I love McDonald's but I think a big part of the experience is the drive thru. McDonald's is usually really fast but this location is pretty slow. I could get a walk in order just as fast as the drive thru, maybe even faster, which I think defeats the purpose. They have two order-receiving stations and two windows, but every time I've been here they only use one. It shows that they are consistently understaffed. They really should hire more people and get those windows up and running! Employees are friendly, though. read more

I'm definitely with the consensus here, this is by far the worst managed McDonald's around! Aside from Starbucks, this is the only other option available at 5, however half the time when you arrive they don't acknowledge you. I just don't understand why they even have the the dining room or drive thru lights on if they aren't technically available to take orders?? This is a nice McDonald's! It was pretty GHETTO up until recently when it underwent a major renovation and redecoration project. Now the location is clean and new. The decor is modern, sleek, and posh. The food is consistent McDonald's food. Nothing exceptional, but everything you have come to expect and love (or hate) about Mickey D's. read more

I live in Scotts Valley and have eaten at this McDonalds Many times over the last 20 years. The people are always friendly and the food is always consistent. I would recommend the filet of fish meal with a couple of $1 hamburgers a large Carmel Frappe and 2 apple pies. My Favorite. read more

Let me start off by saying that I come to this location a lot because it is close to home. For a long time the quality and service here were very decent. However over the last 90 days things have been going down hill. The last three times I have come in the sweet tea is empty. I go to the counter and say: "excuse me but the sweet tea is empty" before I can finish my thought the supervisor is playing 20 questions with the employees. Meanwhile I'm standing there cup still empty. I shouldn't have to explain to the shift supervisor that I'm not looking for a report on why it's empty in looking for you to grab my cup and fill it up from the drive thru dispenser. And Maybe we could train some of these new people to fill the ketchup dispensers and not sweep the floors right next to a person eating. Also there is no reason that managers should be having a pow wow with 2 or 3 employees in the back corner of dining area while there are dirty table tops, no ketchup cups, and 8 people standing in line... read more

Guy who took my order at the window was extremely rude and would barely let me finish ordering the items I wanted before continuously interrupting and saying "anything else" every two seconds. Obviously I am still speaking. I also asked for an item that had been discontinued unbeknownst to me because I order chicken wraps at other McDonald's locations and he interrupted me once again after my shocked tone had said oh I have ordered them at other locations and his response was "well obviously not here because we haven't had them in a while" rather than simply saying "oh I'm sorry our location no longer carries them." Just because it's fast food doesn't mean the people who work their should treat the people fast. The wait is incredibly long, especially in the drive-thru. My kids love the McFlurry's so I recently told them I'd skip the drive-thru line and run in to get them each one. The guy who helped me looked to be a young manager. While he was helping me, there was another young worker behind the ice cream machine on a ladder, out of uniform and had an unlit cigerette hanging out of his mouth while he filled the machine....no joke! The possibly manager checked his cell phone while ringing me up. Then while making the McFlurry's, called whoever on his cell phone back. I was so stunned but seriously have had so many bad experiences with this McDonalds that I didn't feel that saying anything was necessary. We only went on occasion and now I don't want to spend money there at all. My hope is that the owners will get it together and whip their staff into shape and hire more people too. A heartfealt thank you goes out to the person running the drive-thru at about 7:30 this evening. You were so rude, when I got to the front of the line, I kept going. Had you been competent and civilized, I would have consumed probably 1,500 nutrition-less calories that I do not need (does anyone need them???). I came through the drive-thru and placed the first part of my order three times. You did not hear me. I increased my volume. You accused me of yelling at you. When I explained I was speaking louder since you couldn't hear me (obviously) you told me you didn't need me to be rude. You were very aggressive, passive, and otherwise. You went back and forth yelling at me and giving me the silent treatment. Some employees are kind and informative. They accept apple pay. After work and for the commute home, I usually come to this place for a quick any size $1 soda, and generally it turns out hassle free. However on my last visit, I noticed the drive-thru line was too long for just a soda, so i parked my car and went inside. As i place my order the teens working there are being so loud and obnoxious that the elderly woman working cashier can barely hear me. I then go to the new and updated soda machine only to find out that they are out of Dr. Pepper. I am about to settle for coke when I notice it's out too! ALL of the soda's are out leaving only lite fruit punch :( hope they can keep items filled and keep the drive-thru moving swiftly in the future. read more

Can't comment on the food as we were unable to order, as it was "shift change", by the way we sat at the drive through for 10 minutes, waiting for this shift change. So I had been going to this McDonald's regularly in the early morning hours before going in to work. Most times no problem but the last time I was there I got so mad I decided to NEVER go there again. It was the third time I had pulled into the drive thru and waited patiently for someone to take my order. After about 6 or 7 minutes I give up and pull up to the window. No one appears so I pull up their info on my phone and call them. The first two times they answer and express great shock that I am at the window but haven't been able to actually place my order. The third time it happens I make my phone call, a woman answers and acts like she doesn't hear me and hangs up. I try again but now the phone just rings and rings. No one answers. I see the drive thru window is not all the way closed so I reach over and open it. I call out 'hello! hello!' but no one comes. By now I'm pretty irritated and frustrated and hungry so I try honking my horn. Still no one comes. I really don't know what else I can do to get their attention and then suddenly here comes a woman with the headset on seemingly surprised to see me. She asks me 'did you give me your order?' and I truthfully answer no, and then I ask her did she ask me for my order? This seems to confuse her and then another car pulls up behind me. I figure out she has taken that persons order and doesn't have a clue where I came from. Mind you, she never once asked me if she could take my order, she just kept asking me if I gave her my order. She then tells me to pull around again so that the car behind me can get their order. I tell her no, I'm not moving. I figure if I have been trying for 25 minutes to place my order she can wait 25 minutes for me to move. I know, pretty childish but I was so pissed at the level of incompetency and stupidity I guess I just lowered my expectations to match! I asked why didn't she take my order and she told me because 'the other guy had the headset'. I asked why didn't he take my order then and she said I don't know. Honestly I have no idea what they were doing while I was trying to place my order but they certainly were not doing their jobs. I had planned on calling the owner during the day but haven't. By the looks of the other comments I doubt he pays any attention. It seems the poor behavior continues. I don't miss going there at all! read more

There are 4 reasons to go here. The first 3 are Anna, Laurencio and Chase. They work in the mornings and are awesome. Friendly, personable and get it when it comes to customer service. The fourth reason is the Sweet Tea. Amazing stuff! The rest of the counter/drive thru staff don't seem to want to be there or are just clueless when it comes to customer relations. They don't smile, talk to you like they are robots that have a tape recording playing the usual questions and responses. I get that it can be monotonous, but fake it if you have to!! Sadly, the worst problem with this location seems to be the folks who own it. I've called their office a few times and the next return phone call I get will be the first one. If you don't care enough to call people back, be honest about it and take the phone number down. Hats off to the lady in the picture at the top of this file. She is absolutely should be the poster child for this location and the owners attitude. No personality or even an effort to try. She does not care and does nothing to hide it. I normally don't review fast food restaurants however this is worth nothing. By far the worst McDonald's I've been to. It doesn't appear the franchise owner has any sort of business acumen. An elderly lady was helping us it was a very simple order yet made multiple mistakes inputting it into the register. The restaurant was absolutely filthy in the dining area and the floor was sticky near the soda machine. In addition, the soda mixture was off. Also, it was odd that a mop was in the back and tables wer left with food wrappers. When I picked up our order the tray had dried up ketchup on the bottom. Ick! GILROY Garlic Fries are just horrible at this McDonald's! The fries were cold, the garlic topping was at the bottom of the container and the medium size had less fries than a small order of fries. Is she the only person on duty? I was expecting she would take my order but she said sorry, you need to drive around again. Well, This place is always dirty. Some other reviewer must have been there the day they cleaned it. We drive by daily and eat there often and we have never seen it clean. The coke machine is always sticky and the door is covered with hand prints. Tables are clean it yourself. This is a management problem as the kids and older folks working seem to be normal people. I have yet to get a correct order from this McDonald's: missing fries, missing drinks, unstirred McFlurry's with all the Oreo on top and plain ice cream underneath, sausage mcmuffin w/ egg, but no egg. After avoiding for a few months, I decided to give them another chance this morning: sat in the drive-thru line for 30 minutes, had to confirm my order 5 times, was charged and refunded for the wrong order, and ended up with a flippant apology and no food. A mistake now and again is bound to happen, but the employees at this McDonald's seem to have a singular disregard for service. For sure this time, will *never* be back. read more

This location actually didn't even earn a single star in my book(actually the employees this evening)... the "chicken" nuggets looked as though they had been picked up off the floor, literal dirt and fuzz on them (YUCK) I also asked at the drive through if they had chocolate chip cookies, he said yes, I ordered four.. got to the window to pay and pick up order, gonna be a wait for the cookies, still baking (so no they didn't really have any!!!) ok two of my kids were sleeping so no big deal waiting a few minutes!!! 40 minutes later we still had not received our cookies and I sent my two older kids in to ask and they waited 10 minutes, no one ever acknowledged them, mean while I watched three employees come and go either on cig break, or out chatting with other customers outside... I had to wake the other two, just to go in and get the others and go..still didn't receive our cookies, but they sure took my money!!!!
