The above apartment had a water leak after a snake was used, it punctured a hole in the pipe. A yelp review from my Aunty A: A relative's condo unit was recently flooded, among several others in the building. The AOAO advised that MD Restoration (MDR) had started restoration work in the building & could be contacted. I called MDR & it assigned Yonell, Dee & Horace to do the dry out/mold prevention. They were all a pleasure to work with. On day 1, Yonell set up fans, explained the drying process & answered questions about the process. Dee was responsible the next 5 days that included setting up more equipment, drilling holes in a ceiling & installing drain tubes. MD Restoration came right out and got us set up with fans. Ches was always on time, courteous, and explained the whole process so we knew what to expect. read more

The good: at midnight, when rain was pouring into the house and flooding the kitchen, someone answered right away and a tech came out within an hour to take readings and set up dehumidifiers. All the techs and customer service were prompt and friendly. The mitigation cost was $1477. That included techs following up daily to check humidity levels. It wasn't cheap, but it was an emergency, and I feel that price was ok. The bad: if you are not paying with insurance, be prepared to feel really ripped off and maybe look into doing disinfecting yourself. The fee just for disinfecting (which was basically spraying and coating the affected floor and drywall) maybe a 30 square foot area was $1900. It took the tech about half an hour. They also didn't get to the disinfecting stage for one week, which meant it was difficult to use our kitchen. This cost did not include ripping out the flooring and the drywall, which I separately paid my contractor to do. read more

My condo unit flooded and MD Restoration came to my rescue within 30 minutes from when I made the call! They were "TOP GUN" from beginning to end! First team came and did their magic by inspecting and analyzing the entire situation. They also worked very well with my insurance company! After the inspection, The DRYING team did their magic and installed the necessary equipment to "dry out" the affected areas. They were always kind and considerate and gave exact times and dates for the drying process. This process took about 6 days. Shortly thereafter, Paul came by to inspect the completed work and immediately started taking measurements as well as analyzing what needed to be removed, repaired and ultimately restored! He worked closely with my insurance agent ensuring that everything would go smoothly. Paul was very compassionate and understanding and very knowledgeable! Paul was at my place for about an hour. Brandy was the BEST! She sent a large selection of flooring and cabinetry to choose from and PATIENTLY worked with me as I had to make decisions in a timely matter. Also, she kept me informed of the length of time it would take gathering all the necessary materials and completing my condo. She was sincere with my choices as well accommodating to my work schedule. This process took a few weeks due to MY decision making. Brandy quickly responded to all my questions and concerns. The FLOORING team (Rudy, Grant and company) removed and cleaned out all the necessary items that couldn't be saved! They were thoughtful throughout the entire time including cutting the flooring, vacuuming the sawdust, keeping the noise level to a minimum and always kept me informed of their progress! This process took two days to complete. The FINISHING team (Lance and company) came and installed the baseboards, cabinetry, paint as well as return items, including closet systems and doors to its original place. Again, they were efficient and informative and always kind. They asked and always checked with me if there was anything out of the ordinary including painting the walls, and baseboard differences (color, etc.). This process took one day! Overall, MD RESTORATION is AWESOME!! Every team member involved was compassionate, efficient and most of all accommodating! I am a 1000% satisfied customer and HIGHLY recommend MD RESTORATION! It has taken me a while to get here, but I'm here. I had an unfortunate flooding incident late 2020, that REQUIRED me to call MD Restoration. The team was dispatched and arrived in a flash. I say "team" because that is exactly who showed up. At least four vans and 5 or 6 guys. (There were so many people and I wasn't thinking straight.) They immediately assessed the situation and went straight to work. Water was vacuumed up and dryers were put in place. Over the next week, while my place was drying out, I was in constant contact with Troy Chikazawa, the project manager, and the mitigation team; Mike & Kaysen, via text, phone and email. They checked in on me and my place every day to make sure mitigation was going smoothly. They were very professional, as any questions I had during mitigation were answered to the best of their knowledge, and if an answer could not be given, one would be sought out. Troy and I discussed the restoration plans and we tweaked it so that it suited me and my needs. (I opted out of some things.) I was not pressured into making ANY unnecessary repairs. Time to make the repairs. I half expected a half-a$$ job because I've been burned before. This was not the case. Andy was extremely professional. Paper was put down on the floors, he covered up things so they didn't get damaged/painted over. He was very meticulous and made sure he did the job correctly and to the standards of the company. While we waited for the paint to dry, between coats, we had a nice chat. Everyone and everything MD Restoration did for me was top shelf and they are Aces in my book. For those who wrote negative reviews, communication is a two way street. Pay respect and be respected. I thought I was impressed by that huge carpet cleaning machine in the van that heats water up to a boiling point and sends that through hoses into your home and the super suction power that sends all that dirt and grime back to the van. We had a leak in our wall whenever it was windy and rainy. MD restoration came and gave an estimate for what it would take to find the leak. They had to open the ceiling and spray water from the outside to find the leak in our concrete wall. They don't do exterior waterproofing, so I had to find another contractor to do the job. Afterwards, they closed everything up and put everything back together again. Everything was done in a professional and meticulous fashion. I would not hesitate to use them again. Our rental apartment suffered water damage in the ceiling from a leak from the apartment above. MD Restoration responded immediately and their technician Yonell showed up within the hour to assess the damage and set up equipment to begin the drying process. The storm that hit the islands just recently at the end of January had quite the power. On the evening of January 30th an apartment I have been living in since 1967 actually had brain damage coming in through a window. It was the most frightening and unnerving evenings ever in my universe. About a decade prior I had reached out to MD restoration for a neighbor I was on the board of our condominium and she needed help they came in moments got the job done and all was well. This event a decade later was no different than that day. On that evening of January 30th I emailed MD restoration letting them know what had happened in the apartment and for them to call me the following day promptly the next day Andy called made an appointment was on time came out looked at the event after the fact and already started the remedy for my apartment, my home. D e e and RT appeared soon after that put a dehumidifier in and yeah it had to run for 24 hours a day in order to get out all the moisture that had collected in the wall and my carpet. They were professional and despite the situation and state of mind I might have been in they brought a bit of sunshine with them they brought aloha the truth be known. The dehumidifier needed to run from Friday and was just removed today which is February fifth. D e e came everyday to check the dehumidifier make sure that the dehumidifier was pointed in the right direction and the numbers were coming down. I also would get a report via email of what was done on that day, I don't know who you use but normally customer service these days lack these small services to their customers MD restoration does not they cover all their bases and make the customer comfortable and keep them abreast of whatever is happening. As far as that part of my getting my home back in original or better shape I'm just waiting for the billing. A few months ago I contacted them for mitigation and repair due to heavy rains we had on Oahu. While their initial response was timely, I have not heard from them since. I made multiple calls, texts, and emails to the assigned project manager, B.N., as well as the company. To date, I have not received a response. Of course this is undesirable, but it's even more frustrating when they identified mold in my baby's bedroom and we've had to move her out for months to be sure she's safe. At the very least, have the professionalism to contact us and tell us you can't get to the job in the timely manner. We wasted months trying with them and had to find another company. I seriously doubt we'll ever make another attempt to work with this "5 star" company again. read more

They quickly dispatched a representative to our apartment for a consultation. Yonell showed up and let me say she was absolutely awesome! She walked us through the process step by step and began her assessment. She explained everything she was doing and what sort of mitigation would be needed. She was professional and extremely empathetic to our situation and still managed to laugh and joke with us, as we all know sometimes there's nothing you can do but laugh at a bad situation. We had a leak with the upstairs bathroom toilet at our rental house that damaged the ceiling in the lower bedroom, upon inspection it looked like the leak must have been ongoing for a while as it looked like there was mold in the ceiling. Good thing this bedroom was unused, so I quickly left and closed the window and door to this bedroom so that no one could enter. (informed our tenants to not enter that room) I then called MD Restoration and I am so happy that I did. From day 1 till the finish date, all the employees at MD Restoration has been very friendly and helpful. I first worked Ryan Abe who is one of the Project manager and he came down to do the inspection for mold and it was determined that it was indeed mold. Ryan has been awesome, he is polite, and professional and he answered all my questions (I had tons of questions LOL), and always responded back to me very quickly. Ryan kept me up todate via email/phone and also provided photos of his inspections so I would know what was going on I then worked with Rey Sacro who is also a project manager who setup the Mold Extraction and demo work. Rey has also been a great person to work with as he too has been responsive to my questions and has followed up on the work of his crew. I would like to acknowledge the MD Restoration Crew for their great work. Christopher Ruesga who was the restoration technician who cam out to do the mold extraction and demo work. Chris was very polite and professional and he did a great job, he was very respectful to or tenants and took very good care of his entry way and work space, by laying protective plastic on the carpet/flooring so that he would not dirty or scratch the flooring. he then sealed up the room very well so that not only was the room safe, but also the surrounding areas outside of the room were also safe. Once he was done he took care of the work area and traffic areas to ensure all was clean. once the plumbing was fixed, we also used MD Restoration to do the final repairs. I would Like to give a shout outto Anthony Luis who was the Construction Tech. and his crew members for doing a fantastic job, the repair work came out flawless, at the end when I went down to check out the final repairs, I couldn't believe what I saw, looking at the repairs I could not tell where the repairs were done as everything seemed to be a perfect match and the blending of the new into the old was perfect. Again like Chris, Anthony was sure to lay down flooring protective material on the entry ways and work areas to keep the area clean, he and his crew did a fantastic job. Before they left they ensured that the areas thy walked and worked were all cleaned up and spotless. Our tenants were also very, very happy with not only the fantastic work MD Restoration did, but also by how great they were as individuals. I want to give a shout out to Brandy Sacro as well who is the Constructions Superintendent, she kept me updated daily and always sent me pics of what was done each day to keep me posted on what was going on. I will say this, MD Restorations made this entire process for me so easy and worry free, this is the first time I had to deal with something like this and at first I had a lot of questions and worries as I didn't know what to expect, But they quickly put me to ease.
