This USED to be our stopping place between SD and LA. After this experience, no more. Morning stop: Got order to-go. Ordered Pancakes and milk for my infant son. When we were on the road, we discovered the milk was out of code. We called to inform them they were giving out bad milk. They said thanks for letting them know and offered to replace it. Evening stop on the way home: We returned the milk for exchange and they made a big deal about it being hot. It was in the car all day while we were at "the park" and it was already bad anyway. At least we had the unused product and receipt. in addition, the ice dispenser was covered with a black mold. We extracted a sample and showed an employee. They didn't put up a sign or send anyone out immediately to remedy the hazard. Customers continued to draw ice. We tried to warn a few. We never saw anyone come out to clean while we ate our food. If something that visible is covered in mold, hate to see what I can't see. Had to make a nausea stop on the remaining drive home. Not sure if from food or sheer disgust. We will be finding another stop for future trips. read more

Well what can I say. We decided to stop because my son decided that he needed to use the restroom. So this is how we ended up here. Close to the freeway. Unfortunately there bathrooms are horrible. Toilet paper everywhere. Toilet not flushing and only one stall worked. Unbelievable, I believe since they are so close to the freeway exit the would assume that it would be I'm their best interest to have clean and both stalls functioning. Luckily we just came for a quick bite and hopefully we will not need to come back here again. Can't complain about the food. Come on now it's a McDonald. Food was warm when we received it. read more

So we used to go here after school to wait for our parent's to pick us up in highschool. I've been through a lot with this particular establishment, history runs deep lol. so before us, they had no loitering signs. We were kicked out after 20minutes once they got the sign up, specifically placed where we sat every day. Ordering food out of obligation is never good. I've seen fights in the parking lot, new managers and employees like nobody wants to stay here. I hate eating Mcdonalds. I refuse to ever eat more than a single fry from them anytime anybody orders them. they just taste like pure salt that would better suite getting ice off your driveway. the Mc Chicken is the only thing worth ordering, or maybe one of the sundays, they're burgers taste like cardboard greased up and placed on the worst tasting toppings as if they took the rejected ones from all the other fast food chains. Everytime I go there, I ask myself why I got 2 mc chickens and a coke, and thats because some days you just feel like crap, eat like crap and then crap out that crap. avoid this place at all costs. its a very bad cycle that we have created. read more

Woman gives me the wrong order and I don't realize it's wrong till I'm halfway home because one of my kids doesn't have a meal. I'm so pleased to be the first to review this McDonald's. I may never return...not 'cause the food wasn't okay, but because it was just some random place to use the bathroom and it was just there when I needed it. First, I have to tell you that I have this "thing"...if I use an establishment's bathroom, I feel obligated to express my gratitude with some degree of patronage. A kind of fast food bathroom karma. I ordered a filet-o-fish. Secondly, you need to know that it was about 10:30pm or so and there were only two customers in the area where you order, me and some lady. You also need to know that I'm kind of unique looking...nice I think, but not like anyone you've probably ever seen or will see again. Now, after patiently waiting for a couple of minutes, the guy I gave my order to (we'll call him "10-second Tom") looks at me and says "You ready?". In my head I'm thinking "Ready?! Ready for what? Ready to rumble? Ready to take the filet-o-fish I ordered 2 minutes ago? Uh, yeah!", but I just looked at him kinda dumbfounded 'cause I realized he meant, am I ready to order as if he had never laid eyes on me before. I am after all the unique-looking guy remember? I am so done with this place. I sometimes stop here to get breakfast on my way to work. Usually order the Deluxe Breakfast. Everytime I go there, I get jacked on condiments. Once it was syrup, another time it was butter, and today, it was jelly, even after asking the rather lethargic cashier to make sure that I had syrup, butter and jelly. He replied that he needed to get me some butter. Really? If I hadn't asked I would have gotten jacked on that too? I got to work, and no jelly for the muffin. Yes, I could have sat there and checked my order, to make sure I had everything, but I shouldn't have to. What is so hard about putting necessary condiments in the bag??? I have never had such a bad experience. The amount of unprofessionalism they provided with their service today makes me never want to eat here again. Our friends told us about the McDonald's app so we were very excited to have coupons, they are supposed to scan it and the employee refused to she tried to manually do it and we ended up having her manager come out and he was completely rude. I speak very little Spanish but as we were driving off I heard "puta" which everyone knows what that means. I can't believe the rudeness and do not understand how people with this bad of customer service get hired I ordered at 11:04 and due to corona virus I can not go inside because of medical reasons. And they wouldn't let me do 3 separate orders. If I could give this location no stars I would and I think that it only has two stars for a reason. Therefore I think upper management needs to reevaluate or train their employees, so they don't loose more service than just myself and family. read more

This McDonald's had good service. They had a line of customers. I used the computer screen to order my food. I ordered two cheese burgers and one ice coffee. After I received my receipt. There was a woman standing behind the girl handing out food yelling at her to hurry and get us out of there. Bad service. Got 2 orders wrong back to back. Didn't give condiments or fork with my hot cakes and sausage.

We stop here occasionally when driving to LA from SD , and every single time we came here (about 3 times since January) , we had to wait in line for over 15 minutes because there is only ONE person working the front counter and registers. I don't know why there's only ONE person doing register and handing out the orders when there's like ten other people in the back kitchen chilling . Then my food takes over 20 minutes to get to me. One time my coffee was literally on the counter and she didn't even call out the number until 5 minutes later. Also my ice cream here is always melted and watery. People here are just disorganized and inefficient. They are really slow workers and seem unmotivated to provide quality customer service. Seems like there is no teamwork at all especially when only one person is handing out orders and working the cash register. read more

Always make a stop at this Mickey D's on my way to Disneyland from San Diego. It always pretty packed, a lot of people do the same thing. The parking lot can get a little hectic. When it gets really packed they send out a person to take orders from the drive thru. The decor of the surfboards is pretty cool also. For as many people come thru here they keep this place damn clean. Gotta give it up to the staff for that. Service is alright and the food well you know. read more

Better than most, gives back to the community, and signed surfboards embrace the San Clemente culture. The location is amazing: near high school, off freeway next to gas stations, drive through, and midpoint between San Diego and Los Angeles. I've been pleased to see the owners continuously improve past service issues, reconfiguring drive-through staff, and giving coupons for dissatisfied customers. I'm almost embarrassed to leave a review for McDonalds but this was the worst choice for my husband and I this Sunday morning driving to SD from LA. The woman on the drive thru speaker said "yes?" And we thought she was speaking to someone else, because there was no greeting or "can I take your order?" Then she got snotty and said again "YESSS?" Okay. We will have a number 3 with a pumpkin spice coffee please, and.... "WAIT WAIT WAIT let me put this into my computer!" So we get yelled at. Then she got short with us when we waited for her to catch up. So we quickly told her the rest of our order as to not piss her off. She quotes the price-$13.76 So we pull up to the window to pay and she starts to repeat our order and it's not our order. We told her "no, sorry that's not ours", and again she gets frustrated at us. Then she finds our order, tells us "$13.76"..... so my husband hands her exact change and says "13.76, right?" She counts it, looks at him and says "it's 13.77, you're lucky I have pennies right here for people like you"....um excuse me? We drive up to the pick up window and lucky us we get to deal with ANOTHER rude girl who tried to give us the wrong order which apparently makes it our fault. Then she hands us our correct order... doesn't say thank you, no enjoy, no goodbye, just shuts the window. I could NOT believe the customer service at this place, we were both speechless while we ate our breakfast and continued with our drive. There is a sign on the window that says "Now Hiring, Starting at $12 per hour!" These employees are not deserving. In the LEAST of that income. They managed to mess up our order twice, belittle us, and make us feel like unvalued customers. I rarely if ever go to Mc Donald's, but this was just a huge turnoff. I visited this McDonald's on Saturday, January 16th 2021 at around 5:15 PM to get a caramel frappe and 3 chocolate chip cookies. I wanted the cookies heated, and so when I got cold, hard cookies, I asked the lady working the window if she could heat them up. She pretended like she didn't know what we were asking before giving us a dirty look and going to complain to her manager, before she gave us a snappy tone and told us to wait in a reserved parking spot for 3 cookies. Last two times have been terrible experiences, this in one of the worst Mc Donald's I have ever been to! Experience 1 , late night drive thru only one in line, my order was 2 drinks, burger, fries, took over 15 minutes to get my food, everyone working inside was on their phones, cars backed up behind me! No excuse to take that much time for a simple order! Experience 2 , night shift again , simple order Mc Double and drink, how can they screw this up , service was fast and got my order very quickly, maybe to quickly, f@#%ing burger was COLD! Luckily I was going home and microwaved it! If I'm going to microwave my burger I might as well just microwave a White Castle frozen burger! Seems management at this location is nonexistent at least for the night shifts! NEVER going back to this location ever again! And their Franchise should be revoked! This particular McDonald's is heavily frequented by students of San Clemente High School. A great bunch of teens. They go to a very good school and are very well known for sports and academics. I networked them with Granada Hills Charter High. I wrote a compliment down for the nice lady who was so busy cleaning the eating area. I also remember that they were most aware of 9/11 watchfulness and fire danger there. the employees were very savvy and far smarter than people give them credit for. The French fries were not as hot as they could be though. The soda was fine. Wi-Fi hackers do annoy some there. read more

Only McDonald's in San clemente, located right off of the Ave pico exit and the 5 freeway. right now they have a deal for a small Mc Café drink for two dollars which in my opinion is a good deal . I've been here a few times, never inside but only in the drive thru and the drive thru is always super slow! Coffee is good but slow drive through is frustrating. I don't see why it takes so long to make 2 coffee drinks. They need to improve their efficiency! Two of the times that I've come here I've had to pull out of the drive through and wait for my drinks. And both times I've been in a hurry because someone has been waiting for me. This never happens at any other McDonald's. read more
