The people and staff that own and operate McWethy's are exceptional. For New Years I ordered their Prime Rib and was not disappointed. It was spectacular, comes ready to eat and that's what my guests did. I'm a lover of beef, especially prime rib and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. We're not local to McWerthys but we saw the billboard on I55 & decided to give it a try. Its is around 5 miles from I55. Two of us sat at the bar - we were the only customers at a 30 seat bar. Bartender Erin was chatting with a waitress when we arrived and took 5 full minutes before she 'noticed' us. Drinks were fine, beer selection was okay. I asked for a tall vodka soda and when the check came, it appeared that it was assumed that I wanted extra vodka. I didn't ask for extra vodka, it didn't taste extra vodka - I like a lot of club soda which is why I ask for talks. Without asking Erin put an extra charge on our check for a tall. The dining room looked inviting and the menu looked okay - we ordered the hummus which was just okay. In the end, we decided not to stay for dinner based on the lackadaisical service. read more

This place is very cute and the wait staff is always nice. However a lot of the time my food comes out cold and considering the price for basic items here it should not be cold. Also who the heck puts strawberry sauce and whipped cream on creme brulee that was awful and cheapened the taste immensely. Second time here for Sunday brunch and for $33 a person I have to say it was far from worth it. Last time they had prime rib, turkey and a delicious fish dish. This time it was ham and chicken. Bacon was fatty and limp. The desert table all looked store bought, I noticed the exact same donuts you can find at a Thornton's gas station. Omelet bar was good as was the Mac and cheese but I really didn't need two kinds of M&C. For $33 I expect an above the norm selection. No waffles or pancakes just dry hard French toast. Fantastic experience! Staff was so kind and welcoming. I really liked our waitress yet can't remember her name. Food is very delicious, view so gorgeous! Drinks are a bit pricey. The only thing I can think of recommending is wrapped drinking straws as that would be a bit more sanitary than just having straws in a bin at the bar. I also talked with the bartender who was a lady and so kind. I think that whoever does the hiring here knows how to select outstanding employees. read more

View was nice, food was good, patio seating good until a delivery truck parked by the patio and ran the diesel engine emitting exhaust onto the patio. Strange for a delivery truck to park there on a Saturday evening at 6:15 pm. We left after 7:00pm and it was still there running. Our server, Taylor was a nice young lady, but had no clue how to serve. Had to ask for specials, she didn't even know how a steak was cooked. Unfortunately during my dinning experience here at McWethy's Tavern was food was absolutely appalling. I told the waitress what I want and she was very incompetent. She got my order utterly wrong and I was very disgusted of what food plate was sat in front of me. The chicken sandwich was very dry and unseasoned which ruined my whole entire dinner. I am never ever coming back again to this establishment and I hope this place does better in the future and my friend mention that her chicken Parmesan had no flavor. Highly disappointed. read more

We went there for the Mother's Day brunch and the service was horrible. I went to check in and there were five employees arguing. It was several minutes before someone acknowledged my presence. We were early for our reservation and we were told we could not be seated early. We asked again at 5 minutes before our reservation and explained that my father is 90 and needed to sit down and again were told no. When we were seated, the dining room was half empty. They were giving flowers to all the moms. I did not receive one. I feel like I was punished for asking to be seated early. I would have forgotten all of that if the service got better when we were seated. We waited a long time for someone to get our drink order. After that we went to the buffet. The food was OK. The desserts were horrible. I like McWethy's restaurant but will not be back for brunch. read more

We went for Fish Fry 2 weeks ago. It was my first time. We will be back again for sure! A beautiful dining room overlooking the golf course. But the real reason we will return was the food! My husband has a few really tricky dietary needs and they we so accommodating! The chef came out to fully understand his dietary needs. I was shocked because he really cared! Our food came out with full explanation of how it was prepared. Going out to eat can be stressful for us. The staff was amazing. And the food was delicious! The fish was light and flaky with the perfect amount of crispy breading. It was fried to perfection! The fries were hot and not greasy! Dessert was decadent! The bread pudding so yummy! Two weeks ago, I dined in the Friday after Thanksgiving. It was 11am, and my server was Jose! The steak sandwich was unchewable to the point I had wads of meat in my napkin. After stating to the server I could not chew it, no refunds or accommodations were made. He asked if I wanted another one, I sat there dazed and confused explaining I probably couldn't chew that meal either. Nothing was taken off my bill and I wasted $50. Avoid this place at all cost. So being the good Christian that I am, I decide to give this place a second chance and only order drinks at the bar. I had the worst experience where we were ignored even though there was five people at the bar. The expresso martini was weak sauce where I did not even catch a buzz. The Irish coffee was horrible, probably was sitting there for hours. The bartender didn't even ask me if I wanted Bailey creamer. Horribleeeeeeeeee. My niece was upset about her martini and I was upset with my irish coffee. Really disappointed read more

Tonight My wife had to order the 'Lamb Burger' tonight instead of the 'Beyond Burger' she wanted because the tavern informed us they were out of 'Beyond Burger' ingredients. When the tavern representative called us to inform us of this situation, my wife agreed to get the 'Lamb Burger' instead. On the call, my wife explicitly McWeathy's representative that she wanted the 'Lamb Burger' prepared 'Well Done (no pink in the center), the tavern representative confirmed the 'Lamb Burger' would be prepared 'Well done' (no pink in the center). Sadly this is NOT what we received when the Burger was delivered to us tonight. As you can see in the attached photo, this Lamb Burger was not prepared well done. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED. Since this was sent to us with a very pink center, my wife was unable to eat this and needed to have half of my meal. This was purchased via Uber Eats order # 75683. Again, we are very disappointed in the inability of the tavern to prepare a meal correctly to a customers confirmed request. **Update** I was contacted by the restaurant this evening and this has been rectified to my satisfaction. read more

This place is nice and clean from the inside, however the food was a huge let down! We went here for New Years Eve to have a nice dinner since it is close to home and we did not want to venture very far. We had reservations, but for some reason still had to wait to be seated. Yet there were many open tables. Not sure what the hold up was to get seated. They actually seated people that checked in after us, before we finally got our table. When we finally get seated we ordered our cocktails. We waited about 20 minutes for our cocktails. (Now granted we anticipated a bit of a wait at any restaurant since it is New Years Eve). However our appetizer actually arrived before our beverages. We had the fried calamari it was very soggy. For dinner we ordered the Filet and the New York strip. We both tried different soups one was Italian Wedding the other French Onion. I had to send my Italian Wedding Soup back it was ice cold. Waiting for a new soup took about another 15-20 minutes. My Fillet was lukewarm. But by this point I did not want to send something else back. The actual decent food we had were the seasoned potatoes and asparagus. Lastly we wanted to order an expresso along with a desert and were told the the espresso machine was out of order. I had my promo for a free dessert for checking in on Yelp. This took forever for them to figure out how apply that to my bill. Our bill was $140 for cold food and a long long long wait for everything. I really wanted to like this place. Came in for lunch today, started with the scotch egg, absolutely perfect, nice crunchy sausage wrapped round a perfectly soft center egg. Had the soup of the day, roasted red pepper with pork loin, excellent balance of flavors. Finished up with the lam shank with mashed potatoes, it is on the menu with gnocchi, I think the mashed potatoes work better and the kitchen made the change with no problem, lamb was perfectly braised served with a very rich wine sauce. The lamb was fall off the bone tender and very moist, if you like lamb you have to try this!! I sat at the bar and was very well attended by Ryan, all the staff were upbeat and friendly, the main dining room has beautiful views of the golf course. My husband decided to go out for dinner this evening and started out at a different restaurant. My husband was treated so poorly that we decided to leave and find some where else to eat. We hit the jackpot! We have wanted to eat at McWerthy's for a while and thought why not. Our server was Jessica and she was amazing. All of her recommendations were on target. We shared with her our expierence prior to us getting there and we all had a chuckle. The food was amazing. My husband and I both had the baked onion soup which was so good. He had fish and chips which he said was very good and I had the Cobb salad which was incredible. Jessica checked on us and made sure the drinks were filled and all was good. We started to rap up the evening and Nikki and Liz (managers) came to our table with a beautiful piece of cake. They explained to us that Jessica shared our story with them and wanted our evening to end on a sweet note. How amazing. What a wonderful way to end dinner. We will definitely be back.
