I had to have the hot water heater replaced and the rv mechanic had to go to McClain's to get it. Highway robbery! Charge just about $1000 for a Dometic hot water heater! Same water heater available on Amazon for just $500!!! Also I made the mistake of going there for repairs last year. I got talked into tires. Two days later I was to leave for a camping trip with my family at Mammoth Cave State Park. My son and grandchildren came from MA. I couldn't stay at the park because one of the new tires had a flat. I called McClains and was told maybe I ran over a nail. When I got back I went to another location to get it repaired. It was a loose valve stem. $52.00! They did the roof. What a mess they made. I had crap running down the side. I don't know how the got so much stuff blown around inside. And the seams are terrible. My new mechanic says I'll be lucky if the seams last a year now the rv is out is storage and especially since I'll be going to Florida. The weather is tough on the coast, wind, sun, thunderstorms! First time RV buyers. Mcclains allowed us to drive off their lot with 6 year old tires. We had 3 blowouts (would've been 4) within our first 150 miles. Our fault for not checking and being dumb, but shame on them for doing that to their paying customers. We were none the wiser and trusted them to take care of us. Cost us $1k in product and time sitting we'll never get back. Stranded on busy interstates with no spares and trepidation. They also installed a starlink without giving us the info. to hook it up. It took us 3 weeks, multiple calls, and begging to get someone to come out, get on top of the unit and uninstall it to give us the info. we needed to register it so it could be used. The pre sale check that cost $1500 was falsified and items were marked as working when they were not - as discovered with the first 36 hours of ownership. Some of these items placed my child and I in hazardous situations . You can review full documentation on the Texas State Attorney General's website and the Better Business Bureau. Looked around and found 2 rv's we liked. Drove back home and sales called and ask how much I owed on mine and he offered 1/2 of what I owed on it. Insulating. I purchased a Class B - Grech Strada from McClains (Rockwall) in April 2024. Salesman Steve Cathey helped me throughout the entire process and made the purchase experience relaxed and fun. Steve has a great personality and very knowledgable on the Grech quality and history. Right after the purchase, my wife and I made a trip to Tennessee and back to Texas. (This Grech has every conceivable feature and g ) Upon our return, I returned my RV to McClains for a minor repair and met the GM Brad Wilkinson along with service tech Trey Cluck. They were all truly outstanding, positive and very professional. I've purchased several RV's in my life, but never had a more pleasant experience than the Rockwall McClains staff. One of the worst RV places I have been, a soon as I walked through the door everyone started looking at us and would not look away, one of the guys took us out, and when we said what we were looking for he looked confused, and started showing us random rvs, that was not even in our price, not even what we were looking for! I went there today an Nathan explained and cleared up the issue in polite terms that was understood. Nathan seems to be doing his best to resolve the issue. STAY AWAY!!!! Spend your money elsewhere, this place has the WORST customer service and their quality/craftsmanship in repair is suboptimal. I bought my RV 1/3/24. I was bullied by the financial guy, Danny Pak. Who badgered me to take their GAP/EXT warranty policies, after I told him no, I already had those policies established with other companies. He said McClains policies were like Neiman Marcus and the policies I had were like Walmart. Ken, the salesman received a photo text from me about a part that needed to be fixed on my sink. His response was "I don't know how to get this to my service department... " I told them of most issues before I left the lot. A man came out and told me, don't worry, come back in 30 to 45 days and we will fix everything. he said I would get a call. I never received a call. I sent an email stating everything that needed to be fixed before arriving. They fixed a few things,but told me they weren't fixed? The repairs are worse than the original issues. I was told I could contact another grand design warranty dealership and take my RV elsewhere. Below are the issues, Trim piece above the freezer had a few wrinkles in the veneer. I get it back with the new trim piece scraped and the trim next to it now has a notch cut in it that wasn't there before. They have known since 1/5/24 that I needed a new sink, for a screw missing. They had my RV for a week and a half and it still didn't get it replaced. A riser on the stair was loose. Multiple staples placed sporadic and hanging out was the repair. They dropped something on the floor and dented the linoleum and scratched the toe kick with their carelessness during repairs. read more

Buyers please beware I have gone back and forth with this dealership, and the Winnebago warrantee department. I bought a brand new 2025 unit and this has been the hardest time of my life. Below is the letter I wrote to the dealership. Hoping they make this right. I'll update my review with the resolution: Dear McClain's RV Team, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the experience I've had since purchasing a 2025 Winnebago Access BH30 from your dealership. Despite your deflections of responsibility, it is clear that McClain's RV holds significant accountability for the unacceptable condition of this unit and the hardships I have endured as a result. Since purchasing this RV, I have only been able to use it for 14 days in total, beginning October 25, 2024. For the rest of this time, the RV has been unusable due to substantial issues that should never have been present in a new unit. These include: Multiple water leaks that were not adequately addressed by your service team, resulting in water damage and subsequent mold growth that has made the RV uninhabitable. Structural failures, such as broken dinette hardware and a non-functional stabilizing jack. Persistent interior damage, including peeling wallpaper and a foul odor caused by spoilage and water damage while the RV was at your service center. The Winnebago warranty department has stated that the blame lies primarily with McClain's RV. They explained that the water damage and mold stem from issues that were dismissed or inadequately addressed by your service team. According to them, there are no records of claims showing prior water damage, despite my having reported these problems directly to your staff. This suggests a lack of thorough inspection and proper handling on your part, leaving me and my family in an uninhabitable RV. Repeatedly, I've been told, "Have you read your contract? Even if we sold you a lemon, we aren't responsible for it." This dismissive and callous attitude is unacceptable and fails to acknowledge the hardship this has caused me and my family. As a single mother of three, this situation has caused immense stress and disruption to our lives. Being displaced from the RV forced me to visit my mother temporarily, where an altercation with my stepfather resulted in hospitalization. I endured an orbital bone fracture and other injuries, leading to two weeks of missed work and ongoing financial strain. While I understand this incident is not your direct responsibility, it highlights the ripple effect of being sold a faulty unit that I cannot use for its intended purpose. Adding to this distress, my children and I will be homeless as of December 30th if this issue is not resolved. The RV was purchased to be our primary residence, and without a resolution, we have nowhere to go. I sincerely hope that you all enjoyed your holidays, as my three children and I have spent this time simply trying to make ends meet and figure out where we are supposed to live due to the issues with this RV. The financial and personal toll of this ordeal is staggering. I've shared my experience with fellow campers at every stop, and the sentiment is consistent: McClain's RV has failed to provide the basic level of service and accountability that customers deserve. To resolve this matter, I demand the following: Replacement Unit: A new RV that is reliable, functional, and safe for use as my primary residence. Full Refund: If a replacement is not possible, I expect reimbursement for the full purchase price of the unit and consideration for the costs I've incurred due to its condition. I dont think the finance clerk likes Blacks. After getting approved, the finance manager questioned my husband several times if he worked for his employer, demanded that we provide proof of income and wanted 2 years Tax returns. After providing documents, she still refused the documents even after we were approved with $7,000 down payment which we was also willing to give $10,000. I felt she was obviously questioning that an African American could not and did not make the income we put on the application because she continued to questioned his income, wanting bank statements and questioning that he could not have his employer deposit his payroll into different bank accounts after we told her that the money is not just deposited in one bank account. She disagreed and demanded we bring in all the bank statements showing all the deposits. She was unprofessional, rude, bias, and prejudice. After providing proof of income and tax returns, she still would not accept the documents. We decided to take our money somwhere else. read more

We finally got our 2024 grand Design Solitude back yesterday after it had some repairs done for a few incidents we encountered over the past year and a half. Our Solitude was dropped off in the first week of June with Trey. The repairs took around three months due to various reasons such as getting parts and other unexpected issues. I realize I tend to expect things to be fixed as quickly as ordering fast food, but during the time our unit was in the shop, I had the chance to reflect on this. I'm really happy that the necessary time and correct parts were used to ensure that our unit was properly taken care of. Trey was upfront from the beginning when I dropped it off, and he provided updates without being overbearing. He was also quick to respond whenever I had a question during the repairs. Besides the repairs, we had a full detail done, and it's amazing how it feels like we have a brand new Solitude. It was also a pleasant surprise when Trey delivered the unit to our home without me even asking, especially considering the current traffic on I-30. Jim delivered the unit and impressed my wife with his skill and professionalism in backing our trailer into a very tight spot where I usually need help. In conclusion, I'm really grateful for the time and effort put into the repairs. It's just like dining at a restaurant - when they say my meal will be out in five minutes, it reflects the care that went into preparing it. We purchased a trailer from McClain's in March 2023 and took it in for servicing in March 2024. When I called they said it would take about 6 hours and would cost $225. They were "checking" battery, tire pressure, furnace, water heater, fridge and roof. We had no issues with the trailer and NO repairs were made. When we went to pick it up, they said the charge was $1458. She said I must have misunderstood that it was $225 PER HOUR. I think they are a rip off and definitely would STAY AWAY!!!! We stopped at McClain's RV along I-35 just north of Lewisville,TX to buy some RV toilet paper. They had some but there was no price on them so I asked the girl behind the counter. She said, 'I will have to check, they raised all our prices on these items when all this stuff started.' They wanted $9.99 for 4 regular size rolls. We typically pay $3.98 for 4 rolls. We had other items we were wanting to get but I told her that because of their price gouging they had lost a customer. She said 'we aren't price gouging!' - I just said as I left - 'you need to look up the definition of the word'. Please share!!! What ever you do don't buy an RV from McClains RV in Rockwall TEXAS They are a-holes. Trying to charge me for a couple of issues I had with my KZ191BHK. WHICH IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. Had a propane leak during the winter months at the hose connector which they said they couldn't duplicate the issue. Told me I needed a video to prove it. Had a huge storm blowing through on father's day weekend HA! Said they Doust water at it....lmao no leakage but the entire top bunk was wet. The the frame damage. They stated the frame isn't bent. Funny when you level the floor and check it at the tongue it runs upwards. They stated I owe the 110.00$ per line item which it's "was" still under warranty. These people are criminals. The financial guy Danny - told me if I didn't take the extended warranty the owner would have a problem with it. That was my clue to walk out but we wanted the camper. It's been in 4 times already for issues. You talk about buyer's remorse. JUST DONT BUY FROM THEM. IM SEEKING LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST THEM. 110.00$ for each individual issue. After a long battle with Nathan at McClains and going through the better business bureau Mike Robertson from McClains service department contacted me . He was very friendly and wanted to help resolve my issues with my RV. Mike listened to me and was apologetic about my experience. Kassi was also extremely helpful by contacting me the day before to make sure our set appointment time was still good for my schedule and she called when the tech was on his way out to me. CJ came out and fixed everything I was complaining about and made sure my unit was safe for use. He was also very nice and apologetic about my experience. read more

This RV center has a fairly large selection of RVs but you MUST have a salesperson accompany you to see any of the outside inventory. The person at the front desk are nice and responsive but the sales people didn't give us any attention. This is the 2nd time that I have been to this RV store in 2 years and I really would not recommend them because they seem like they do NOT care at all. They are not conducive to "browsing" and seeing inside all of their inventory. We basically got ignored by the salespeople 2/2 times on different days/years. I doubt we will be back because they don't care about us. We are headed to Gander RV about 15 minutes away to see if we get better service. read more

Very disappointed - I purchased a new RV from mcclains in rockwall. Of course the sales staff was great, unfortunately I cannot say the same for service. They didn't check to make sure I had the right keys - fortunately, I did because we were taking it to our property in Oklahoma and the keys they gave us didn't work. Nathan was suppose to get a new set of matching locks, come up to us and replace them (getting the trailer on and off our land is challenging) . The locks should have been in almost 2 months ago - he won't take my calls or return messages. I went to several RV dealerships and was not always pleased with the service I received. But Clint was patient, knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. He didn't push me in any way, just explained in detail the way the Grand Designs are built and their options. He never spoke negative about any other RVs, just explained the differences. He kept in communication with me until the RV show and met me there. I feel comfortable and confident in my choice. My new home is a 2023 Grand Design Solitude 380FL-R. Can't say enough about how good the Service Dept. at McClains RV in Fort worth performs. Without a lot of detail, I had new furniture installed in my 2015 Grand Design Momentum that Grand Design warranted. The furniture arrived was installed, but was missing the 2 arm tables. Morgan the service writer was very tenacious in rectifying this problem. It took a few months, but Morgan was relentless, and though many road blocks were thrown at him he perservered and got the tables. I have owned 4 rv's, and the last 2 I have purchased from McClains. any place can sell rv's, but where the difference comes in is in the service department. The refrigerator in my 2020 Grand Design Reflection 150RL I purchased on 3/2/2020 failed while we were headed to Colorado at the end of June. We had to cancel our trip and return home. I called the Rockwall dealer where I bought it to get service scheduled on the morning of Monday June 29th. I was told on the first call I made to the service department that morning that being a McClain's Rockwall customer I would get a priority response and that the service rep would back ASAP in an hour or so. I waited around 3 hours and called again, this time I was told they were very busy but would call me back in a few hours. I waited another couple of hours and no response so I called again. Same story. Here it is July 7th and still no callback. I just called again and was told by whoever answered the phone that the Service Department is now staffed by 1 person and people have quit and or are out sick. My $35,000 RV is sitting in storage and out of commission with no refrigerator. I cannot use it. I am not very happy with McClain RV Rockwall. In the meantime I have scheduled a service appointment with the McClain's dealership in Ft Worth. I would have been ok if I would have been able to schedule an appointment at the dealership and I understand Covid 19 is having an immense impact on the RV business, but no response from the dealer in 9 days is not satisfactory. Also the staff saying theService Dept is a staff of 1, people have quit and or are out sick is not very professional. I would give a 0 if I could. read more

First off I would like to say that the customer service at the time of our purchase was impeccable. However, because of their negligence in following up on their 30 day warranty,We will probably not be back. We bought a beautiful new rig in April. We set out on a 1500 mile journey to SD. 500 miles into our trip we blew a tire. We got it replaced and moved on.. no big deal. It happens. 200 miles later, another tire same side. It was really difficult in the middle of this pandemic to find someone to replace tires on an RV. We decided we weren't going to take anymore chances and purchased all new tires. I have been emailing and texting McClains since April and when I call they know nothing about it. The tires were only 2 years old but they do fall under the 30 day warranty which McClains is not honoring. It's too bad.. Great group of people. Just beware.. and don't give up.! read more

After taking our newly purchased Grand Design out for a week at an RV resort in Austin, we could not drain the grey tank when preparing to go home. We drove it back to McClains full and Nathan Honzell Service Advisor Rockwall Texas met us to diagnose the problem. In a short time he gently let us know it was "user error". We found out everyone from the sales guy to the finance guy & even the manager are all brand new & know absolutely nothing. The only thing they were interested in was pushing us for money. Their customer service is atrocious & no one answers their phones or returns calls in a timely manner. My parents recommended McClain's after purchasing 2 travel trailers from them in OKC. After doing extensive online research, the Rockwall location had the travel trailer I was looking for and on sale. My sales representative was David Campbell and he was fantastic. He was extremely personable and friendly despite the temperatures being in the 90's. He showed me the trailers I was interested in seeing and discussed the pros and cons of each model. The sales process was extremely efficient and it wasn't a "hard" sell. He was even nice when I stopped by again to look at it before we closed on the final paperwork, even though it was time out from him showing to new customers. Jerry Hughes went through my walk through with me and was outstanding as well! He was patient, personable, showed me everything possible on the travel trailer, and walked me through the operation and switches. He took his time and didn't rush me and answered all of my questions. He also helped me pick out the important accessories that you need when you first purchase a trailer. The financing was a little trickier and is the only reason for not giving the location 5 stars. I ended up financing with my credit union for a better rate. I originally started the financing process with McClain's but the initial interest rate was far higher than the credit union and I wasn't notified of the better available interest rate before the closing date. I had issues with the Business Manager when I came back to close on the trailer because of this and the waiting to close took an extraordinarily long time. My overall interaction with this person was extremely frustrating. Despite that, when I emailed the owner about the issue, I received an immediate and professional response to my concern that indicated that McClain's cares about their customer's overall experience with them. read more

Went to McClain's RVs a few weeks ago trying to decide if we wanted a travel trailer or a motorhome my experience was not a pleasant one after driving an hour and a half we got to look at a few mostly sit at a table with a salesman going over stuff.. you guys really need to treat every person as a future customer I like to go around by myself to try to figure out what I want I felt like the salesperson didn't want to show us much because we weren't buying that day I promise we will be buying in a few months and I will not be back to McClain's .. you guys seem like it's more important to find out how someone is going to finance and y'all take way too much time with that and not enough letting the people see what you have to offer in the way of motorhomes ,travel trailers and so on...the salesman made me feel like I was wasting his time and he didn't listen to what I said I wanted he went directly to used motorhomes I didn't want used... read more

They have purchased several campers, with cash money. Our fifth wheel broke down near Rockwall and Nathan from service waited for us to get to him on a Friday AFTER HOURS! He went above and beyond for us.
