I went in to have my gel manicure removed, and the website listed the service as $15. However, when I arrived, a staff member informed me it would actually cost $25. I wasn't given an explanation for the price difference. I've tried to stay open-minded about this salon, but during my last few visits, I've experienced passive-aggressive behavior from some of the technicians, which has made me feel uncomfortable returning. Because of that, I'd recommend double-checking prices with the receptionist beforehand to avoid unexpected charges like I experienced. read more

Place wasn't crowded when I went, so after calling ahead I got right in. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were patient, detailed, and clean. I did a spa pedicure and it was relaxing and the quality of the pedicure has lasted a long time! Holly at MD Nail Spa is an absolute gem. She's incredibly talented and can create beautiful designs perfect for any occasion--classic, trendy, bold, you name it. I've been getting my nails done regularly every few weeks for 15+ years and I have never found an artist in a salon as talented and caring about their work as Holly. She's also incredibly efficient. What takes Holly 2-3 hours has taken other artists 5+ hours for me in the past (yes you read that right). Every appointment is smooth, organized, and professional, and I'm consistently blown away by the quality and detail of her work. Holly is also the first nail artist to do this work with hard gel for me rather than acrylic and my nails are much harder to break since she started doing them. Beyond nail art, she's one of the few people who can properly cut my ingrown toenails. I get instant relief every time I see her for a pedicure--truly life-changing if you struggle with this and she gives a fantastic massage, not one where there's no effort or pressure like I've had at other places in the past. Pro tip: if you know in advance what you want, reach out and send your idea to her as a photo--she'll plan the design so your appointment is seamless and exactly how you want it. I am one of those girls who look at all of the beautifully shellacked, artfully detailed manicured nail photos on Yelp with envy. This review will speak to none of that for if you met me and saw my hands and feet, I want short, clean, buffed to a shine nails with no polish, healthy nail beds and soft skin. It is difficult to take a photo of "customer care," but if I could I would take a photo of Natalie at MD Nail Spa and title it customer care and post it. I go to a nail place to have all four tips of my limbs pampered and given a little bit of wellness care regularly. I use to go to someplace else in the area for a long time, but over time the quality care began to deteriorate in my opinion. Knowing I am a super easy, undemanding client, the use of the drill to buff done my nail bed after asking them not to do so repeatedly was a deal breaker for me personally (I personally felt like it was the quick way to cut corner to address cuticle care). Clean nails, natural intact nail beds please. With that, Natalie and the staff of MD Nail Spa deliver on my expectation of service and care with sincere hospitality and kindness from the moment I walk in to the final rub, buff and file before I am walking out the door. Walk-ins are welcome or simply call to alert them that you are on their way and they will accommodate you. I always call a few days in advance. I have heard Natalie on the phone speak with customers and adjust her schedule and others to make a customers preferred time work. They were even open on Thanksgiving 2023.... they are clearly here for the nails of we west siders! Although I like Natalie and see her specifically, I know they rotate staff around depending on what you need....one tech is going to be better at one thing and another is going to be better at another. All of the staff have years of experience and they only hire staff that are experienced in the many niches of nails. I always look forward to going to my appointments. Their is a genuine warmth about Natalie that always makes me feel welcomed and cared for. I want all the bells and whistles of scents, scrubs, peels, lotions and wraps that make me feel luxurious and like a woman (but truth be told, it was my husband who had been having his nails done here with her long before I came, LOL). Like many salons, there is a menu of products and brands available offering different levels of services from basic to posh. I always lean on their extravagant options and it will cost me around $100, but I feel my time here is a good investment for not only my hands and feet, but my psyche in a way. I feel like they are appreciative and value me as a customer. Music is nice and calming, the pedicure room is well decorated and soothing in color and clean and of course there is the customary nail salon TV showing some easy HGTV or cooking show up on the wall. With the mention of clean, I LOVE seeing their cleaning person about sometimes when I am in, cleaning floors and dusting off lights (I like to actually see this occurring for some reason, it reconfirms the cleanliness factor for me which is important to me and clearly important to MD Nail). If the room gets busy, I can be sometimes bothered by some rude client chatting away on a cell phone like this spot is their personal office, but it is what it is. Clearly in Vegas there are lots of places one can get their nails done (probably in every shopping plaza, right?...everybody always has their "nail person"). Natalie along with the team and the kindness and great customer care always shown to me makes this a no brainer that I will continue to go back and be a customer. Easily located in the now booming plaza on Hualapai down near Tropicana, I would encourage others in the area to try them as well. They have nice long hours and are open late as well. read more

I had been a customer since this place opened when it used to be until 11 PM. However, the last visit made them lose me and my husband as customers. I need basic services because I have to keep my nails short for my work and I am constantly on my feet where I beat them up. All that I need is a powder dip and a pedicure. We were both charged $48 for a pedicure and an extra seven dollars for a pumice stone treatment. I had also paid $55 for a powder dip. During the manicure, I asked why they didn't cut the dry skin down, and I was told that that was an up charge, but that she would do it for me. My husband and I were charged the same amount for the same pedicure, even though I got a gel. It turns out, she says that I was uncharged on the pedicure. When I let them know that we didn't like the results, they said that they would fix it, but they no longer use the device that removes the dry skin from your heels. I paid an extra seven dollars for a pumice treatment that did not include this and I told them that they should have let me know that because a the last time I was there, they did use it. I was told that they would be fined a thousand dollars if they were caught using it from now on. I even tipped them when I left. I usually leave at least 20. This is the result and we will no longer be customers. read more

Holly was vindictive and mean because I asked her why it was taking so long when we had an appointment set up, she made me wait. She was nice enough to do my pedicure decent but I paid bad told her I'd come back to finish my hands because she had a day full of appts. I came back at 5pm and was made to wait. So I feel holly became vindictive and spiteful rushing through my nails. She was hurting me and nail polish all over my hands. The nails are thick ugly and misshapen this woman is not talented in doing nails. She wouldn't stop bothering me with annoying questions, not only that she was aggressive rude and loudly talking in another language the whole time to the other ladies in the shop. I was trying to relax. Very in relaxing experience. My nails are thick, and shorter than I'd like and I will never come back here. My reasons for going to a salon for my mani and pedis is to treat myself to a bit of luxury and try and relax and unwind. Like many, I have also experienced the 'bounce around blues'. I have been in and out of many salons in Vegas due to the use of inferior product, incompetence of nail tech, or issues with the salon itself. I thought I was asking too much to get the service I expected but I think I have "nailed it" by going back to MD Nail Spa. Yes, they are a tad bit pricey compared to some of the other salons I have tried but now realize that you get what you pay for! I am lucky to have encountered Holly this time around and she has taken care of me twice now for all my nail service needs... I am very pleased! She has done a fantastic job, suggested Gel-X product, which I love and has done an outstanding job with my ombre' polish not to mention my nail art. She listens well and helps you if you end up stuck on deciding your needs. The salon has separate rooms for pedicures and manicures, which I like. They are conscientious about cleanliness, their products old up very well too. They play soothing music to help relax the customer and offer so many different services. EASY 5 star experience! My friend and I love to meet up for pedicures and we have finally found our FAV spot. The chairs are nice, the spa is super clean and our pedicures were amazing. My favorite part was that we got to choose between an appetizer for any pedicure over $55. The spring rolls are so good! Next time we plan on eating there before or after our pedis. I also loved that the staff did not rush us out. Even after our pedicures we stayed for about 15 minutes just to talk and hang out. I rarely go out of my way to leave reviews, but it's worth mentioning that even as a working single mom with very little time, I go out of my way to drive here. I have to have my nails done for work, but am hard on my hands- I find that when I get my nails done here, they last almost an extra week than when I go anywhere else. Plus, they are quick. I don't usually leave reviews but the experience I just had compels me to do so. I have to say up front, I have had 2 prior experiences with this salon in the years prior, and both were atrocious. This location is so close to where I live, I desperately wanted them to be better. I saw that MD was under new ownership and I made the mistake of trying again. I explained I wanted a powder dip fill, with a single color and a regular pedicure with regular polish. I said exactly like the nails I walked in with, just a different color on the tips. They tried to talk me in to gel. I said no. Gel doesn't last on me, it peels off. Plus my existing nails just needed a fill. They agreed they could do what I asked. Pedicure first. They put me with an older male technician. He asked me multiple times if I wanted gel on my toes and I explained multiple times why I didn't. He seemed irritated. When we went to do the fill and manicure, I explained again. I had shown him my existing nails and said I want exactly this but with yellow on the tips to match the toes. He asked again, I explained again. He agreed. Got everything filed down and then he started applying some kind of thick lumpy clear acrylic looking gel to my powder dipped nails. It was goopy. I had been watching the tv when I looked down and realized what he was doing. He's been working for quite some time on one nail. Trying to sculpt a nail shape out of the blobs. I stopped him. The acrylic was see through and you can see the power dip underneath. My nails beds looked discolored. He was very exasperated. After a back and forth I quickly realized that I was not going to have time for him to take this crap off and start over, and the way he argued makes me think they don't have powder dip at all. I told him fine, finish but this is not what I asked for. It's my fault for trying them again and I don't have time to start over. I told him to do what he needed to, in order to make it look like what I came in with. I was calm and respectful, I figured I will deal with getting it fixed next time with my usual salon. I had pale yellow on my toes and he was supposed to use the matching powder version on my tips. At this point this guy was refusing to use powder, so I said whatever you do, just use the matching polish/gel that's on my toes so I can be on my way. We were at the 2 hour mark at this point. I looked around for the manager, didn't see her. He said he understood, and then proceeded to start painting my nails STARK WHITE. I said "sir, what are you doing? I said yellow, match the toes..." he just started sighing and rolling his eyes. I asked if there was someone else I could speak with to explain. He said "I understand you perfectly I don't know why you have to get so difficult"... I stood up and said I am just going to pay and leave. I gathered my things as I went to the front while he said over and over, "ok lady fine I will do it for you" like I was asking for something outrageous. I was apologetic to the only 3 people in the place, I literally have the simplest nail style of all time. I said no and went to pay, then a teenager who who works there came over and asked what happened. I showed her the picture of what I wanted, which is what I walked in with, and that he said yes and had told the manger that he could do it. I told her I wanted powder dip not gel or acrylic. I said I don't expect anything for free, but I don't have time to redo this. She was very sweet and apologetic and said that he just doesn't understand. She had another tech quickly paint yellow on top of whatever the guy had put on my nails, while he complained loudly on the phone behind me. They charged full price. I paid it. 3 strikes, you're out. No wonder the place is empty. read more

Long overdue review for my favorite nail spa! I have been a customer at MD for 2+ years. And I can't think of any unpleasant experiences. Everyone at the Hualapai location has been so friendly, skillful, and wonderful to be around! Besides the wonderful staffing, I actually have met the owner of MD nail spas. The male Vietnamese medical doctor (M.D.)/owner was down to earth, and modest for all of his accomplishments. I also really appreciate the office manager, Nick for his efficiency, diligence, and professionalism! Efficiency is a huge variable, but what is equally important is the cleanliness of the spa. I love how CLEAN & immaculate the spa is. During CV19, MD politely asks the incoming customers to wash their hands. I have seen the staffs sanitize the pedicure chairs, after the customers are done w/ their appointments. I also have seen the nail technicians opening up sterilized nail tools packet, in front of the customers. Overall, I have been a satisfied & happy client, and look forward to my next pampering pedicure. My new favorite pedicure is the ".... flexology."
