Yes, i am smirking at myself for this lunch-choice, but this time a I just wanted fast and familiar food at the West Yellowstone McDonald's drive-through. Sometimes that's the best way with tired children (or adults :-). Conveniently, the app worked fine, and there are several pickup spaces if you around to the north side of the building. West Yellowstone isn't a town full of fast-food restaurants. The food here was hot and fresh and just like every other McDonald's. (Which isn't always true at out-of-the-way locations.) The staff was friendly. The restaurant was quite busy on a weekday at lunch (July 2026), and it was only 5 minutes waiting for pickup. read more

Steak, Egg & Cheese McMuffin: Compared to what I had in Boston, the steak patty was a bit overcooked and not as fatty. The quality control seems to be worse than in China. This McDonald's charges for any other sauce besides ketchup and even then they only wanna give you two packets. I've never been to a McDonald's that charges for BBQ sauce or ranch. And they don't even tell you. You get to the pick up window and you ask for sauce and they go "dId YoU pAy FoR it?" Inside the restaurant is very nice, with lots of seatings, better than the average McDonald's. The food was great. For my food, I had ordered the Big Mac and fries. The Big Mac tasted like the usual Big Mac, nothing to complain about. The fries were perfectly salted, not too much, not too little. Great McDonald's. We spent the entire day exploring the park and wanted a light quick meal since we ate a later lunch in the park. We didn't feel like eating at a sit down restaurant and since McDonald's was located right in front of our hotel it was so convenient and quick. We ordered the double quarter pounder with cheese and the double cheeseburger "to go" so we could take it right to our hotel room. Both hit the spot for us. Food tasted like McDonald's ! 4-26-22 We had seen this McDonalds the day before so it was the best possible choice between gas station food or this or skip the first meal of the day completely. The McGriddle sandwiches were just right for a morning of sightseeing on day 2 at Yellowstone. The location is easy to pull into to place an order at their drive through window. Notice the height of the unshoveled snow in the photo next door. We saved Old Faithful Geyser and Prismatic for today and had already learned the food situation inside. Like most park attendees like us, it was follow the signs, or pull off on the side of the road for wildlife sightings and snap away. We didn't need a heavy meal, just something to keep our tummies from signaling feed me. If you're headed into the park be sure to bring bottled water, a bag of snacks and extra blankets just in case. You could find yourself without WiFi or reception to make a phone call in case of an emergency for hours. It doesn't hurt to be prepared. read more

This has to be the most expensive McDonald's in all of the US. They have 3 self-service stations as you come into the restaurant, and you have to almost beg to get an employee to take your order. The french fries were cold, and the burger was super salty. Bad service and bad food, what more could you ask for while on vacation. Next time, I will make a sandwich at home before entering Yellowstone National Park. read more

After a VERY stressful day of long driving and snowy road conditions in the park, we were in desperate need of food before turning in for the night at a nearby hotel. We ordered 20 nuggets, two double cheeseburgers and fries, plus an oreo mcflurry. I think it was a deal advertised on the menu. The food came out nice and fresh and the ice cream machine was working ;) Maybe it tasted better because we were exhausted and starving, but it's the first time we've had McDonalds in awhile and we were completely satisfied. read more

I love McDonalds steak, egg, cheese begals. I have had two at the West Yellowstone McDonalds and 10-15 down in Sandy Utah. The steak at West Yellowstone is full of gristle, while the ones in Sandy were tender and have no gristle. West Yellowstone fix it!!! read more

2 stars for the food! Because our family loves Mc Donald's. Staff service including managers could be much better and needs empathy. After an purchase of 47 dollars worth of breakfast all we needed is 2 extra empty cups, on route for kids. We were declined and instead asked for 30 cents for each cup. Really a company like Mc Donalds has to charge this. This is first of its kind experience and other fast food and coffee franchise - non do this. Thanks a lot for ruining our beautiful morning. Standard food and drinks We were happy that this West Yellowstone location had the mango-pineapple smoothie (though it wasn't listed on the menu) which provided a fresh, pick-me-up for our drive north on 191 from West Yellowstone (part of Yellowstone National Park which does not require passing through a pay station but has many pull-offs, campgrounds, and trailheads). A sandwich for each of us, medium fries and smoothie to share, and a medium Americano came out to about $26. $13/each saw us through from breakfast to a very late dinner. Convenient and tastier than a cold deli sandwich -we were thankful. Thanks to this McDonald's - the only fast food drive thru in West Yellowstone! read more

We left Yellowstone through the west entrance, and saw McDonalds as we drove out of the park and decided to get lunch. The lobby was open, we walked in and got a Spicy Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich and 6 piece nuggets with a drink. The service was very friendly and quick, we were back out in the car in 5 mins. The sandwich and the nuggets were what we were expecting from McDonalds. There were a couple of tables open to sit down, they were both occupied by people working on laptops. read more

Ok, so I have a couple things to say about this McDonalds. The food on average is about 2-3 times higher than eating at a McDonalds basically anywhere else. I guess I always assumed the franchise would fix its prices as closely as it would it's menu. I know now. The bathroom was dirtier than a truck stop in West Memphis. I unfortunately had to use it only to find, too late, that there was no TP. That was fun. The food is exactly what you would expect. The seating area is so small we opted to eat outside on their outside tables. However, we soon are in the car when we found bird dropping (including most of a worm) all over the table tops. The service was not great. I was honestly surprised by how bad the experience was. And that's coming from a person who already had pretty low expectations going into the restaurant. read more

Plenty of parking. The drive-thru line is long. So it looks like this MCD wants to obey the Covid-19 .. all tables are not available for dining and I saw a Black guy sitting at a table. The self served fountain drinks are not available for self serve and I see a woman getting her own drink. They want one entrance door and another door for exit. When I entered, the entrance area was so full of people. Unbelievable... The ladies bathroom had 2 stalls. Looks acceptable. read more

Genuinely the best mcdonalds out there. Have been here three times, every single time i have been here, it has been packed to the brim, and i still order and get my food in 5 mins. There is great service, fast service, and a great meal. They keep the restaurant clean, being able to see a worker wipe down a table immediately after use. Also the bathroom was exceptionally clean and nice. Every single time my burger has been stacked perfectly, with a non smushed bun, and it looks straight out of the commercial. The burger has also been so delicious, juicy, and flavorful: having me needing another bite. The fries have been consistently outstandingly delicious. They have been perfectly crispy, salted, and having me needing another one. I love this mcdonalds, i get excited for it every time i get to go because i know im gonna be treated to great service and a delicious meal. All mcdonalds should examine and watch this one so that they can match this level of quality. Literally the leading model in the fast food industry. read more

If possible, I would give a negative 5. Worse food ever. Fries were cold and unsalted. I paid almost 70 bucks and our order was missing items. Did you know that a quarter pounders does not come with lettuce and tomato? If you want lettuce and tomato, you have to pay $1.50 more. Never heard of that. AND like most McDonald's, guess what....
