Everytime i go through the drive through late at night, they always mess up my orders. I wonder if its just me or do they do it to everyone.

I mean, I don't think I can really ever have a 5 STAR McDonald's Restaurant, but I thought I would share this story. This past weekend I went to McDonald's to try their new Garlic Fries (Dear God I hope they keep them on the menu because it is giving me life!! LOL). We're dining in the restaurant, and might I add this place is one of the fancier McDonalds! After having my garlic fries, my boyfriend and I wanted to have a strawberry milkshake to share. So I get in line and order it and patiently wait for my milkshake. The lady is speaking in spanish and laughing (which I can completely understand) and saying "Oh *insert name here* put Strawberry in the wrong mixer-- the thing isn't working right!". The manager comes in, opens the strawberry syrup part of the machine and walks away as she says its fine. The lady who was saying there was something wrong squirts some of that milkshake into a cup and hands it to me.. I look at it all appalled, because seriously it looked like strawberry milk. Why she thought that was okay? I don't know, but I mean, she even said it was weird. I came back and was like "I don't think I want this anymore.. can I just have a refund?" and the manager comes back and goes "Here's the milkshake it's still fine"... uhhh no. haha. I was half laughing because it was so comedic with their interactions and them trying to force a milkshake that looked like sludge on me, but I got my refund.. This is the worst McDonald's ever. We were told to pull up to the first window so we did. As we were waiting for someone to help us, another car behind us went around to to the second window! The lady waved us over because she knew we were the ones first in line so my BF pulls up to the car that cut, walked out and gave his card to the lady at the window and she served them first! After we finally pull up to the window, she keeps asking us questions about our order, like didn't you already take our order?! Needless to say we were pissed. P.S. I always try to avoid this McDonalds whenever possible because on 2 separate occasions, I found hair in my burger! And not the long strand kind either, the short curly pubic kind! Gross! read more

I've gone several times now by drive thru. It's on my way home from work so I've gone anywhere from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Give yourself at least 10 minutes to get through. It's definitely a much longer wait than most McDonald's. I don't like a long wait in a drive thru but I figured giving it one more chance tonight. I got in line only 2 cars from the ordering speaker. I only stopped for ice cream and their machine was broken. I left with nothing purchased skipping 3 cars and it still took almost 10 minutes. Food is like any other McDonald's. read more

Stopped here after an all day adventure of traveling on a plane, this was about the half way point of our drive home from traveling all day and it was late we thought it would be fast boy did were we wrong... Not only did it take 25 minutes to get to the window to pay but another 10 minutes sitting at the window waiting for our order which they had all out of order because cars were leaving the DT. The workers were unapologetic nor did they smile or act remotely friendly! We occasionally take this route home from the bay but we will find a different place to eat, 7/11 perhaps? Oh and the food on top of it was so so bad we didn't even eat it, gross!!! read more

This Mcdonalds owner must have an issue with being "tight", I've visited here on 3 or 4 occasions. Last night I ordered $20 worth of food to go...first,they only give out 3 dipping sauces with a 20 pc Mcnugget order..xtras are charged for. I got home to find there were NO Napkins..not even one! I had even asked for a parfait for my Daughter..The person at the window said She was Too busy, it would have to be a wait, etc..While inside their Restaurant, I noticed that they don't even have the traditional refill station for sodas..no napkins , so you have to wait, and ask for these things..very inconvienent...just thought I'd give people a "Heads up"...The Other Castro Valley Mcdonalds On Strowbridge Ave is MUCH BETTER, Go There ! read more

Every single time I come here the drive through person asks me what sauce I want for my nuggets and I always ask for ranch. 9 times out of 10 I don't get it. Why ask people if they want sauce if you're not gonna give it to them? My husband ordered the grand Mac which he had recently at another McDonalds so he knows what it was supposed to look and taste like. This was the sloppiest burger I've ever seen. They just basically threw all the ingredients in a box and he had to reassemble it. I ordered a 4 piece kids meal and I specified I wanted only 4 pieces after the guy asked. This McDonalds is irritating. This morning I was asked if I would park my car and wait for order. I said no and why would I park and wait for Oatmeal and a day old parfait and 6:25am with no car behind me when I pulled up and left. I rarely go to fast food restaurants and if I do it's Wendy's. This time I decided to try McDonald's. I was completely shocked at the price they were charging me for my large French fry and 6 piece McNugget - $6.65! At Wendy's the same 6 piece nugget is $1.79, which is 1/2 the price! Even the large French fry at Wendy's is cheaper $1.79 vs. $2.50 at McDonald's. The food even tastes better at Wendy's, so not sure why McDonald's thinks they can charge more. The most inefficient McD operation ive experienced. This store is on my way home from work. I stop by once in a while to get a drink or snack. Drive-through is horrible. Im not kidding it takes them about 5 minutes to process each car. So if you have 3 cars in front of you, you'll get your order in 15 minutes. Going in the store is not much better. Cashier was scatter brained and could not deliver order in timely fashion. I am talking to her and she didnt even look at me....just stared at a new applicant for work. Worst experience ever. Counted 17 employees behind the counter and no one doing anything but standing and.staring at computers. Waited in line for 12 mins and no one.came to take my order. What ever happened to "Welcome to McDonald's. May I take your oder?". Instead a line of 8 people just kept waiting and waiting and growing to 11 people and now the line is out the door and now the lunch rush will approach in 20 mins. One employee finally takes someone's order then walks away. 36 minutes later now it's personal. How long will it actually take to get a freaking big mac. I watched 4 people just walk in grab a burger when their number wal called and walk out in less then 4 mins each. The line that now has 20+ peo0le are all using smart phones and.computer kiosks to order. It took me 48 mins to get 2 big macs, fries and a coke. The food was ice cold. The soda was flat. The experience left me angry and unappreciated. McDonald's has lost a customer. The sad part is they do not even care. They prefer to cater to a young adults, a computer generation who orders on line and pays by credit and never speaks 2 words, no hello, no thanks. They call out numbers grab and go. I use their drive through often on my way to work. Sometimes the drive through can be a little busy but its always worth the wait. The food is always fresh and hot. One day I grabbed a burger on the way to work but it was overly seasoned. I came back 6 hours later after work and they gave me a new burger to make up for it. Great customer service. read more

This McDonald's is nice because of the play area. It has a Basketball hoop and Digital Games kinda like the apps on your smartphone. I was there today and some lady's kid was kicking the ball it was hitting people. The kids Parent didn't seem to care. So when I went and told the employees that work there they didn't seem to care either. Now I know it's McDonald's But Come On! Kick the irresponsible parents out. I got chicken tenders and fries from the drive thru, and the chicken tenders were fine but halfway through the container of fries I found that someone had put a booger in them. If it was possible to give this McDonald's zero stars I would. Not only do they have horrible customer service but they get my order wrong every single time. FYI I was there last Friday 7/25/14 going for some ice cream cone... Ordered it and waited for my order to come out..first of all bad customer service and unwelcoming service from the lady that took our order, no hello or whatsoever...so while waiting there was this slender 5ft 7" white guy went to the ice cream area and got one ice cream cone and he brought the ice cream around the area where they take the drive thru order and payment and then 2 mins later he went over back to food receiving window for drive through area and place the I've cream down, then no words in a few seconds he came over the ice cream machine and opens the top lid and wiped the ice cream on the side so the ice cream will fall back in and then threw away the cone!!! I'm like WTF!!!!!!! There are kids ordering some ice cream and I would not let my kid or myself eat that. The minute you take a food out and walked in the back room not knowing what you did in the back and came back with it and put it back is a big health risk! They for sure don't clean the top lid of that cream machine since it looks dirty and dusty and for him to wipe that ice cream back there is fucking gross! The mom who was waiting for food it seen it too she even said it's so unsanitary! I spoke to the manager and I told her I want a refund for my ice cream and I told her what happened and she said "it's okay!" I said NO,it's not okay! It's unhygienic and unsafe! The drive thru line was long, so decided to walk in. Big mistake. Placing the order went fast, getting it was a different story. I waited behind three people that appeared to have been waiting quite awhile. After standing there myself it became clear that not only did drive thru get priority but it seemed they didn't work on any in-store orders until no cars were in line which means all the cars in line when arrived had been served and we had to wait while new cars arrived and were served. Being hungry and just getting off work. I live just a few blocks away from this location and stop by occasionally. I've never been there at that hour but have always seen the drive through lights on so thought I'd give it a try. The lights were all on. The menu boards were lit etc. So I waited at the speaker. Sat there a few minutes and finally decided to pull up to the window. Sometimes they don't hear you there. As I got there two employees saw me and just kind of ignored me. Finally one of them. a female. yelled out "We're closed" and gave slash the throat gesture. I fully understand being closed and ready to go home. After all, I just got off work myself. went in the drive thru at 10pm tonight with one car in front of me. was able to place my order and also pay for my order quickly since i was just the second car in line and all i ordered was a large dr. pepper with light ice. then continued to sit in front of the first car at the second window waiting for their order to be completed in order to get my drink. waited so long that i put my parking brake on and just sat in park.. the lady in front of me got a coffee and then bag of food and proceeded to leave. i drove up to the window and proceeded to wait while unable to see anyone thru the open window working. 5 minutes later i see and hear a lady putting food together for i assume the next order. (all i ordered was a large soda) another 3 minutes later and she finally starts my drink, and walks away. and another 3 minutes later comes up to the window with i assume the next car's order, and hands me my drink. no "hi", no "sorry for the wait" and also no "thanks", just a blank stare with her hand out the window holding my cup. so i didn't bother saying thanks either. I didn't expect an empty drive thru to take 12 minutes for a single soda so i didn't taste my drink before driving away. now that i'm at my destination, i taste my drink to see she gave me a diet coke.. when i ordered dr. pepper. a single item order, and 12 minutes later with the wrong order. fuck this mc donalds. read more

I frequent this McDonald's on a very regular basis. I always get their hazelnut iced coffee, which is delicious! Usually I have to check the coffee at other McDonald's to make sure they didn't make it disgustingly sweet. I have only had that happen once at this McDonald's. Deja is so sweet and there is this new guy (young, skinny, white) I wish I knew his name because he has wonderful customer service skills. He is always friendly and chipper even at 9:00 in the morning. Definitely management material. If I had to make a complaint it would be about Tre' (sorry man). I have never seen an employee move so slow in my life! One day the drive through was super busy, and there was a long line inside also, the ladies were busting their butts off, and he wasn't even getting drinks. I almost wanted to jump back there and help or at least say, hey man can you fill the coffee for that drive through order, while you are standing there?? I know it sounds harsh but, I spent 10 years as a server and I know how these things go. As a side note, I love that you guys have wireless, but, I would love it if you actually had reachable outlets.
