Delicious food! We love to go there for lunch and enjoy their outdoor seating near the waterfall. Most of all, we love our waitress' Gina and Beatrice!! Very attentive, friendly and accurate! For Superbowl we had wings catered from this place and holy crap were they terrible. Firstly they were so small my infant child was able to fit the entire wing up his nose with ease. Thats not all ! They didn't even burn the little guy because the wings were not even sauced with anything remotely "buffalo" flavored. My family and I eat here often! The food and service is great even when they are busy! Very expansive menu with great options! This is a solid restaurant. Good comfort food. I never review on the first visit, but I like this place. Listen, it's not fancy. The nachos are served on parchment paper in a plastic basket. But they're good. Sloppy, yummy, loaded with all the good stuff. My son had a cheesesteak. He liked it. My husband had a specialty burger. He liked it. It was cooked properly. I had the shepards pie. It was good. Too much to finish. The wait staff was great. Plenty of tv's. Great music playing. There is a nice patio out back that must be great in nicer weather. This has been a regular place for us but I am very unhappy with the quiet changes they have been making. They used to have great fries but have now changed to a cheaper tasteless French fry. I did let them know it was an awful change. Tonite we went for my favorite half honey dipped fried chicken. They have now reduced it to three pieces. So my half chicken was missing a thigh and hubbys was missing a wing so every half a chicken is missing a part and yes the menu claims half a chicken? My salad was wilted and actually starting to brown I had to send it back to be replaced with fresh salad the second salad came out fresh so that tells me they had fresh salad but chose to put out the wilted salad first. My burger was under cooked instead of giving me a new burger cooked properly they chose to give me back the burger ripped in half and buns still soaked in Greece when I spoke to the owner and the answer was very poor I also ordered a carafe of red wine and because they were out of The house wine they couldn't fill my request. they could not give me the next red wine?the wine being sold out is not the customers fault,The right thing to do would be to use your better wine and make the customer happy. the downfall of this restaurant is the owner The staff is friendly but the owner has ruined this place she is the cause of the negativity the only thing on her mind is making money not recommended anymore by me i'm not going back read more

I have been to McCarthy numerous time, my meals have always been pretty good to say the least. That's why I have been a repeat customer. Last nite I went there with my wife and daughter for a early dinner. The selection of soups are amazing the two soups we ordered were perfect and great tasting as well. The wife's cranberry bleu salad was very good and a great portion size. The waiter was very friendly and a pleasure to be served by. The 2 burgers we ordered on the other hand were not good to say the least. I ordered mine medium which pretty much was as rare as you can get. After the second bite the blood running out of it was way to much for me by far. Actually when the waiter came over to see if all was ok, I said not really my burger was way to rare he said no problem we will recook that one I also said all the blood on the roll can I have another roll with that burger, absolutely. My daughter who ordered her burger well done, was also rare after her third bite no where near well done hers went back as well. Mind you we are the only ones in the restaurant at the time so I believe its kind of hard to not pay attention to the only two burgers cooking in the kitchen. Well to my surprise the same two burgers we sent back came back well done which I knew was going to happen to my burger anyway at least now my daughter was happy as I was not, I did get a new half roll to accommodate part of the burger that was cut off to make it look appetizing when they sent it back to us, I guess. My complaint, to send out the same 2 burgers your chef screwed up on is not acceptable, you guys could do better and put 2 new burgers on the grill and send those out, are you guys that hard pressed to save a dollar come on penny wise dollar foolish!. I won't be back for a while so now you guys saved a penny but lost my dollars in the the near future!!! Good Job read more

My father and sons (ages 14 and 12) frequented McCarthy's last night (February 17th) for dinner. We ordered two 16 ounce NY Strip Steaks (one rare and one medium rare), fried Haddock, and 2 bowls of French onion soup. One order of the soup was requested to be brought with the entrees as a meal. I'm sad to say the steaks were TERRIBLE. Not only were they cooked well done but one of then was almost completely fat and grizzle. My father would NOT let us send the food back. Normally that is something I would never do either but this was just terrible. At $24.99 per steak, this was very disappointing. I would avoid McCarthy's for this reason. read more

I live very near McCarthy's and I'm so glad I do. The best burgers, fries, soup and sandwiches in Carmel in a relaxed setting. While the decor could use a little updating, the menu and service are just what you want in a casual restaurant. During the warm months there's a great outdoor area...as long as you're upwind from the smokers. During the cold months, there's a huge soup menu to enjoy. read more
