I really, really like this cool place. I've been here twice when visiting Cascade. Their beers are delicious and unique. I got the Coconut Porter but also tried the Wobbly Man, Lemon Ginger, and Hoppy Hippie--all were delicious. The Wobbly Man is a smoked scotch ale which was very unique and delicious. I highly recommend. Also the Lemon Ginger one was really, really good. Well balanced flavors. The service was good. The food was delicious. I love the fried jalapenos. Great burgers too. They recently got some sweet artwork done for each of their beers. My husband and I each purchased a t-shirt and wished we could take the whole line up home--the art was so cool! T-shirts fit really well and are flattering on both of us. We will definitely return on our next trip to Idaho! read more

I will say right off the bat that I had no problem with service like others have mentioned. The service I had was great. We didn't eat food, however, and just drank a few beers. Their beer list is pretty big and they have rotatiing seasonsals. Still, there were about 9 beers to try. Their Doppel Bock as quite excellent as was their Mackinaw Red. They have a sampler for $8 which gives you 5 beers to try in about 3 oz. pours. Not a bad way to check out their selections. read more

Love going here! The atmosphere is great! The prices are a little high in my opinion. I got a salad with some shrimp on it that totaled to about $17. I finished the whole salad with ease. Beer sample was awesome! Favorites include: Lemon Ginger Hefeweizer, Mackinaw Red, and Hippie Hopped Pale Ale. We tried the Ahi Salad and although it wasn't the best I've ever had it was quite good. Ahi was topped with sesame seeds and seared perfectly. Fries weren't anything to write home about. Our server was awesome! Great beer joint! We sat up top on the deck...My faves: The coconut porter is devine and the ginger/lime is good too. I tasted my husband smoky porter and it was really great too. I think I ordered the wrong dish, fish and chips, kinda boring but the french fries were great, especially dipped in my fave, dijon mustard. Maybe I should have done the French dip, it looked pretty good or a plate of nachos, which looked about 8 inches high when it passed by our table. Anyway the waiter dude was super friendly and top of his game, great mood and attitude, sorry we didn't get your name but you made a funny about your bald head. We will be back! read more

Stopped in for a brew while walking around McCall. We sat at the bar and we served almost immediately. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the beer selection and guided us in the right direction. She was very personable as well. I came to McCall City Brewery a year before during winter carnival for dinner and had a horrible experience. Safe to say this time was completely opposite, I'll be back for more brews! I've eaten here before and loved their beer and fish and chips. HOWEVER, this last visit erases all of the goodwill this company has ever earned from me. For goodness sakes, I buy their beer at the grocery store in Boise. But never again -- I'd rather drink cheap bottom of the barrel generic swill. We had service problems, forgotten drinks, and my wife was trying to fix it, by telling the waitress to take it off our bill since we already had our food. So another waitress, heavily tatted with a tank top and shorts - decided to be rude and boorish to my wife by telling her she was a "Rude B". So my wife told her to get her manager - and waitress told her "You don't ever tell me what to do". So me, being the non-interventionist in these matters, had more than I can take, and I told her behavior can't be tolerated. She said something I have a hard time recalling, and I told her, you know what - just bring me my check as I can't stand this place any longer. She said "I would be very happy to do that" with a huge grin on her face. Needless to say, I didn't take another bite or a sip because I just couldn't. So the manager came over and spoke with my wife and said she'd take care of it. Well, it didn't get taken care of, obviously. Waitress comes by 10 minutes later skipping and dancing by our table as if to rub it in. We told the manager AGAIN and she cancelled the bill and we left. On the way out my wife was talking to me, and this waitress got in both of our faces following us into the parking lot. Seriously, the PARKING LOT yelling at us? I told her to back off that we aren't even talking to her, but she apparently has an anger management problem and can't handle customers. Like I said, never again. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My husband ordered the MBC Nachos and the Caritas burrito. The "nachos" were tortilla chips with microwaved cheese on them. The burrito had "carnitas" meat that had been cooked down for so long that when combined with the rice, looked like literal dog food and was bland and mushy like oatmeal. He ate two bites and could not stomach to eat anymore of it! I ordered the Ahi salad and while the Ahi tuna and salad dressing tasted good, there was nothing else to the salad except lettuce and some crunchy strips- not worth the $17! The service was also terrible, we sat there for a good 20 minutes with no one checking in on us before I could flag someone down to tell them how displeased we were with the meal. Then a old grumpy waitress thought it necessary to tell us that the food was fine and no one had ever complained, which is doubtful considering how terrible it was, she also told us not to come back in, and after this experience, we will never be back. We paid for my salad and our drinks and left. Don't waste your time here and go to Salmon River Brewery instead if your looking for a good brewery. read more

Yes the food and beer are great! But, what I really appreciate is they stay open past 6:00 pm and sell a good variety of T-Shirts, Hoodies and Sweat Shirts, and hats! Needed some souvenirs and McCall businesses close at 6:00. So, if you want souvenirs that are a little different, come here! Kudos to the graphic designer! Nice selection! read more

Just finishing up a two and half week trip from coeur d' Alene to Salt Lake City. Last stop McCall And more specifically a hotel walking distance to McCall Brewery. This was to be the last bang to my trip and looked forward to it, unfortunately I was turned away an hour before close. I planned on going in an hour before close to beat the rush and sit down to a nice beer with dinner. Keep in mind it's a Wednesday and a small town. My plan also was to by shirts for friends and stickers to promote the brewery in my business. I came here two years ago and had a great experience and have been waiting for this opportunity to experience it again. It's very disappointing they couldn't accommodate me, me only being the person in my party. I could maybe be more understanding if I was a big party, but no they didn't even try. McCall brewery isn't for its people, the people who support them and drink their beer. Good thing is there are plenty of other breweries and beer choices to choose from that isn't this brewery. Bad business practices don't get my business. If you come to McCall go to Salmon River Brewing, they care about their beer drinkers that support them. read more

Went here last weekend with my wife. We arrived just after they opened. I ordered a Hippie Hop and she got an English Ale. My wife disliked her choice in beer (she regretted not sampling it first) and asked for a Hippie Hop instead. Anyway, took 40 minutes to get food, very pricey for what it was... I got a chicken burger and she got a turkey sammy. They charged us for her first beer - which she only had one sip of. Never been to a brewery that charges you if you dislike your beer choice. It irritated me and I will be going to Salmon River Brewing next time I am in McCall. I should also mention the service was slow and we were the only ones there. Will definitely be recommending SRB over MBC to my friend who visit the area. read more

The food is your typical bad bar food. Service is lacking. Fish and chips are obviously frozen from a bag, apparently this is what they are known for. The burgers are overcooked and have a fake smoke/flame broiled flavor. These are frozen patties as well. The fries were cold and the food took a very long time to come out. Our beer glasses sat empty way too long. I asked for my burger to be med-rare and it came out well done. I was honest with the bartender when she asked "how was everything?" All I was able to get out was the fact that the burger was way over cooked. The bartender said "I told the cooks to make it med-rare." That was the end of that. A free beer would have went a long waaaay. We won't be back, but I'm sure they will have no problem reeling in the unexpected traveler. read more

We were staying the night in McCall and almost missed this amazing place. Thank goodness I suggested we eat there for dinner. Our waitress Karen was amazing. She made the experience enjoyable with her friendly personality, and knowledge of the town. The beer was great and the food was even better. The building was built in the 1820's so it had a rustic lodge feel to it. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family! Great experience! read more

After arriving in town for a weekend get-away, we came to McCall Brewing for some beers. Upon arrival, there was no issue getting a table in the bar. We were quickly greeted by the bartender and given menus. We weren't interested in food as it was about 3pm. We ordered 2 of their beer samplers ($8). The beer samplers featured 5 of your choice beers. Between us both, we came super close to ordering all of their beer offerings. My favorite was the Coconut porter, however we agreed that all their beers tasted very clean. We couldn't name one that we didn't like, but that also means that there wasn't a beer that was standout amazing. We had friendly and quick service the entire time and were happy with the price to product ratio. read more

Not very good. Beer was solid and server was very nice. Low end diner quality food despite the menu making some of the dishes sound above average. Dont be fooled . Obviously instant mashed potatoes and ahi salad looked like it was pulled out of a salad bag and thrown on the plate with hardly anything else to supplement the salad. Chicken sandwich was average.
