Awesome restaurant with a great variety of food for even a picky eater. I had the Ruben and fries which was delicious. The wife had the Chicken Marcella which she loved. Prices are very reasonable and a great assortment of adult beverages. Great for kids with seating indoors and outdoors. Highly recommended!!!

Found this great spot hiding on a hill top in Carmel. Great family eatery!! A casual fun place with cold beer, nice cocktails, and great food. Place has charm and from what I hear they host so very cool events. The back patio complete with waterfall is absolutely adorable. Look, this is not fine dinning or anything fancy..it's a cool, come as you are type of place with friendly staff and nice clientele. If you find yourself in this beautiful town, definitely stop in for a nice drink and a great burger..ENJOY!!

Nice place. Searching Google for a local place to go, I came across "McCarthy's Grill House" and it looked interesting enough to try. For some reason on Yelp it's "McCarthy Family Eatery" - so not sure which one it's supposed to be. Once inside, it looks like an old school bar and pub, but there's booths and another room with plenty of tables. The place has a nice feel. There's a pool table, an old school arcade game, and just a generally comfortable feel. The menus looked good, was varied enough, and most of the prices were reasonable. The waiter was friendly enough. They put out a bowl of chips and water upon sitting. Be careful not to eat too much of the chips, as they may fill you up before the actual food comes. I always order a bacon cheeseburger when I come to a new place simply because I like it and it's an easy dish, that if the place messes that up then I won't be looking to try anything else. I ordered the French Onion soup, which was good. My companion ordered the Lobster Bisque - which I tried a little of and it was very good. The burger itself was good and cooked correctly, though I wasn't a fan of the poppy seed roll used as a bun. A roll as a bun is fine, but perhaps a heads up that it's a poppy seed roll. I'm not a fan of poppy seeds at all, but it wasn't the end of the world. The fries were fine. There's outdoor seating for when the weather gets nicer. The parking lot is ok enough. It's up a long hill, so drive fast enough and you may miss the turn into this place. Overall a nice place and I would come here again for sure.

The food and service are okay here but it could use an influx of youth. The Ambiance is a little outdated.

We had a delicious prix fixe VDay menu that was hands-down one of the best meals we've had in years. We are transplants from the city and felt like we were back in Brooklyn. Every bite was mouth-watering, from the salted butter and warm bread to the perfectly dressed beet and bitter green salad...to the delicious steak, halibut, and pots de creme and olive oil cake for dessert. What an absolute treat, made only better by the attentive and congenial waitstaff that made you feel like a regular. Oh, and the drinks - the mixologist at the bar created a perfect drink every time! And thanks for coming to say hello, Kaitlyn! Cannot recommend this place enough - do not let the strip mall locale deter you - this place is worth it in every way! It should be wall-to-wall waitlist every night - prepare to be delighted!

It was a nice night so we sat outside and they really do have a nice patio by the lake. I started with an old fashioned that was very well made. Having looked online, I knew I wanted to try the short rib tacos and the fig, goat cheese and prosciutto flat bread. Both were very good and I probably could have stopped there because I was getting full. Definitely recommend those two appetizers. For my entree, I had the chicken schnitzel which came with potato salad. The schnitzel was fine. I enjoyed it but it's not something I would go out of my way to have again. I will say that the Czech-style potato salad was amazing. I would go out of my way to get more of that....hands down the best potato salad I've ever had. Service was friendly but a little scattered. I would have liked another drink but after our entrees were dropped, we couldn't get our waitress to come by and the food runner couldn't take a drink order. Again, nice service but just not polished. I think this is a place worth visiting. Definitely try some potato salad!

We also shared the fig and prosciutto flatbread, which was full of flavor and one of my favorites of the night. For our entrée, my husband and I split the Czech-style chicken schnitzel. The coating was golden and crisp, and it came with a traditional potato salad that was so good we asked for an extra side. Service was attentive and friendly, and we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The setting is also a highlight--whether you sit inside or enjoy the outdoor seating overlooking Lake Carmel, it feels relaxed and special. We'll definitely be back!

The place was busy, but the staff still made us feel completely taken care of. I'm usually not a fan of prix fixe menus and had my heart set on trying the Beef Wellington, but honestly, I didn't feel like I missed out at all. My filet and husbands lobster ravioli were both delicious, and the appetizers were just as impressive. Their wine selection was also really nice and paired perfectly with dinner. They were sold out of 2 of the bottles we initially requested so that speaks for itself ! We ended the night with a soufflé and a tart for dessert, which was the perfect sweet finish.
