Usially use the driveup with no problems, but due to the weather decided to call doordash and spend an extra 7-10 bucks in the name of safety. Got an order, but it just didn't feel right when I was handed the bag. Turns out 1 - received no drink (ordered a meal!) and McGriddles instead of a McMuffin, and no cinnamon roll! They open at 530 am. It was 6 am 8/10/21 when I arrived at the restaurant. Sat in the drive through for 15 minutes only to pull around and see the only employee working lounging in the dining area on their phone. Horrible! Of course it's clean.... it's brand new. The service and food is just bad. Was excited that a new MCDonalds was opening close to me because the one in Waxhaw is by far the worst..... must be run by the same people because this one is as bad. I ask for a large Big Mac meal and get a regular drink, when I mention that I asked for large I'm told I paid for a regular (even though the receipt says large). Then- the fries are cold so I have to go in and wait for several minutes while they make new. I went through drive through because I was in a hurry. Super slow. On 3 occasions I have waited over 15 at drive through with no one in front of me. The last time was 22 mins for just plain old cheeseburgers. But at least they were thrown together and smushed. It helped that they were barely Luke warm as well. Not sure how that took 22 mins. Inside is messy and you have to order on a kiosk instead of a person. It's sad sitting in there watching chic fil a across the street. Food is slow, cold and not great. Don't expect napkins or straws in your bag. Go to this place if you have plenty of gas to wait in a two car line. Terrible read more

Clearly the manager at this McDonald's CANNOT tell time. I pull up to the McDonald's at 10:30 p.m. I get out and try to enter the restaurant. The door is locked. I immediately check the time to make sure that I haven't missed the closing time for the dining room. It says "10:30 p.m.". I check the posted hours of operation including the dining room hours. Clearly, it states that the dining room closes at 11:00 p.m. I knock on the door. The manager infinite's me. So I keep knocking until she comes to the door. She yells: "We're closed!!" I responded: "Not according to your posted hours of operation!!" She walks off. THIS IS PISS POOR!! If you're going to post hours of operation, then your business ought to operate during those specified times!! This is dishonest and is a sign that your restaurant is run by and operated by persons with little to no integrity. I don't care if they wanted to go home early. I also don't care if they couldn't fully staff the evening shift. That's NEVER your clientele's issue. That's your management's issue. And it's clear to me that you have employed subpar and substandard management to run your restaurant. read more

I spent 28 minutes stuck in their line. I couldn't back up or get out and they literally stopped taking orders for 11 minutes. Then when I finally get through, they tell me to pull ahead as they were waiting for my Big Mac. I paid with a CC. They gave me no receipt. I finally got my order and my Big Mac only had one patty and the 3rd slice of bread was on the bottom laying against the 2nd piece of bread with nothing else!!! I drove through the drive through ordered 2 Big Macs one with large meal, 10 piece chicken nugget large meal with sauces and a two hamburger meal. In my bag there was only 1 Big Mac, 2 hamburgers and two fried. How am I supposed to feed a family of four with that. This was at the Waverly location and I live all the way in Weddington. When I tried to get their attention the girl rolled her eyes at me. Finally the guy opened the window and told me they were closed. Just looked up hours and they are supposed to be open until 11. I'm very disappointed in this McDonald's. Regardless of how long or short the drive thru line is there is always a long wait for your food - which may or may not be correct. This is the slowest restaurant I've ever been to, maybe in my whole life. I used to work in waverly, and I enjoy McDonald's coffee (I order a large iced coffee black, NO cream, NO sugar. I specifically state that. After waiting five minutes in line, a cashier finally appears, and takes my order. I'm in the hospitality business, and I obviously understand things can get slow. But every time (perhaps 6 times), I wait for the cashier, then I wait for always at least five minutes for someone to put ice in a cup, and fill it up. I mean.... what?! Get it together. The straw the broke the camels back was my last (and final) time at this location. After waiting my five minutes, someone presents me with a large coffee that was literally white. Like I had ordered a large milk. Then I saw her dump it out and use the same cup. I'd rather be tired than go to this god forsaken place. read more

After another 10 minutes of waiting in a parking spot without still not being served. I proceed inside to explain the situation and get a refund. I went into this location for a double cheeseburger meal. I received a cold single cheeseburger. I went back in and asked for a hot double cheeseburger with melted cheese. I specifically asked for this two or three times. High maintenance, I know. I was then handed a double cheeseburger Luke warm with cold cheese. At this point I asked for the manager, who had escaped to her office when I came in (the kitchen is a wide open view). "Rachel" came out and told me she cooks my burger herself. Knowing this wasn't true due to the open kitchen design, I called Her put on sitting in her office. She stated when she heard I had a problem she cooked it herself. I responded that that wasn't true, and if she knew there was a problem she should've addressed me. She stated that she wasn't lying and didn't want an argument, and walked away. Also make sure to ask for a receipt because they will charge you extra so they can get a free meal with your money. This place needs to be shut down immediately, the customer service is horrible. This is the worst mcdonalds I've ever been to. I work in the area so I have given them multiple chances to improve. Even with the smallest order, and no one in the drive through, I found myself on multiple occasions having to wait more than 10 minutes for food - with no one else in the drive through but myself. Today was even more annoying, because I simply ordered a mango pineapple smoothie on my 10 minute break. I was told to pull forward to the last window for my smoothie and watched about 3 cars behind me pull into the drive through, and receive their whole meal, while I sat and waited on a smoothie going on FIFTEEN minutes when I was originally the only person in line. After seeing others get their food, I backed up to 2nd window ( theres three at this one) assuming they forgot about my simple order for a smoothie. By now my break is over and I realize my smoothie taste like nothing but blended ice. No mango pineapple, no flavor at all, just blended ice. I get this smoothie often so I know what it should taste like. I also worked at Starbucks and know what something tastes like when you use too much ice. I hand it back and told them it tasted pretty much like water, just blended ice, and politely asked for them to remake it DESPITE me waiting so long for it already. I ended up waiting again for 10 minutes, being the only one in the drive through, assuming they forgot about me again, also seeing that there was barely a line inside. They finally gave me the smoothie after being there nearly 20 minutes in total, hot as HELL in my car with the sun directly on me, to say " We double blended it for you" as if that would fix the fact that it taste like blended ice, no flavor. Common sense, would say to make sure your using the right juice/ice ratio. As expected, it tasted the same way. And my break was long over so I left , but I will be going back for it to be made properly for the third time. read more

I was highly disappointed with my TERRIBLE recent visit to this store on Friday March 29, 2019 around 8pm. I went with intentions to place a drive-thru order so that I would not have to bring my young children out of the car and into the cold temps. Well, I was wrong! The drive-thru staff ignored me after I waited several minutes to be waited on. I spoke into the speaker by saying "hello, can someone take my order!" No response. I then blew my horn and again no response. I proceeded to drive around to a window to place my order and no one came to the window. Begrudgingly, I got out of my vehicle into the cold to go inside with my young children. I asked if the speaker was broken because I was ignored and no one took my order and the cashier acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about. The other staff members did not speak by offering a simple greeting after looking at me nor offer an apology. That particular weekend staff obviously does not understand nor capable of adhering to the high standards of providing a great customer service experience to all their customers as McDonalds has been traditionally known for. read more
