This location is the absolute worst McDonalds I've ever been to! There have been a couple instances in the past where we've came thru the drive thru after placing a mobile order, and we get there, and the place is closed. There's maybe one or two inside, but they won't come to the window or soak thru the drive thru. This last incident we placed a mobile order for breakfast as we were out and about, and we get there at 10:18 are stuck in the drive thru until 11 AM when they have us park out front. Wait an additional 15 minutes and they forget the condiments. I understand it can be hectic when short staffed, but there is always an issue at this location! read more

Okay. I waited for quite a long time to complain. This place always, and I mean ALWAYS messes up a part of our orders. Sometimes small like no sauce (that paid extra for) sometimes entirely wrong orders or missing items, which we have always just sucked it up and dealt with if it was one item or we got equal value in wrong order. Well, tonight they gave our pickup order to the car ahead (oopsy but they caught it because that car came back around). Well, they hand us one overfilled bag and close the window. We pull ahead and realize oops no drink, we'll just run in really fast. Go in, wait a few minutes that's fine. Employee turns and goes "What." Explain we didn't get our drink. She turns around and calls "The person from drive thru forgot his drink." Which, if it was already made and ready then one would assume they'll just hand it over. But it took several more minutes as they filled a cup. So sure, we got our drink and the order finally but I don't recall paying extra for attitude. We normally have a nice lady at the window, but guessing she had the night off just felt the need to rant because when you screw up you shouldn't then also be rude. read more

Honestly...we were waiting for a good 15 minutes for our drink. We only ordered a caramel frappe and then a guy came and told me that the machine isn't working (surprise, surprise). The options given to us were shake, macchiato, or latte. After pondering on it, I got the attention of another worker (lady) and told her I'd like a coffee shake. She then gave me attitude and made me feel clueless about ordering a coffee shake. Ended up with a caramel latte, not good. read more

Each time I've visited, the orders have been accurate. Service has been good each time too. Inside the restaurant, the dining area has always been kept clean. The food has tasted alright each visit. Worst McDonald's in Bakersfield, by far. Not kid- friendly and employees can't be bothered to even look you in the eye. Employee was hysterical over the kids playing a bit. They will harass you and your kids if you're being a little too loud. I told my kids to pity people like that because they are probably miserable. McDonald's used to be a place for kids. I came at at 7:30 pm for something sweet and ordered the strawberry crème pies and a McFlurry. I was told they didn't have any strawberry pies only apple. I was going to just order the apple pies but the worker asked if I was willing to wait 10 minutes for the strawberry pies. I'm not a smart man, but I know when I'm getting banboozled. So I hear that the McDonalds is running a $5 promotion and it's on my way back to work and it's easy and so I pull in and order but I quickly find that if you order the McDouble instead of the mcchicken that the price is $6. Okay, I can handle that. $6 and tax and that is still pretty good deal and I'm in line and in a hurry and such and this particular McDonald's figures they can save some money by having one person take orders on both drive thru lanes and take the money too which it's lunchtime and the cars are backed up and it's not really working out so well for anyone except the bean counters I suppose and when I get to the gal to pay she says my total is $7.04. So my $5 meal is now $7.04 which I just couldn't do because I felt like I was getting taken for a ride. I wasn't mean to the gal, and like she says, it's just what pops up on her screen but I decided that I'm just not meant for these fuzzy math days. I'm writing to express my deep disappointment after an upsetting restroom experience around 1:00 PM at your 35102 Merle Haggard Dr., Bakersfield, CA location. I had just eaten and urgently needed to use the restroom due to ongoing stomach issues from a recent gallstone removal surgery. I was in the restroom for approximately 5-8 minutes when an employee abruptly said, "Hello, I need you to get out now so I can clean the restroom," despite it being clear I was still inside. Prior to that, she had already sprayed a heavy amount of chemical cleaner in the sink and surrounding stalls--so much that the fumes made me feel nauseous, dizzy, and on the verge of passing out. Being rushed out in that physical state only worsened the situation. I felt sick, humiliated, and completely disrespected. Closing and cleaning a restroom during a busy time without checking if it's occupied is both unsafe and inconsiderate. I was so concerned for my health that I went to urgent care afterward to be examined, to ensure I hadn't inhaled anything harmful. I'm requesting that your staff be properly retrained in customer service--particularly in handling sensitive health-related issues with empathy and professionalism. This McDonald's (on Merle Haggard) is consistently the worst in Bakersfield. Other McDonald's may have worse customer service or worse food at times but not as consistently as this one. The drive through lines are almost never fast. The customer service is almost never friendly. And the orders in the bag l get are usually about 60% accurate to what is on the receipt. During my most recent visit, I placed an online order using the mcdonald's app so I know the order was exactly what I wanted. When I made it to the speaker, I told them my online order number. And he said "Hold on..." the other drive through processed 3 cars during this time. I repeatedly asked him if we were still waiting or if we should pull forward, to no response. So we pulled forward, once we pulled forward the guy came back on the speaker for the next car behind us and he said "Are you the mobile order?" When we got to the winfow I explained to him what happened and he didn't really care. Then we pulled to the window and got our order with 2 items wrong. So my receipt had a promo code and a survey code. And I went to the McDonald's customer survey portal from the app. I fill out the survey with a poor review and get my validation code to write on my receipt to turn in for a free sandwitch to make up for the wrong order. I go to redeem the Validation code validation code at the same McDonald's. And the manager tells me they don't take these codes anymore. LOL I wonder why. In closing, I don't usually do these negative reviews anymore. As I've gotten older, I don't care to take the time to do this. But this is the McDonald's closest to my house and the last 6 orders we've had here have been so slow and inaccurate so I finally did the code to provide the feedback to get a sandwich remade. And they didn't even give me the damned sandwich! When we want McDonald's we drive farther to another location. If you're reading this, you should really come to this mcdonald's to experience it for yourself and then write your own yelp review. read more

What can you expect from a fast food joint? It's fast, easy, and perhaps mistakes will be made. However, when an issue is brought up to their attention, it is typically fixed (hopefully spit withheld). I've only had one issue at this location in the past. A couple years ago, I ordered an Egg, Sausage, and Cheese McMuffin and it came without the egg. So, I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager. She took my name and phone number and asked me to bring my receipt in on my next visit so that she could give me the correct sandwich. I never did it, but the thought of damage control on her part was enough for me to want to keep returning to this McDonald's. Also, an important note to keep in mind is that this particular location is in an area where mostly blue collar workers go before they head in to work or eat during lunch. It's also right off the freeway, so expect travelers (especially during the holiday season). So, it can get busy at certain hours, but they are good at getting you in and out quickly. A good tip is to order via the mobile app so you can avoid the drive-thru line. read more

I walked in and the restaurant was very clean I walked up to the counter and I tried to place an order for a hamburger. I was told that they could not help me and that I had to go to the kiosk to place an order. I asked them if they could just get me a Burger and fries and I had a $10 bill in my hand. This place is awesome! After reading the reviews to find a fine establishment for an early lunch on my road trip I stumbled across this GEM. I was eager to stop here after hearing that a past customer ordered a 6 piece nugget meal and received two hamburger patty's instead. I had to give this a try so I ordered some chicken nuggets; to my disappointment I received just that. But there is a silver lining... In my 10 piece nugget meal I got 11 nuggets! So awesome! Put in a mobile order a little over an hour before close. The person inside was cleaning up and mopping. Ignored me at the speaker and at the window. If the hours are wrong online then you should probably change them to the correct ones. Very annoying. Either that or the worker really wanted to close super early. We came in on a Friday before Memorial Day weekend. I placed a mobile order (which I highly recommend) and the order arrived within 5 minutes. The female manager was as cool as a cucumber. It seemed like the food line employees were on break except for one lady. The soda machine broke. Our cheeseburgers and nuggets were cold. The bathroom was dirty too. No toilet seat covers and it smelled bad. I appreciate that they are working hard to feed us, while unemployment in CA is so hard, these individuals are busting their buns to work. We were traveling through Bakersfield during the Thanksgiving week and stopped at this location about 8 pm on 11/22/23 and orderd a Cheese burger combo, a qtr pounder combo, and a spicy deluxe cripy chicken sandwich + 1 extra drink. The menu monitors weren't working, instead they had small laminated pictures of the food on the counter. The monitors have been broken for a long time but never fixed according to teh cashier. The store cleaniless was questionable at best. The hand sink faucet in mens restroom was extremely loose (ready to fall off) and the bathroom was filthy. The spicy chicken sandwich was gross. All the pickles, lettuce, onions, and spicy sauce was at the bottom of the box with the sandwich sitting on top of all that mess. The other half of the spicy sauce was on one corner of the lid of the box for sandwich. Will choose the usual In & Out of Chick fil A next time. read more

Was here About 9:15 am This location has 2 drive thru sections. We waited at one for 20 minutes without being acknowledged so we started to just move forward and someone softly spoke on the microphone to take our order. We ordered and still nothing so we went to the window and the lady read us back only half the order. We told her that you could hardly hear anything Over there and that our order was wrong and she rudely said "oh my god" with attitude and then fixed our order and took the card and didn't say a word. Service was poor; staff was not equipped to handle a line of roughly three-four families. Our order was finally placed and still had to wait for 10 more orders to be picked up (as people came in) while our drinks sat on the counter. Their self checkout is broke. Their electronics menu doesn't work. You have to view the menu from your phone or a poster they have at the register.
