Absolutely terrible service. The mexican operation has yet to learn CS. I tried to order a senior coffee, the blond mexican manager said only small. I paid for that size, and it was watered down coffee. Stood at the counter for 10 minutes and got ignored. No refills. No wonder there was no one in the dining room. Not sure why this McDonald's has a low rating because it was great. The place was clean and the service was good. The food came out on time and everything tasted fresh. One of the best McDonald's I've been to! Had it twice in two days as it was very close to my hotel and I was very satisfied with my meal! The workers were especially nice to me and help me out when I was trying to get in and out of the restaurant with my Wheelchair! Five out for my spicy McChicken with tomato and large fry!! read more

I'm not sure what I witnessed tonight at the peak of Christmas season as I waited 20 mins inside for an order. First of all they seem to completely prioritize drive thru orders over walk up I stood there and watched several kitchen Employees texting away as we are waiting, then continuing to touch the food. I see employees moving like snails some seem to be clearly under influence. But worst of all is watched their own Manager walk into the kitchen with his pullover covered in white pet hair, then yanked it off whipping hair all over the food. It would be nice to visit a small town, and not see the golden arches, but in this case it was like comforts of home. Just before we arrived in Durango I learned of one of the local restaurants having problems with the local authorities about closing their doors to inside dining. Do we still go? Of course we do. So we did. When we arrived in Durango it was apparent that the whole town was in lockdown. Strict Covid restrictions. Restaurants were open until 8 with takeout only. This lockdown kinda ruined our trip in a way that most everything was closed. It looked like a ghost town. BUT McDonald's is always open. Tried and True. Drive thru was the only way to get your food, which was fine for us, as our hotel was right next door. I decided that I would have some McDonald's after so many years away. Boy oh boy, what a mistake. I went at dinner rush and had to wait for the kitchen to fulfill my order. I figured that was a sure sign I would receive cooked to order food. No such luck. Every thing in my order was cold: the sandwiches, the fries, and the soda. They literally took precooked meat, cold from the AC in the building, slapped some cold cheese on it and made me wait 10 minutes before handing it off to me. The more unfortunate outcome of this transaction is that this McDonald's will not change its output. It will always make money and never correct their lackluster approach to preparing their products. This franchise had enough money to close down last year and remodel just to return and be consistent in their inability to make hot food. Buyer beware. You're going to be disappointed. read more

I got chicken nuggets and fries and it tasted like any other McDonald's! However, the service was incredibly slow and the drive through line often goes into the road so even if you want to eat in you have to wait in that incredibly long line. I would think with more staff it would be greatly improved. read more

Love the design that looks like a dimmed out Wells Fargo, the grey tones and 3 foot rock wall work perfectly as a nice view while I eat and a great way to work off calories afterwards . My food never fails to leave out all the moisture as the employees understand that watered down tea is the best source , management makes great eye contact but they move kinda slow after staring at you for 15 minutes , love the view of the dirt parking lot across the way too! In three months I've been to McDonald's, Durango four times. Three of those took :20-:30 from ordering to receiving my take-away order. Today was quick but when I asked for a handful of hot picante sauces, I was told that I already had a few in the bag (along with 8 ketchups I didn't ask for) and I could only have two more. My order included six burritos for four of us and we initially received a total four packets but six after I got my extra. I explained to the woman that the hot picante is the reason I drove down the mountain for breakfast at McDonalds which is when she told me that I already had a few in the bag. Middle aged woman, gray hair half way down her back and when I asked for her name, she turned around and walked away. When I sipped my coffee on my way home, I was glad that I didn't receive grief when I ordered five shots of cream in my large coffee but also wasn't thrilled at paying $.79/half slice of cheese on the two sausage and egg biscuits that I ordered for when I only get one slice of cheese on my quarter pounder with cheese instead of two, they do not deduct $.79 indicating that there's no quid pro quo when holding back on an item I know it's difficult to find and hire good help but I had an issue with McDonald's, Pagosa two years prior (same family owns both stores) and because I had my dog, I went through the drive through and ate in the parking lot. After finishing my large Coke that was all ice, I went back in to refill my Coke and the pretentious manager shoed me away because I hadn't purchased my Coke inside. I showed him my receipt and he said that refills weren't available when purchased at the drive through. His female assistant backed him up (like her counterpart, she was late 20's or early 30's and equally as rude (she subsequently got transferred to Durango and seemed a little more pleasant indicating that maybe the gay guy that was her counterpart was the rude one and she was a product of her environment). Annoyed but still wanting more Coke, I went to my car, put my dog's "SERVICE DOG" vest on and went back in the store where the male manager quickly told me that "DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED" in the same rude manner but loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear. I calmly stated that she was a service dog and waved my epipen as I went to the counter and ordered a small Coke. This was the first time during our two exchanges where I offered up a dirty look to the young man. The place was crowded and very busy but I brought in my computer and in spite of my hurried schedule returning to Durango, I spent the next six hours completing paperwork and drinking 11 glasses of Coke. I intended to write to the owners about this experience but I should not have had to. I was busy having closed on four Durango homes that week but I did recognize the female asst. mgr when she was transferred to the Durango Store and seemingly nicer. Finally, today trying to scratch up some hot picante's, I was reminded of my Pagosa experience and felt the need to author this review. The same woman denied extra sauce to a gentleman and his large family of six stating that [Corporate/Distribution put strict quota's on their sauces and they would run out]. It was between her transaction with his and my order that I noticed that if I had wanted ketchup, I could have helped myself to about 100 packets off the self-serve counter and quite frankly, I was tempted to take them all. MCDONALD'S MANAGEMENT: Your hot picante sauce is the absolute best I've ever had. Between my request for more and hearing the gentleman that proceeded me, I would think that - that is the ultimate form of flattery. I cannot purchase McDonald's sauces in the grocery otherwise I would (like Chick-fil-a, the best restaurant chain in the world and one that has never denied me a few extra sauces) and it seems to me that a providing extra sauce, a few at a time, might complete an eating experience for a customer. In hindsight, I wish I told the gentleman before me to send up his kids, one at a time to request more sauce. I simply asked for a manager who was extremely kind but I kid you not, although I'm not proud to admit that my two boys were a little hungover - but the burrito and hot picante sauce is the only reason I ventured off of the mountain to get us breakfast. The only reason I mentioned the Pagosa manager was gay was to better identify him because like the employee at the Durango store, I wasn't able to get the managers name as he mumbled it while walking away from me in a dismissive manner. One packet picante was less than 1/2 TBSP. I wish Durango had a Chick-fil-a and a Chipotle. I'm uncertain if I've ever given a restaurant a one star for after all, my order didn't take 20-30 minutes like it has in the past and the manager that gave me a half dozen picante sauces was very nice but take that all with a grain of salt --- something else that's VERY plentiful at McDonald's. When we arrived, we politely asked for another second to decide what we wanted to eat and after this, the woman did not answer us for 10 MINUTES! We were constantly saying hello and if she was there. Manager at this location is horrible!! Employees are kids complaining and messing up the food orders. Drive through ppl are so rude "is that all", "is that it", who answers that way. Worthless! Picked up some food and took it back to the hotel. Order was wrong. I called to talk to someone and got no answer in the three attempt that I made. How hard is it to put food in the proper containers and hand it out. They also messed up the two orders in front of ours, so I checked the packaging. Had the right packaging, but wrong items inside. There is a employee named Kathy that is an absolute gem to this location!! She greeted everyone with a pleasant greeting and a bright smile ! It makes you feel welcome ! Was it busy?! Of course, it was July 4th and for some reason McDonalds was hoppin'! They worked hard to move the inside line (can't talk about the drive thru) and really did their best. My salad was good, as fresh as can be expected for McDonalds. No one in my group complained, well except for someone that ordered the BBQ hamburger? Sick.
