STAY AWAY . I never write reviews but this by far was the worst experience I have ever had with a business. It is worst company ever do not use them for water extraction/ clean up, they can clean up water but can't finish a job if their life depended on it. Different workers every day (no one know who did what) took over 4 months to finish a 1 bedroom condo ! said they were ordering special parts and came with ply wood , their painter painted like a second grader, they took all the wrong measurements, hung our cabinets crooked , came late and left early. what a huge waist of time! if yelp had 0 stars they would get it. We are beside ourself in the lack of qualified workers they have. The project coordinator tells you she has their "best" carpenter coming and he doesn't even bring a level to see that he hung the cabinets crooked! read more

I had chosen MD Restoration for a flood damage. The first company I called didn't even return it. And that's after a second call. This company had a lot of good reviews so I thought I couldn't go wrong on this one. Wrong! First, they did a pretty lazy job on the painting of the cabinet doors. They did not even remove the handles before painting. As a result an area around the handles were barely coated. You can clearly see the color of the original paint. Then on the floor boards, you can clearly see the original paint color as there was only a thin single coat of paint. If you're going to paint a coat of a lighter color, you should give it a second coat. Further, the this primer coat really needed a second coat due the inconsistent coverage. Also, there were paint drips on the floor and on the surface of the door. You would think that a professional would take a wet cloth and wipe those before they dry. The result is white paint drips on a non-white door. Although I was able to scrape off the paint on the floor, the paint on the grout could not be removed completely. That's because the grout absorbs the paint. Second, the vinyl flooring showed areas where there were inconsistent lines. It looked like the guy cut the line incorrectly. The caulking, being white, really highlighted the incorrect cut. And the vinyl tile was cut crooked where it meets the non-vinyl flooring. My question is why do they require you to have an asbestos testing be done on the flooring before repairs when all they do is lay the vinyl flooring on top of the old flooring? This testing is very expensive, by the way. I felt like I wasted money just for that. If they're going to lay flooring, they should remove the old flooring or ask the customer if he or she would like it removed. I would have chosen to remove it. Because they had the floor tested you'd think they'd be removing it. Right? Third, there were delays that made the whole project longer than expected. I understand that there are I foreseeable events in other projects but to not call for a long time and then not get a response from your calls promptly is just not excusable. Fourth, the workers of this company produced a lot of noise not from the actual work but from their blasting music. You would think there was a party going on. Fifth, the customer service is lacking in this company. You get the impression that this is a no frills answer the call and then get back to work kind of place. I will not be calling this company for my restoration work again. I would give this company a D. Hopefully next time I get better luck choosing a restoration company. You can be sure I'll be doing some serious research next time beyond Yelp's reviews. I should have paid heed to the two negative reviews instead. You can't leave such expensive procedures simply to reviews. Well, lesson learned. read more

First it took them over 2 half weeks to make it to my unit, then they had to come back for 3 days, because they kept missing crap, even though I wrote the manager and told him EXACTLY what his team did not finish or fix/clean. Bought 2 Groupons from this company and they would not honor the second Groupon. They said it was one Groupon per address. I told them that was not what the fine print said, and they said "well that is what we meant". The manager would not take my calls and the cleaner who came to my house was rude and yelled at me. 1) The adjuster, Brittney, attempted to charge for work hours not done; 2) I left her numerous messages pertaining to a possible additional expense which I may have to pay so that their separate contractor can complete the job. They provided an estimate of $300+ for a job that actually costs $150.; 3) It took several requests to get documents for the job, and when I did get documents through e-mail only. 4) They do return calls promptly when you want to make payments. read more

I too bought through Groupon, what a great deal! Booking the appointment was super easy and the receptionist(Ashley) was really helpful and polite. We even got a courtesy reminder the day before with a brief introduction of the technician over the phone, can you say good business practices. Especially because there going to be in your home. We had Pa'alani come to our home and do our carpets, he did an awesome job!!! He did three rooms and stairs, the carpet looks better then when we moved in. I got a Groupon for carpet cleaning for 400 square feet. Of course, the area that needed cleaning was larger, so Joe Smith, the person they sent me, measured and charged a very nominal fee extra. Joe was polite, friendly, and diligent. The carpets looked great. I should have asked for Scotch-Guard, but I didn't. Anyway, the price was reasonable, so I was surprised when they sent me cash back in the mail, saying I had paid too much. Very impressive, honest, hardworking people. read more

I've used a lot of carpet cleaners on Oahu over the years and I do think MD is definitely one of the best. Their price is very fair for the job that they do. Powerful truck mounted cleaners are the only way to go and they use the right products for the job. I could not have asked for a better tech than Kaulana. I don't usually write reviews but I also don't usually have as bad of an an experience as this company provided... first they scheduled me when they already had another customer scheduled so they had to call back and reschedule. then on the day i was scheduled (for a noon appointment because I explain to the lady I work at night) they started calling me at 9:30 in the morning to see if they could come earlier. I didn't answer assuming they would just come at my schedule time, instead they kept calling. i went outside for a run since i was now awake and THEY WERE SITTING IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE! I called the store and explain to them I don't appreciate the harassment... she said the earlier appointment had canceled and they were just trying to start early. I said one phone call would've been sufficient for and being outside my home is not appropriate, I asked them to leave and come back at the schedule time. when all is said and done they arrive short of the equipment they needed to complete the work although again I told them about the situation when I booked the appointment so all this was for nothing. they can call me four times to try to come earlier to convenience them selves but cannot call me once as a follow-up to apologize for the experience I had! Our office had a bad flood, we called our Building Maintenace person who saw the damages and immediately notified the flood specialist (MD Restoration). They came prepared, ready and worked efficiently. After removing most of the water they set up their large fans and told us they would be back in 2 days. MD Restoration did come back in 2 days, they checked the walls and floors and stated it was still damped and decided to leave the fans for another 2 days. When we got the "all clear" sign they took all their equipment and assisted us to put all of our funitures back. They were very heplful, nice and friendly. I have used this company twice....both with groupons. The first time they did a great job and cleaned 223sq.ft. of carpet in bedrooms and a 75sq.ft. area rug(the total of both are under their advertised 400sq.ft. limit) for the groupon price of $59. The second time they charged me another $78.53 on top of the $59 groupon special for the same area rug stating that the special groupon price is not for area rugs even though it is under their sq.ft. limit. STAY AWAY. AWFUL. HIred to do water extraction after pipe leaked. They "vacuumed" water out of carpet then left a De-Humidifier running for 5 days. They never lifted the edge of the carpet to run fans underneath to dry out the padding. Tried to tell me that I had to cut out the drywall. Told them that was not going to happen, but they insisted thinking that I have never dealt with leaks and wet carpet and drywall before. Maybe they were trying to "pad" the bill. Project managers never call back. Technicians have a different story than the project managers. I was told by the technician that they would be removing the de-humidifier even though no one came to check on carpet condition for 3 days. read more

Knowing what I know now, I would never have used these guys. Water removal for a damp carpet was almost $1700.00. They say they can't provide an estimate...they poke holes in your walls and then want to charge you more to fix them. Then they left the carpet dirty. I am required to have my rugs cleaned when moving out of my apartment so I jumped at the Groupon to have 400sq feet cleaned for only $60 (originally $120). I called the company and left a message and someone returned my call within 2 days to set up an appointment- I got exactly the day and time I needed. Our rug cleaner from the company, Pa'alani Woods, came on time and was very friendly and patient when I had to figure out where he could park at our complex. He was very understanding about me only wanting to pay for what the Groupon voucher covered and measured the sq feet of the two rooms I wanted cleaned- he even cleaned the short hallway between them for free! He arrived, set up, washed 400+ sq feet, and packed up all in 45 minutes. I was shocked at how friendly and efficient he was. Before he came my carpeting was not pretty- I've lived here over three years and it was while I was in college, frequently throwing parties where drinks and food were spilled all over the place. I also have cats who often made a mess on the carpets as well. Pa'alani cleaned everything- I swear you could never tell we threw parties or have pets! If I ever live in a place with carpeting I will certainly be calling this company- specifically Pa'alani Woods, again!! read more
