fantastic management this place has. Top notch, said noone ever. read more

Stopped in for a quick club sandwich lunch. I Asked for it to have no dressing. Dry. First one came out with Honey Mustard on it. The Manager brought it to me, so I said sir I asked for no dressing. He said honey mustard comes as a default. He said I will take it and "have a fresh one" made. Second one came out and a Guy from the back brought it out...and it was Basically the same sandwich. Looked like the bread was just wiped off. Still yellow from the mustard. I asked him to please send manager over. The Manager came over (same who brought first sandwich) and I said sir, this sandwich has the same bread that was on the first one with simply the mustard wiped off. While I know the effort is to save money and reuse, a better effort would be to no sacrifice client satisfaction for saving a penny. Like You said when you took the first plate, "I will make a fresh one for ya"...stand behind your word. I have no desire to get something for free nor do I care to wait on a new one. I have lost faith in that even happing. So I am going to leave this here and say next time, next customer do what you say you are going to do and put the customer first. I know I gained nothing and walked out still hungry, but hopefully the manager and cook at this location got the point and does it right next time. I and several people from my office have ordered here several times since they've opened in the past month and the food is awesome! We did have a situation where they messed up an order but when I called their manager was kind enough to come to our office with the missing items. It's their great food, kind staff, excellent leadership, and convenient location that will keep them going for years to come. I have even went as far to recommend them to our HR department for future company events and lunches. I've tried something new everytime I've ordered and haven't been disappointed. I have mixed feelings about this place. They try to go that extra mile by bring your food up to you. The other hand, I don't like not having the drinks self-serve. Not that they don't always come over and see - I just always worry that they may not. Also I ordered the large Italian, and I look like about a 6 inch. Also, I never have an empty drink because this location is great at refills. Speaking of drinks, you have to try the wild berry lemonade. This delicious nectar is addicting. I have been to several Other locations and this just did not stand up to typical quality! The salad I ordered was actually dirty, grit when chewing and dirt visible, the dirt and slime I could see, yikes! And the sandwich had been microwaved and was totally soggy on one side. :-( read more

We came in on the hot July free ice tea day. We walked in and was greeted by a friendly cashier. I told her we'd like the free ice teas and she rang them up asking how many adult and how many kids cups. She asked for assistance and quickly got us all set up and on our way. Now I am giving McAllister's this particular one there five stars again the restaurant was clean the management was there they've been there I've , couple of times just to see how it was going to be and they really stepped up their game up they really appreciated me and my family they took the time to hear what we had to say they cared about their customers I recommend that you continue to come here I've always love McAllister's my mother loves this McAllister's it's close to home and they did compensate us for what they did wrong. I like McAlister's overall. This was my first visit to the newly opened Irving location, but have been to other locations across multiple states over the years. For a new restaurant, everything seemed to be operating very smoothly. The service is great. Very hospitable staff, make rounds offering drink refills, etc. I typically go to lunch early, but if you don't be forewarned that getting there after 11:05 will ensure you're standing in a long line. However, I guess there aren't enough restaurants in the area, because pretty much anywhere I go at lunch in Las Colinas has the same long line. My only complaint about McAlister's is some of their ingredients taste a little cheap to me. I'm not sure what I am expecting for $7, but the grilled chicken they use tastes kind of fake like McDonald's grilled chicken or Subway, which I've never been a fan of. I do really like their caesar salad, baked potatos & the chicken salad sandwich. Not sure why, but the chicken salad tastes fine. It's mainly the grilled chicken on the grilled chicken sandwich & the grilled chicken club that tastes off to me. Cookies & of course the iced tea are great here as well! Overall, I recommend it, but just might take a few tries to find something you like if you are a particular eater like me. read more

Ordered online as I usually do I love the convenience of being able to order online and pick my order up in the pick up case. Upon my trip this time I did notice a difference of the take out trays, They are biodegradable!
