Terribly rude service at the drivethru. The AI bot took the order incorrectly and then the woman at the window was bothered when I corrected the order. Further, when she needed my phone since I paid by apple pay tap, she walked away with it to the far end of the counter on other side of the restaurant. Totally unacceptable. She acted like she was using it to tap to create the credit back. I never received the credit for the overcharge. This location is a dump with terrible service. read more

This feels is in the most beautiful location (all of the burgers come after the beach for a bite) The restaurant is modernized, and newer. Always clean and the workers and fast and friendly. We ordered a tea and chicken nuggets and used the restroom for quick stop. I appreciate the workers being on top of cleaning all the tables and even a spill on the ground to prevent a slip and fall. read more

This, the last Carl's Jr. for MILES if you're travelling to San Diego, is a pretty good restaurant. The parking lot experience can be a little iffy with crazy homeless vagrants screaming at cars, each other, plants, and some random port-a-potty facilities located at the far end. I recommend parking as close to the building as possible, and making your way hastily to the doors without making direct eye contact with anyone offering to bless you, telling you to have a great day, or just staring at you. If you're going through the drive-thru, I recommend opening your window when you get to the menu, and not giving money out to any people standing before the sign no matter how witty or clever their cardboard sign is. Now ... once you get inside, the store is amazingly clean. The bathrooms are well maintained, the floors look freshly mopped and dried, and all the tables are clean - not "we removed the tray, so it's clean," but rather "we wiped the table down" clean. This is a tribute to the crew and management at this store; they do a hell of a good job! I ended up here for breakfast, which I don't usually order at Carl's Jr., and this was no exception. I ordered a Steakhouse Angus Thick Burger, medium drink, and - to keep it "breakfasty" - a medium order of "Hash Rounds," which are a clever take on tater tots/hash browns. After grabbing a soda (they didn't have iced tea) I seated myself at one of the clean high-top tables, I took a picture of the dining room so all you yelpers can see how clean it is, and waited for my food. And I didn't have to wait long! The food was delivered to my table quickly (which was pretty impressive, since they didn't give me a table tent). It was exactly as ordered, and was fantastic! I'm a BIG fan of tater tots (probably a holdover from my childhood), and I love these Hash Rounds that Carls Jr. offers. This is a great location, and well worth the stop if you're on your way to San Onofre or All Points South. I'm not a cartographer, so I don't know if Cristianitos Road is the last exit at the southern end of San Clemente, but I do know that there isn't a Carls Jr until you get to Oceanside! Stop in! I went into Carl's Jr. today around 115. It was not busy there was nobody at the counter and it took a while to get served. I ordered a El Diablo burger, and a Coke. I went and sat and waited for my burger to be delivered and finally had to get up and go get the burger at the counter When I got the burger. It was so dry. The bun was shriveled and it was barely edible. I have a feeling that it was sitting there for a long time and no one just bothered to deliver it. There's no way this burger could've been cooked fresh by the way it looked and tasted ended up throwing most of it away. read more

UPDATE: My +1 had pretty bad food poisoning last night after we ate at Carl's Jr. She was up all night with stomach cramps, nausea, chills, and diahrrea. Finally, by morning it must have passed through her system enough for her to sleep. I don't think I'll be returning here. We pulled up after 9 on a weekday night, and nobody else was in line. It was a long day and we were hungry, and as soon as we pulled up to the menu, we knew we had to try the new beer cheese and bacon burger and fries. Service was slow; it literally took about 10 minutes to get our food, and not so much as an apology for making us wait. It was like a neighbor barbecuing all the time .Just driving by one you would smell barbecued hamburgers ...even a vegematerian would tell you that smells good , Sadly those days are gone and I wonder if it's something to do with California and the South Coast AQMD . Just tried the Beyond Meat Famous Star burger and it was fantastic. I had it as a double and a lettuce wrap. Even though I'm not vegan, I'm into consuming less red meat. This burger was delicious. It tastes like real meat without that heaviness feeling after eating all that harmful animal fat. I'll definitely have it again. Hand cut fries were quite good too.
