Have enjoyed McAlister's Deli since they opened. We ordered ONE quart of Chicken and Dumplings soup today for a very sick loved one at home. Waited 35 minutes in the restaurant after placing the order and getting a receipt to get the soup and the restaurant wasn't busy as it was 3PM or so .. no real clear explanation about why we waited all that time in a virtually empty restaurant for a quart of soup. Love their food but this was a bad day to have to deal with bad service with a very sick loved one at home who is having trouble eating anything but mild foods. I know things happen and people make mistakes but usually these things happen when a restaurant is busy. Do better you guys. read more

The food is good. Some of the staff are untrained. My issue is when you get your receipt there is a survey for you to fill out for a free cookie on your next visit. I have 4 receipts showing they charged me for the FREE cookie! Why give you a coupon if your register does not really allow you to give the patron a FREE cookie?? I brought the receipts in and after showing them and re-adding they refused to make it right. Don't bother doing the survey folks as you will NOT get a free cookie. Too bad as the sandwiches are good, but the cheating leaves a BAD taste in my mouth. We were going at least once every 3 to 4 days. Now we go maybe 2 times a month. I've never been to Mcalisters until today, never got to order and will never be back. I walked in and there was an elderly couple that walked in behind me with one cashier at the counter taking an order from another customer. Very shortly after I arrived at the counter another gal walked up to a register and said hi and that was all. At this point I figured she was clocking in/ out and patiently waited my turn as I was next. About a minute later the newly arrived employee said to the couple behind me " if you're ready I'll take your order." They walk up and give their order as I stand in astonishment. Now the other cashier finishes up and asks another customer if she could take his order. That was enough for me! I very politely leaned over and told the cashier that this was my first and last time here. She simply replied "okay." If your business is customer service, shouldn't the employees be trained on proper customer service skills? If that employee came to the counter to take my order she should have said something other than "hi." Something more along the lines of "may I take your order." read more

The food is really good here the sauces that they use on the sandwich that I had made the whole thing. Their ingredients and bread were very fresh. I find their drive-through process strange. We arrived and had to make a phone call and then wait in the parking lot for 10 minutes and then go through the drive-through which was absolutely bizarre. Everyone I work with loves McAlisters. They have a great menu and I love that we can order ahead and go through the drive thru to get our lunch. We only get 30 minutes at my work so it helps! That way we can get food and enjoy it. I really wish they had delivery though! read more

Five stars for the salads! All around great sandwiches too. Call ahead for drive-thru service, or stay and eat on the patio. No-frills restaurant but very clean. A bit noisy during peak time. I personally am not a big sweet tea drinker but theirs is good. read more

I was underwhelmed. The food was fine, but I was expecting more of a hometown kind of deli. Their service is very quick and friendly. They keep the place clean and tidy. But the food is eh. I ordered the ultimate nachos, which was more like ultimate chili with a lot of chips. The cheese was pretty much nonexistent, and I left the majority of it uneaten. I was happy to see that the kids menu was inexpensive, but the grilled cheese looked and tasted like it had been made and sitting for hours. Yuck yuck yuck. The sandwich I ordered was disgusting. If I had known they drown their sandwiches in mustard I would have asked for none. The consistency of their Mac and cheese was that of baby food! Just a glob of mush. When I stopped the manager and told her I wasn't very fond of my food, she didn't even ask if she could get me something else to try. Very poor customer service. The girl taking orders was pretty rude and basically complained that she had to be there at work. She looked miserable. Awful experience and will NOT be dining there again. read more

Have been multiple times and the food and tea are wonderful, the service on the other hand has room for improvement. It is sad when you are in Idaho and order a baked potato and they are out, happened to us twice. If you are not going to serve baked potatoes take them off the menu. read more

Dined in 03/13/2016 for dinner. The exterior is new and clean. Very inviting. It was cold on the 13th and inside was warm. The employees were all very professional and nice. We had no problems ordering or getting our food. We ordered, received our number, then found our seats. Ten minutes passed and we received our meals. I ordered the Black Angus Club sandwich. Outstanding! Roast beef, bacon, lettuce, onion, tomato, horseradish. What set this sandwich apart from every other Black Angus club was the horseradish. It was sweet and tangy. Unfortunately the sandwich came with only one pickle. I went up to the front, asked for a few more and received them within seconds for no extra charge. I also ordered the Mac and Cheese as my side. Despite what other reviewers said there really is nothing wrong with it. Will the Mac and Cheese win awards? No. Will it turn you into a diseased, hairless Wolverine because it's so bad? No. For two entrees (my sandwich and my wife's Broccoli and cheese bowl), plus two sides and just water - the total was almost $15.00. Not bad. McAlister's has improved Twin Falls' cuisine scene. With burger joint after burger joint dotting Blue Lakes (and increasingly Pole Line Rd.) McAlister's offers something different. HERE'S A TIP: As of 03/14/2016 the drive thru window is ONLY for food that has been ordered in advance (i.e. online orders or call in's). UPDATE: 05/09/2016: The owner responded to my review. She confirmed that the drive thru line is for advance orders, but you can still get drinks, desserts or soups without a previous order being placed. Now, go getcha some McAlister's! read more

Just when I thought great food and service were a thing of the past, my husband and I stumbled across McAlister's Deli in Twin Falls, Idaho. Our overall experience was one the best we have had at any restaurant recently. The restaurant was immaculate, our order taker, a nice young man, was very polite, funny and informative. The food, (I had a Reuben sandwich and my husband had a salad) was fresh, tasty and delicious. We also had some of the best iced tea around and I'm very picky about the tea. Kuddos to Genl Mgr. Penni Andoe and her staff. Penni was fun and gracious and made us feel right at home. Awesome! When I come to visit my sister from out of state this is a MUST for us to eat at least once! She introduced me to the French Dip and it's absolutely amazing. Blows Arby's French Dip out of the water! Their Savannah salad was literally the best salad of that style that I've ever had. I'm a huge sweet tea guy, and I just found out they give a gallon to each customer free on Tuesdays, so I went in there today. I'm not the type of person to take something for free and not buy something, so I looked at the sandwiches. I decided on the New York sandwich, it was freaking awesome. A huge amount of corn beef on dark marbled rye, came with a side, I chose potato salad, it was great also. I showed 4 people my sandwich when I got back to work bragging about how good it was. I love baked potatoes. This place seems to understand the potato could BE the meal rather than just a side. I had a potato with cheese and bacon, plus a half club sandwich.
