Hands down the worst McDonalds in the area. Every time I visit, I swear I'll never return. Unfortunately, the next closest McDonalds is in Chantilly, so I'm not going to drive that far for fast food. Fries are always either burnt and cold or just cold. Drinks typically have three ice cubes floating around like a European soda. Food is never consistent. We moved into the area of South Riding back in January. I visit this McDonalds once or twice a week and with absolutely NO EXAGGERATION they get it wrong... EVERY EVERY EVERY TIME, even if you don't order something special they will forget something stupid like the pickles or even the cheese on your cheese burger. It takes an average of 30 min in the drive through or standing in line and that's if there are only a few people there, any more than 5 people in the house, you can expect to be waiting for at least an hour. When you get home to realize your meal is wrong and call up to complain NO ONE on their management team offers so much as an apology, let alone a comp'd meal. If it were me I would apologize to my customer who is obviusly LIVID, offer them a meal and get back in the kitchen and find the problem employee and fix or fire them! I will be on the phone with corporate first thing in the morning, this is just ridiculous! Even the McDonalds in the crack head neighborhoods of Baltimore and DC can get it right and deliver you a hot box of fries, but the ONLY mcDonalds in the froofiest town in Northern VA Just can't seem to figure it out. Ok, where do I begin? With 2 kids and a busy schedule a trip to our local neighborhood McDonalds is sometimes necessary, but I have come to the conclusion to just avoid the South Riding McDonalds all together. Every time I get an order to go something is missing. Today it was the nuggets last week it was the fries the month before that it was a single cheeseburger. Turn back around and let a member of the management staff know, but never an apology or even act like they care. Staff is always slow drive through or dine in. At 4am returning from dc I required a breakfast sandwich. I believe the guy who took our orders name was Eric, he was quite literally the most professional and quick person I have seen working at a Mcdonalds he did not appear to be on drugs at all, huge shock and was completely competent and pleasant. My son and I decided the drive through line was long so let's go inside to place our Togo order, big mistake. The area to place your order is small and can get crowded when there are just a few people waiting for their order. We ordered from the pick two menu, a 10 piece nugget, a filet o fish, and 2 breakfast burritos for some reason our order took longer to prepare than the 4 other people who ordered their food after us. We also realized the drive through is much faster even when the line is wrapped around the building. We will not be going inside to order our Togo order any more. read more

This McDonald's is lucky there are few fast food options in this area otherwise people would stop going to it. This McDonald's is terrible, bad management, bad staff, bad service. I have yet to go to this McDonald's without having something go wrong. My food has been messed up more times then I can count, one time I waited 20 minutes for a Mocha Latte because it was just too difficult for them handle making, any every employee I see is frowning and not friendly. Today was the last straw and after so many bad experiences I finally had to post this review. My order was handed to me in the drive thru and after checking the bag (as you must do here) i noticed i was missing two sandwiches which I was then given after showing my receipt and asking for them. I ordered a southern style chicken sandwich and when I got home to open it I found that instead of the usual fried chicken breast there were simply two random pieces of fried chicken placed on the bun and served as a sandwich! How do you serve that to someone?? The employees simply don't care enough about their jobs to care about the customer experience and If there were any other fast food options nearby this McDonalds would go out of business. My frustration with this McDonalds is what caused me to create an account on Yelp. I'm not sure what has happened, but they have really gone downhill the last 6-12 months (I've lived in the area for the last 7 years). There are times recently that it's taken 15-20 minutes to get through the drive-through. I'm not exaggerating - I checked my clock. I've also found that recently there is about a 25-50% chance that something is wrong with your order when you pick it up at the drive-through window. At breakfast today 2 items were missing and one item was wrong (despite everything being correct on the order screen). I try to avoid this McDonalds whenever possible, unfortunately with kids I'm sometimes unable to do that. read more

I don't usually do reviews but this is the second time this McDonald's messed up my order. First time I ordered fries and a ice coffee TO GO. They hand it to me on a tray. I said can I have that in a bag. Employee said sure and didn't even know or realized it was to go order. He puts it in the bag but leaves a few fries on the tray. Doesn't even put the rest in. Visit this McDonalds somewhat regularly. Tonight at 10 PM I could not order McFlurries, sundaes, or cherry pies. Sweet tea machine was not filled in the lobby and soda machines were off. I ordered only to discover credit cards were not being accepted....problems...cash only. Just ran over to McDonalds to grab a smoothie in the drive-thru. Not busy, quiet time of day. I had to pull forward and wait. After about 10 minutes, one of the employees came out and asked me what my order was again. Then five to ten minutes later one of them brought me my smoothie.
