    Quarter Pounder with Cheese Deluxe

We went to the Waialae Ave, McDonald's because they had a promotion on the smoky bacon sandwich, if you purchase the sandwich you get a free small French fries and a drink. And another coupon if you buy a smoky bacon sandwich you get a free Kit Kat shake this is the 2nd time we been there and still haven't gotten to try the smoky bacon sandwiched this cashier was very uncaring and didn't want to help in anyway, so we left. The first time we went we were told they ran out of sauce, so we told her don't need the sauce just give us the sandwich without the sauce. Then we were told they didn't have lettuce and tomato, so they couldn't make the smoky bacon sandwich , at least this counter person was more helpful in trying to replace another meal, since they were out of the smoky bacon sandwiches. Then we went another time and no sauce again, but this time they said they will give us a quarter pounder with lettuce and tomato in place of the smoky bacon sandwich, but no bacon? I don't understand why they have a promotion and don't have the necessary ingredients to make the sandwich? There were customers in front of us asking to order and was told they are all out? They still have self service drink counter as with most other places they discontinued the fountain counter and you need to go up for a refill. Lots of parking must be everyone figured out they are not well stocked with promotional items or maybe with everything. Dining area was clean

Picked up a Disney 100 Happy Meal here. Quick and fast service here. No lines. I went indoors and the place was clean and orderly. My order was taken immediately and I received my order in less than 3 minutes! This location still had the Disney 100 figurines available at @11 am. on 11/08/23. They graciously upsized my drink for no extra charge when I asked. The food was hot and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and service at this location.

Doing errands within the area and felt hungry for a sudden? A quick eats can solve your solution and McDonald's will be one of the option! Parking is not a lot so at times it can be challenging. Customer service is a hit or miss always - depends who and how great or bad that person's day at the counter. Service is pretty good and every time we come here the staffs are not that grouchy. Food is what it is - fast food! Less to no nutrients but sometimes conveniency is the key to get that errands done asap. There are plenty of chairs and tables - pretty casual. And if you're lucky sometimes you will find yourself alone dining in here. Mahalo for reading & happy juandering fellow yeeps!

This is my go to McDonald's the morning crew is the bomb, they know my voice over the speaker. I happen to place a order thru drive thru and this is what I got. I know burgers then to be greasy but this greasy. Look at my bag by the time i drove home.

CODY visited the Waialae avenue location CODY ordered Filet O Fish, fries, and soda CODY food was tasty, The restaurant was crowded CODY counter person was friendly, The minimal staff was overwhelmed CODY wait for food was a bit long CODY noticed the staff left the bathroom door open, The stench was pungent CODY dining area, The tables weren't wiped, The trash bins overflowing CODY noticed a parade of homeless people helping themselves to what they could find in the trash and what they could drink for free from the soft drink dispenser CODY will return, but may only use drive thru.

Fries were also golden brown and super crispy--didn't even need sauce or ketchup. We also picked up a couple guava cheesecakes and pumpkin crunch, which didn't disappoint. We came on a Saturday and there were a few people in front of us, but the food came out super fast. We also witnessed the new mural being painted across their wall, which is a work of art in itself. I used to come to this one all the time back in the 1980s. I only had fond memories. When we walked in, it had the same old musty smell like the Niu Valley Jack In The Box. Soda area was pretty dirty with lots of spilled soda all over and no employees bother to wipe it down. The Jumbo Jack was SO SMALL!! Barely anything in it!! They also didn't have ketchup!! How odd is that to not have ketchup? Some customer lost his temper and started yelling at the workers and eventually got into it with the manager. He claimed he was waiting for an hour for his food, which I highly doubt, but it was quite entertaining hearing him scream his head off at the manager. "I don't want my food now because you guys will probably spit in it!" He kept saying that over and over. It was pretty funny. Anyway, the place was just as smelly and dirty as the Niu Valley location, and the Jumbo Jack wasn't very "jumbo"! Hahaha!! I doubt we will return to any Jack In The Box establishments because so far 2 out of 2 were lousy!! I don't see much of a future for Jack In The Box. Sorry.

She's always working the night shift and has such a great attitude, which honestly stands out even more considering there are only TWO people running the entire place. She let us know upfront that there would be a bit of a wait, which we appreciated, and we still ordered because it's one of the only spots open late. It seems like management knows they're open later than other fast food places and still only staffs the bare minimum... which feels unfair to the employees. Eliza was taking orders, making food, and handling everything with patience and positivity. When we left, there was a long line of at least 8 cars -- all for just two workers to handle. That's kind of crazy. This isn't a complaint about the staff at all -- they're doing an amazing job. If anything, it's a call for management to either hire more people for the night shift or pay these workers more. They're clearly working extremely hard and deserve better support.

I was in the area with a couple of friends, who wanted to go to dinner. I suggested Vietnamese since there was a handful in the immediate area but one said let's go to the new burger joint. I'm like okay. We arrived here on a recent weekend in June 2026. The place wasn't too crowded and it was kind of buzzing. The place was as I remember it as a ramen place back in the early 2000's, but has been remodeled to serve the burger and fries loving community here in Kaimuki. We took our time and enjoyed the ambiance. It was a nice and simple experience here. If you want the alternative to the familiar, consider coming to Boarded Up by Chubby's Burgers in Kaimuki. While the ambiance could be a little better, the food was a hit and delicious at the same time. It was nostalgic to be in this place since it's been a while since I was here when it used to be a ramen place before it became a burger joint in Kaimuki. My friends and I decided to dine in and enjoy the evening. We all ordered a burger combo and it came with fries and a drink, the normal tradition of fast food. I ended up getting the Carolina onion burger with double patties and the spicy garlic fries. The tab was over $20 but for the first time, it was worth it for sure. It can get pricey for burgers and fries, but if you love double patty burgers, you're going to love having one here at Boarded Up by Chubby's burgers Kaimuki. My friends and I spent about 1 1/2 hours here eating and chilling afterwards. I ended up grabbing a milkshake to go, which was almost $10. The end result was delicious and very calorie dense. It was definitely a cheat meal and to celebrate a friend's birthday. The overall experience here at Boarded Up by Chubby's burger's Kaimuki was very good and quite the nostalgic piece because I've been here before Boarded Up took over the space and remodeled it as their own. The restaurant was very small as I remember it, boasting a bunch of tables in a limited space. The vibe was okay but the food was good. The service was quite good and friendly. They make everything made to order so you'd have to wait a good amount of time before you can eat. The restaurant itself is clean and easy to get to. The milkshake at the end was delicious as an after dinner drink to cap off a birthday celebration. For the most part though, having this new burger joint was good and a welcomed addition into the Kaimuki business ohana. If you are ever looking for an authentic alternative to the usual suspects and in the Kaimuki area, consider coming to this heavenly place where you can get in your burger fix for a reasonable price. While these burgers can be a bit pricey, you can be sure they are good and delicious which is the ideal set up. Everything is good here and definitely worth a try and sample. Make Kaimuki your destination here on Oahu and come on over to taste the delicious difference. The Carolina onion burger is pretty amazing and hope you will try that too. Ask for extra onions. Boarded Up by Chubby's Burgers is located in the Kaimuki district of Honolulu, Hi. It's physically located at 1108 12th Avenue next to the gas station on Harding Avenue. It's a stand alone building. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's a paid municipal lot right adjacent to the restaurant for the area's businesses. Quite nice for sure or you can find residential street parking nearby where you can find it. If you are like me, a few bus routes stop near the area. Namely, routes 1, 1L, 14, and 7. The popular bus stops runs along Koko Head Avenue and Waialae Avenues. Then there's always Uber and Lyft that can be the one that will get you here to where you need to be. And so, come here and come hungry. It's one of the best hidden gems in Kaimuki town. 5.0 stars for the overall experience even tho the ambiance is okay. Support local! A+

(Tookout 04/22/26 WE @ 7:00pm): No raised fingers given at this chicken coop!…read more In my quest to continue exploring the various cuisine scenes as well as other businesses throughout O'ahu's Windward side, specifically the neighborhood of Hawaii Kai (southeast shore of the island), I ventured into Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers as my first time to ever try their food after I've seen them all over the place on the Mainland. I was always down for a juicy succulent piece of fried chicken however it was fed to me. It wasn't the healthiest way to eat chicken, but things fried just tasted better, correct!? Founded in 1996 on the campus of LSU by Todd Graves and named after a friend's Labrador Retriever (Raising Cane), his arduous dream that began in college has since grown into one of the fastest grown restaurant brands in the U.S. Would I raise a thumb's up instead of a middle finger to their tender chicken!? PURCHASE(S) 3pc Chicken Fingers Sandwich ($8.79): This messy two-hander was slipping and sliding all over the place as I tried to keep it together (I failed). Three crispy crunchy thick pieces of chicken between a pillowy soft sweet bun with a smear of Cane sauce and a hint of lettuce, this was a lovely introduction to this brand's food, and I now understood the hype that surrounded it. Aesthetics aside, you could've easily eaten this as fingers and a side of bread, but this large sandwich did the job. My only wish was that it was spicy and came with pickle chips, but it was still ono! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=sod8F8j7AIUDoK3mQptIUw The Box Combo - 4pc Chicken Fingers, Crinkle-Cut Fries, Texas Toast, Coleslaw, Cane Sauce, 22floz Drink ($12.79): Because of my sandwich, I was able to split this meal into two! Loaded with a little bit of everything, the chicken was just as yummy as my sandwich, there were plenty of spud sticks with a light dusting of seasoning, the toast was a revelation all on its own and would easily order a few more as a snack, the coleslaw lacked flavor (I put some on my sandwich instead), the Cane sauce add a touch of zing but wished it was spicy, and the sweet tea was like I was transported to the South it was so damn good and probably loaded with a ton of sugar. A heck of a meal at a deal! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=f5GUo39r6DcCdVAVoN-ArA SERVICE I was greeted by a young woman at the front counter where I immediately placed my order, received my cup to fill with my fountain drink of choice, and within five minutes my name was called as we caught each other's eyes while I waited nearby. Everything was good - mahalo! PARKING (FREE; N/A this instance): Located in the outdoor Hawaii Kai Towne Center, there were plenty of spots although I decided to do the 25-minute one-way walk for exercise - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A standard quick-service restaurant layout with a central order counter, a fountain drink machine off to the side, plenty of dining spots in a spacious room, and minimal decorations with some interesting elements such as these ceiling disco balls https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=Ruk3zzf-dWb0pTPXWIWt6Q (I didn't know if they actually worked). Plenty of natural lighting came in through the front doors and surrounding windows while recessed electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were no TVs while pop music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I really enjoyed the food at Hawaii Kai's Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers location as my first experience with this brand. High marks for all of the food (however... please add some spice to the chicken seasoning and sauce, and more flavor to the coleslaw), the portions were great, the prices were very reasonable, and the service straightforward. The menu was extremely limited, but the same could be said with In-N-Out. I wished there were some Hawaii-specific menu items. Sure, they were a fast-food chain restaurant, but they started as a local small mom & pop business at one time. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $23.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Started by award-winning chef and restauranteur Kelvin Ro in 2002, this popular restaurant is known for its "grab-and-go" market with bakery and deli; and a grill serving local-style plate lunches and burgers. It offers a mix of fresh, local Hawaiian food with casual, quick-service atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists for its fresh, reasonably priced meals and baked goods. The grab-and-go offerings include gourmet deli, house-roasted meats, entrees, salads, sandwiches, soups, and desserts. Non-food merchandise includes creative note cards and freshly made lei. (their lei appear pricy). They also collaborate with other companies to offer taro chips and ice cream. The bakery's popular items include its blueberry cream cheese scones, lemon crunch cake, and Diamond Head torte. The grill has a takeout window and offers upscale local Hawaiian fare with charbroiled and grill services. The items we've tried are: * Blueberry cream cheese scones. Best scones I've ever had! Huge, flaky, moist tender with pockets of solid cream cheese and juicy blueberries make this a popular item! * Lemon crunch cake. The original layered lemon cream cake with toffee bits, with the rumor being a former employee used the same or similar recipe at Aiea Bowl. I still say that this cake at Diamond Head Bakery has more whipped cream, lemon cream, and toffee bits than at Aiea Bowl. * Teri chicken plate. Marinated chicken thighs and glazed with a sweetened Japanese style teri sauce and served with white or brown rice. Nice teri flavor enjoyed by locals, although not too familiar with visitors. Will try the char siu chicken sandwich or chicken plate next time, as it is not normally offered by plate lunch places. Both the grab-n-go and grill sections get busy with customers, and staff are knowledgeable about their items to answer questions produce efficient and quick service. Many appear to be long-time staff. No fancy ambiance, as space is used to display their merchandise for fast turnover. Owner Kelvin Ro has supported the University of HI's Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head through monetary pledges in providing training to students in culinary arts. Hours of operation are 7:30a to 8p daily; award-winning breakfast items made to order (pancakes, fluffy omelets, roasted pork hash, loco moco) every Sat/Sun from 7:30a to 10:30a. Free private parking available fronting the front entrance, although cars may have some difficulty going in and out of the spaces due to congestion during peak hours. Diamond Head Market & Grill offers a mix of fresh, local Hawaiian food with a casual, quick service atmosphere, popular with both locals and tourists with its reasonable price meals and baked goods!
