I have been to this restaurant twice in about 12 days. Both times I placed my order online so it would be faster. 1st time I waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes, got my food and there was barely any chicken salad on my sandwich. 2nd time I waited in the drive thru for 40 minutes and the croissant was so freaking hard I had to pick the outside off to even be able to eat it. What is the purpose of a drive thru window if it is going to take me 30-40 minutes to get something that I have already paid for. It should be a quick process, grab and go. I love the harvest chicken salad sandwich but I will drive to the one on 82nd from now on. The service at this one sucks. read more

My husband and ate in McAlisters inside on 6/25 with friends. It is such a pleasant atmosphere, clean, not noisy, pleasant servers. A special go-to! I had the split 2... chose French dip sandwich and pecan berry salad.. -it's wonderful-a favorite and of course the famous iced tea! We will always return. read more

Every time I come to the 19th location they have no idea what's going on, they forget things, they are extremely on organized. I really enjoy McAllister's and love the food there but getting home with to go food with no sour cream for a max potato and half a cup filled of broccoli cheese soup is on acceptable when you're paying $16 for a meal. McAlister's consistently delivers a quality meal. My favorite is the roasted turkey on a croissant. They also have great potatoes that are large enough to satisfy at least one person, if not two. The tea is probably some of the best you can get in Lubbock. My only complaint is that it does often get very busy at peak hours (they are still pretty quick and handle it well) and the fruit salad is horrible. It tastes like canned fruit that is put in containers and stuck in the freezer (which it probably is). Fruit salad is NOT supposed to be frozen and hard to eat. It is a bit pricey for Lubbock but the quality justifies the price. McAlisters is perfect for catering as well. read more

Helpful staff to this out-of-towner...I was craving a Reuben and they fit the bill. Clean interior, welcoming. Got the sandwich, chips, cookie and a drink for a cool $10.50. I never know how serious to take a review, but trust me, I had an experience that made me not want to EVER come back to this McAlister's and will do everything to not let other people go to this location either. GO TO THE ONE ON 82ND & QUAKER. To begin, the restaurant is old and smells terrible. It's hard to ignore the rotten egg stench that flows out from the restaurant as soon as you open the door. Next, the women who took my order was having an issue with personal hygiene. It seemed like she was suffering from extreme dry mouth as her lips were coated in white film. It was very distracting and nauseating. Second, as I watched her pour my tea, she put her hands all over the inside of my cup and around it to wipe away the tea that had run over instead of using a napkin. When the same women brought my boyfriend his food she had her thumb IN HIS SOUP. To end the bad experience, I waited over 45 minutes for my order (an employee had said someone had a huge order and was backing up the kitchen, so I'm glad there was at least some communication there) just to find out my order wasn't in their system. My credit card had been charged so I knew it was at the very least, in their system at one point. Thankfully, I was able to get a refund but my boyfriend & I left immediately after that with plans to never return. Lubbock, please let the new McAlister's on Milwaukee be a palace. read more

Awesome restaurant! The food is always fresh and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The sandwiches are large and tasty. The chicken and dumplings soup is the best you can get next to grandma's! I placed an order with this McAlister's a couple of months ago or so. I was at work and I couldn't leave so I paid extra to have it delivered to me. I got my sandwich but I didn't get my sprite or brownie. I reached out to them about it online and they said they'd have someone reach out to me but they never did. I'm extremely disappointed in how little they care about their customers. I used to get something to eat there almost every weekend but not anymore. I don't trust them. read more

Apparently it's been a while for me because they've expanded their menu adding potatoes (*drool*) and other home cooked options like meat loaf and chicken dishes. This place is going down hill fast. Service is sooo slow. Workers run around like chickens with their head cut off and one, she's grinding her jaw like she's on crack. Placed an order on the app on Sunday 5-16-21 and it stated curbside pick up or at the restaurant. I selected curbside, called to let them know I was there and I was told to go to drive thru. I was like ok must be a lazy person. Luckily drive thru was accessible. A girl comes to window and states they are out of chocolate chip cookies & would I like to get something else. I stated just refund me for the cookie. Then she states they will once my name is written down & manager will refund it within 2 business days. I get my order and of course it is all wrong. So I called the restuarant to inform them of the issue. Not once was I told to go back and get it corrected. Instead they said they will refund me the whole meal. As of today I got charged for the whole meal. They lied about the refund of the cookie and the whole ordeal. Everytime I come here I ask for extra bacon and cheese on my potato. I usually get next to nothing or none at all. Usually i let it slide because i am in a hurry and just want to get home. Today as the woman opened my to go order and showed me my potato, there was no bacon at all. I said "oh i asked for extra bacon" and she said there is. I did not want to argue so i said okay and left. I get home and low and behold there is absolutely no bacon and very minimal cheese. Had my last visit to this dump today. Last year they fired everybody and started over. It's not gotten any better. It takes forever to get your food and we were prepared for that. Today after 30 minutes of waiting for food we got a refund because we were told there were still 4 orders ahead of us. When we got there, there weren't even that many people in the place so there was no reason for this type of delay. More people in the restaurant without food than eating. Ordered ahead on the app at about 12pm and said it would be ready by 12:20. I arrived at 12:30 and was told that they were still working on it. In the end I waited 30 minutes for it to be ready which means that it wasn't even being worked on. A total of 1 hour wait time for 2 sandwiches! Ridiculously bad service! This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. Unfortunately, today has been a major let down. I stood in line over 20 minutes just to order, after I ordered, I waited 30 minutes to get my food. Other people that came much later than me received their food long before me. When I finally did get my food, the soup was cold, and the cheese on my sandwich had the texture of rubber. Great place for lunch. They are known for their sweet tea. It's a must. TERRIBLE service!! My boyfriend ordered about a month ago & when he got there to pick up his food they told him they didn't have his food ready but they had just accidentally put it under a different name and was making a big deal out of it. A couple of weeks ago I placed an order over the phone and they told me 15 min so then i went to pickup and when I got there they told me they didn't have an order for me and that I prolly called the wrong mcalister's. After double checking they just decided to retake my order now that 30 min had gone by. They did give me my food for free that day but it's just annoying when you order food & 15 min later they "didn't take your order." Lastly today I placed a togo order with a guy after he took my order he immediately hung up and didn't say anything else, 2 minutes later i get a call from a girl saying how can I help you.
