As I was sitting in the parking lot across the street I noticed there was a McAlister's Deli. I have not seen one of these in Illinois but have been to one out in St. Louis. So I opened up their menu online and was super easy to place an order and prepay. I had a New Yorker sandwich which I could only finish half. It was super yummy- no fat and made just like I like it. Yup yup yup. The one at ISU is better but oh my. Walking around Naperville with this obnoxiously large lemonade makes me feel special. This is our go to place. This review is not for the food. Which has always been great. For the past 1.5 years we've always ordered our food via the app and used their drive up service. Nice with 2 kids and a busy schedule. Today, we pulled up and waited and waited. Everyone ignored our car, finally someone opened the window and said "we don't do drive up anymore unless you call us to order. You have to come in to pick up orders. I understand with staffing, but maybe put up a sign? Stating their new strange practice? I mean, you want me to call and bother a busy employee to order food? Instead of using the app? Not a great practice and no sign stating this - I imagine they have a ton of confused customers right now. If someone at the store reads this - consider your practice and how much business this could lose you. read more

1st time visitor today for lunch. DELICIOUS! Ample menu, spacious & clean seating - friendly staff - large portions .... I can't say enough good things about McAlister's Deli! I had the Choose 2 (1/2 French dip, 1/2 chef's salad). The bowl of au-jus was the perfect amount, the roll soft, yet crunchy. The roast beef was tender & the salad huge for a half-portion. I am so happy to hear that McAlister's will be opening a location in Montgomery in early 2020. I will be a regular customer. read more

Great food, service slow as hell. They had 4 people working in front and at least 5 in the back you could see, so no mercy points because of staffing. 3 tables of customers inside. No line to order. Decided to bring home lunch from McCalister's Deli, Lincoln Hwy, Mokena IL. We ordered two salads, Southwest Chicken Salad and Savannah Salad. The Southwest Salad was great, and the Savannah Salad was rather a disappointment. The cranberries in the salad were as hard as rocks, so hard you could not chew them. Maybe next time McAlister's Deli, I leave the Savannah Salad on the Menu. read more

Opening day @mcalistersdeli... late lunch for me. I had already decided on a Reuben before I arrived. A good benchmark for me and I was pleasantly satisfied with my to-go order once I got home. The bread could have been toasted a bit more, but the very lean flavorful corned beef is what I was after. Just the right amount of sauerkraut and dressing. I hate it when other delis try to impress you with 2" of sauerkraut. A great tasting pickle wedge too. When I was standing in line I was asked what drink I would like and that was brought out before my order was even taken. They have one size... Thirsty-two! I didn't realize the sandwich came with a side and at a very reasonable price. I went with their mac n cheese, but was too full to eat it. It should nuke up nicely. Opening week: drive thru opens next month. Parking lot fills quickly. Over staffed as lots of coaching is ongoing on the job. Big menu. Service quality needs improvement its a bit sketchy and chaotic. Roles and responsibilities are being defined but right now lots of effort and redundancy which actually can diminish the customer experience when your asked every two minutes how is everything. It took multiple staff members to determine where to deliver another order and they ended up using the receipt and not the numbered card system. The Big Nasty is an open faced beef with cheese and brown gravy on a baguette entree it was nice to have an item with gravy but turkey might be better as this was a bit salty but that is common. My side of macaroni and cheese was better than I expected it was not dry. The chicken tortilla soup was so-so I liked the two tiny tortilla chips on the side but not the chives on top. I want to try a melt and spuds next time. Pricing is a bit high but it is like Patio they serve your table. read more

Lots of sides-fresh fruit cup, chips, other items all looked good. I'm going to have to try the Ultimate Nachos-made with Rotel, so that's a start. This has great options. Food is good. Me and my boyfriend ordered 2 Italian sandwiches. Got home to find they were heated up. Just as other reviewers had mentioned about this same sandwich, an Italian sandwich is not meant to be heated. Ended up throwing it in the freezer for a few minutes. Staff should at least ASK customers know if they want a sandwich heated or not, or let them know it's typically heated and if someone is OKAY with that. Will probably just go to Subway or Jersey Mike's for one next time. read more

I was a big fan before this location opened and this McAlister's does NOT disappoint! The food is consistent and very good. Once you find your favorite it's hard to stray. What sets this location apart, however, is the service; particularly the man that works the front, Demetrio. Demetrio always has a smile on his face and is the hardest worker in Naperville. He is always happy to clear your plate and get you a refill! The rest of the staff is also helpful. The owner, Ravi, is very friendly and will take the time to talk to you. Popped into this Deli with a Co worker for lunch and boy have I been missing out .... Service was excellent!!! We were greeted instantly, given time to look over the menu, as well as given recommendations. There are toons of items to choose from a I especially like their choose 2 option. So not knowing the portion sizes and reading some reviews of small portions. I ordered the Southwest Turkey melt, managers Suggestion. It was delish! The bread was soft with a nice crust. Meat was hot and there was plenty of it, the Guac was delish as well... I accompanied that with Mac n Cheese, which was horrible. Just too commercial. It was fake tasting and runny. Good for a kids just not a good choice for me. I also got a cup of Fire Roasted Veggie soup.... That was the bomb, the flavor was perfect. My friend got the New Yorker and it was huge!!!!! She got it with Cole Slaw and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup.. I can say the soup n side disappeared. Whoever thought this restaurant concept thru, did an Amazing job... The food was good but we ordered a gallon of sweet tea with blueberry and it only tasted like sweet tea and I called to ask if I could bring it back to get more blueberry in it but when I called she told me that they added it and then told me to shake the drink up like I had not did that very annoying I usually have a problem with the gallon tea I don't think they know how much of a different flavor to add in since it's a big size difference from the regular drink. read more

It's been a while since I've been to the Naperville location. Today, the food quality was off and there was a sanitation concern. Our order was dine in. The plates the food was served on were filthy, soiled with food stains which were not post dishwasher rinse. They placed a paper food wrap on the bottom of the plates beneath the meal which still did not cover the entire food space. It was a total turn of. We paid but left the food. I can only imagine if the hands preparing the meal were even clean. I will not come here ever again. read more

We've eaten there numerous times but is looking like the the lease is running out. Bathrooms were a mess even tho no customers at 3:30 pm. One employee sitting in a booth for 30 minutes on her phone. The person taking the orders was nice but having beard hair over my food was not appealing. The bench at the table was broken & a child could be thrown thru the air if an adult sat down. My husband and I have stopped in a few times for lunch. I love the pick two option on their menu and both he and I normally do that. I am not a potato fan so I can not say anything about the potato's they offer but their sandwiches are very good. I have tried a few different sandwiches and have never been disappointed. Had a pick 2, a New Yorker and a cup of chili as well as a diet Dr Pepper. The good: Chili was excellent with a little spice. Sandwich was good, a little drippy (is that a word?) but taste was excellent. They also have a row of high tops which I like when have lunch. The bad: Total bill was 11.28 pre tax. This was for really half a sandwich, a cup of chili and a refillable drink. Just seemed to be a lot of $ for what I received. The ugly: The sandwich and chili come on a larger white plate. Which was filthy. Parmasean cheese, pieces of lettuce and other food products that were not on my sandwich/chili. Like they built a salad, then removed it all and reused my plate. I ordered a choose two with the items a cup of tortilla soup and a smoky turkey pepper jack sandwich. My only modifications for my order was no honey mustard add mayo. Instead I received a sandwich with only turkey. The menu describes it with turkey, bacon, pepper jack cheese and honey mustard. Very disappointing! I was on a time crunch and couldn't even wait for them to re make it. The tortilla soup was okay. I'd rather go to Jason's deli over McAllisters. I paid a little over $10 for the entree and a tea. Not a bad price but with what I received it was too much. I didn't bother eating the sandwich it was unappetizing and the ciabatta bread was greasy. Overall, we like their food. The ice tea is great (we do unsweetened). Love their potatoes and usually do the veggie spud. The last couple times I ordered what I thought would be a fresh deli (Turkey) sandwich, we got a toasted panini type sandwich. So beware - their menu doesn't say the sandwich is cooked, but it is, and it's awful. It ruins the lunch meat (unless you like cooked lunch meat sandwiches). I just went to the McAlisters in Mokena. I didn't realize their summer hours closed at 8pm. I was there 10 minutes before. They were just as eager go serve me as if it were 12 noon. Others came in behind me and no one mentioned their emanate closing. My sandwich and chili was prepared swiftly and was delish. I took it to a nearby forest preserve to share with the birds. Ok so you asked for it.... I now have to write a break up letter to Panera. McAlister's was so much better! I'm so glad my husband decided to take me here for lunch. We had a bad experience with Panera last time, the food quality dropped big time. I didn't think I would enjoy the Italian sandwich as much as I did but it was great. It was a little unusual because it was hot and toasted, but that actually worked for it. I got potato salad instead of chips. It was good. I didn't expect it but I'll be getting potato salad with my meals from now on. The broccoli and cheddar soup was hands down the best I've had. And the dressing on the Caesar salad was awesome! I AM BOILING I ORDERED A BLT EXTRA TOMATOES. They normally toast my bread and this time it was SOFT! I was DISGUSTED.
