Everyone here is always so nice and helpful. They are also very patient with people as they decide what they want and answer all the questions. There are no frills here but the food is always decent. Sometimes they even give you a little TOO much in the sauce arena, like the Ranch on the potato so if you don't like a lot make sure you ask for it off side or light. I love that you can add onto the potatoes and make then your own. You can also order at table which is a nice feature and they will bring it to you. I had always heard about McAlister's but never tried it. I actually thought it was a full service restaurant. It's a good way to grab a sandwich to go for the beach. I got their french dip and it was good! Nothing amazing but it was a-ok. I'll definitly try it again but I did have slightly higher expectations in terms of their food flavors. We placed an online order for pickup through the McAlister's actual site and found it to be a seamless process. Food looked great and was tasty however condiments, salad dressing, and pickles were all left out. The place is a decent chain however we will not be thinking of this as an option. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I would just like to start this by saying I have never ever given a review before, and created a yelp account JUST for this. I was very excited to go in and get my chicken Caesar wrap that I use to always get until I was greeted with a boy who was obviously stoned and did not care about his job. I also noticed that the employees would whisper a lot and look at me, my mom, and the other customers. On top of the whole thing the wrap I ordered does not even qualify as a wrap. It is about 1/4th the size of a wrap, and at this point is just bread. I am extremely displeased with this and I do not plan to give this company my business any more. This McAlister's is usually pretty good. Nice quality food, quick. The hours on yelp and their website say they close at 10:00pm, but when I went today they were closed at 8:30. Normally it's solid though, but unfortunately closed shortly after dinner time. read more

It definitely calls for an updated review when things change drastically. The food is always a solid choice. I have no complaints there. For your typical deli fare, it doesn't disappoint. The service has gone downhill. Walking in there was one party ahead of me waiting to order. One cashier was taking another person's order. There were about 5 other people behind the counter working...and I use that term loosely. A lot of them seemed like runners. They were just waiting on food. In the past, they seemed to multi-task. McAllister's deli is a pretty cool place. The service there is great- the girls who work the counter are very nice and will answer all your questions, plus there are tons of vegetarian options, including a vegetarian chili (which you can get on the baked potato, if you want). I had the Veggie Club sandwich, which was really a wrap. It was pretty good, but I think next time I'll order something else because the other food they were bringing out looked really delicious. If this would have been 2015 I would have given a solid 5 stars. I'm sad to say over the past couple years this place has gone downhill fast. They used to keep it clean, and what I mean by clean is the tables... restrooms...ect. The restrooms are absolutely disgusting. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a year. I have given this place multiple chances to do better, but apparently there is no mgmt and they just don't care. The people are rude. I stood at the counter asking for a refill and got ignored. We came right after church. After waiting 30 minutes in a slow moving line we were told that they needed to "clear up the orders that have gotten backed up before taking any more orders". We then spent an additional ten minutes watching complete incompetence in action as four kids with what appeared to be zero training tripped over each other trying to figure out how to deliver the food sitting on the counter. Not gonna lie, I stopped eating at McAlister's for a long time after they got rid of the Greek Salad and sides of salsa for Veggie Spuds. Maybe it wasn't a big deal but seeing as how that was my favorite thing to order, I needed grieving time... Finally went back last week and got the Half Veggie Spud / Half Caesar Salad with sweet tea. It was a great lunch and I'm glad I went, but the side of salsa definitely makes the potato less dry (they should bring it back)! Also, a little more sugar in the tea would've made me happier, but I can appreciate not immediately contracting diabetes like some teas I've tasted. All in all, there's a ton to choose from and the customer service was wonderful (everyone smiling, greeting customers, friendly when ordering and delivering food, wishing a good day to people when leaving...) so I definitely recommend McAlisters. read more

I don't usually get to this McAllister's very often, but on this most recent visit, I was in the area for a hair appointment at a salon nearby. I always order the same thing - I love the McAllister's club with fresh fruit. It's consistently good and I love the honey mustard that they put on the sandwich! Service is fast and efficient and there are plenty of tables to choose from - I wish they had more two tops because I was eating alone and I hate to take a 4 top when it's just me! It was late afternoon so there weren't too many people in there. I will be back again to get the club sandwich! I go here honestly for the sweet tea, their soups are okay and their sandwiches are kind of disssappointing. Okay, buckle up and hold on! We took our neighbor here for lunch to get away from a very sad hospice visit. Usually this is our go to for fresh, clean, great food and awesome service. Well not this time! I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Unfortunately, I was devastated. The food was still good, hence the two stars, but the dining area was filthy!!!!! The service was mediocre and borderline unsatisfactory. She took our order, with no smile and when my husband asked if they could make the chopped Italian salad, which was his favorite, he was met with a forceful no. This occurred right after another customer who overheard my husband's disappointment said they do still make orders to your specifications. Anyway, back to the dining area, we had to literally search for a clean table. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in hours. We were clearly there long after the lunch rush. These pictures were taken around 3:30 pm. on Saturday, February 22nd. I will let the pictures show you and I didn't even take pictures of the table with crumbs. We finally settled for a window seat and wiped it down ourselves. They bought our order out, walked right pass the mess and went back to the register, even though no customers were there. Place dirty and floor sticky. Dirty dishes on tables not being bused while kids texting on phones with masks pulled down on chin. Bathroom without papers towels and dirty. Food pathetic. The idea of chain delis just never feel right to me, I'm just surprised they have the level of popularity they (Subway, Quiznos, etc) enjoy, such as McAllisters has been since 1989. Sitting on some prime Belle Hall real estate, the location is clean inside and out with a friendly staff. I find the sandwiches to be quite average, wether ordering from the Hot, Classic or Club options. After I read the first meat ingredient in The Italian, the flames of my hopes were quickly doused with a large bucket of ice cold water. Black Forest Ham? That's just so wrong. The chicken cutlet with a side of mac n cheese was more expensive than I feel any single sandwich with a side from McAllisters should cost. My advice? Keep a meal under $10.00 (at the most) for sandwiches, because the majority of the sandwich choices are outdone and priced lower by the Harris Teeter at the opposite side of tha parking lot. read more

Oh goodness. Where do I start. It seemed as though the staff was overwhelmed and not led by any manager. The food did actually come out pretty quickly but when I had to use the restroom it was utterly disgusting. To the point of running over (toilets with unmentionable nastiness) with filth and there was no toilet paper in any stall. I think the best way to describe McAlister's is to say they are the Denny's of Delis. They have good food but it is what not the best thing you every eat but not the worst either. Just good old fashion comfort style deli food. I have eaten in and taken to go at this location. My favorite sandwich was the Big Nasty. With bread, roast beef and gravy this is the ultimate comfort food meal. I have also had the King Club which was pretty good but not even close to the picture on their website. Their sides are all pretty good and I have also tried their soups which were also very good. The inside has plenty of seating and is always very clean. The staff is always nice and super friendly. We come here a lot but always in the past it was for lunch. For lunch the service is always good and the place is clean. At night there seems to be a drastic step backwards. For starters there's no supervision. The girls are running around giggling like school children. The restaurant is dirty with food on the tables and floors even though I t's after 8:00 so they aren't busy. During lunch when they are very busy the tables stay clean and the service is much better. I'm not sure what has happened to this place. A couple of years ago I could order anything from here with the confidence that I would be nothing short of pleased. However of late I'm having to find other places to order from as each time I'm either shorted something or received something I didn't order. There is absolutely no point in giving customers the option to customize their order if whoever is making the order isn't going to pay attention. I enjoy McAlister's deli for a quick reliable lunch. I typically choose from a few different things when I go. I would say my favorite sandwich is the french dip. The roast beef is always lean and they don't skimp on the au jus. If available, I get the chicken tortilla soup. Ask for extra chips on the side because that's the best part! It is spicier than one might expect but in a delicious way. Second choice soup goes to the Broccoli & Cheddar. I've never left a review for any restaurant until now. I made a Yelp account just for this. A friend took me here telling me how good the potatoes usually are. It was not busy at all. Most things were fine except for the kid who took our order with airpods in his ears the whole time, who got our order wrong. We both ordered a max potato with a drink. His cost about 9 dollars, and then I ordered separately and it cost me over 11 dollars. The potatoes came both without olives and one without green peppers.
