On Sunday, when we checked in for our reservation, I was impressed -- the hostess remembered us by name, which says a lot considering how many guests come through the restaurant. We were seated, and soon after we were greeted by Eleanor, our server. She was warm, attentive, and never made us feel pressured, which was a huge improvement from a previous visit. She answered every question I had, including how they cook a medium‑rare steak (every chef has their own interpretation, lol). She also gave an honest answer when I asked whether the vegetables used at dinner come from their greenhouse. The service felt genuine, and the food was excellent -- a much better experience than my last review. This visit was absolutely worth the return. Kudos to Eleanor and the Kitchen at The Mission.

He had checked in several times (I eat really slow these days and it was a lot of food) and the last time offered to bring me a box. I was ready to order dessert, but after a full ten minutes of an invisible waiter, I went to the hostess and offered to pay. She said she would send my waiter to my table. So, back to my table I went and waited some more. By the time he arrived, I was very unhappy. I had planned on coffee and dessert. But ended up going to the gas station next door and picking up some canned espresso and cream. Walking to my car, was an olfactory assault. If you've ever driven past Harris Ranch and the miles of cows standing under the shade structures in their own feces, you have a mild sense of what I experienced. But this was so much worse.
