They have two shuttles running every half hour to the American dream mall today then a short walk to the met stadium All included in room price. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. I asked for extra pillows and towels they were all there. There's a restaurant on site and they give you a coupon for a discount for dinner. The breakfast buffet is there. Worth the price. Please tip. The staff was nice. But the ice machine on our floor was out and I didn't "travel " to get some so I went without. The fridge in the room was a good size. Whomever picked the music for the lounge needs a raise. - Martin, everley brothers, Sinatra, Frankie Vallie, 60's slow Motown, Tony Bennet Tom Jones, And my wife's / Mrs. yelp's favorite- Elvis. With the occasional 70's tune. Stayed here the night before the Jets game (don't Judge) a birthday gift from Mrs Yelp. We pulled into the hotel at 3 (very clean rooms BTW) went down to the bar @4 for a decompression drink after 7hrs on the road and stayed for dinner. The whole ambiance/lighting/food screams old Little Italy., and sorta like old Rat pack Vegas. The service was excellent. Thank you Aggie. The whole experience was immensely enjoyable. I guess should mention the food. My wife's pork chop was excellent.. I should know I had some. I had fettuccine Alfredo- also very good, very creamy. Menu is "Italian" Italian not American Italian. So I booked a room for 2 days and booked another room for another 2 days. After my first 2 days I came downstairs to check out at 12. Then asked them to hold my bags so I could go shopping till check in at 3pm for my next room. They said no because they were at full capacity. Then they helped the family after me and checked in their bags so they could go run errands before check in. I don't know if it's because I'm young and alone or if the family had a handicap person. It's a dated hotel. Everything looked clean. We stayed here for a concrete at MetLife. Very convenient location and their shuttle brought us to the mall near the stadium. They were not available after the concert however and UBERS were $500-$100. The breakfast seemed good, until I bit a piece of bacon that tasted rancid. I stopped eating after that. As a family of 4 visiting Manhattan on vacation, I came across this hotel. After deciding prices in NYC were too expensive, we opted for staying here in Secaucus, which is just across the water. Being so close, there are many options of transportation to get into the city. Driving in, ride share, water ferry, bus or train. Once we realized the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to the Secaucus train junction, there was no question, just convenience! The hotel is slightly dated, but taken care of, rooms are decent size, parking is FREE, there's an Italian restaurant attached to the hotel, or a few other food options within walking distance, and complimentary breakfast each morning, and the shuttle that runs morning until late night..just put your name on the list! I'd def recommend for any families looking to save some money. read more

My family spent a night at this hotel as a pit stop during our travels to OBX. It was perfect. Right off the highway and close enough to NYC that we were able to sight see during our stay! I researched ALOT of hotels in the NYC area in preparation for this trip and was very happy with our choice. The affordable nightly rate, free parking and free breakfast were fabulous huge factors for us, but the complimentary hotel shuttle was the icing on the cake. We took the 12 minute train ride into Penn Station from Secaucus, which couldn't have been easier. The shuttle was able to bring us to and from the station. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful during our stay as well. The hotel rooms were clean and spacious. We were also pleasantly surprised by the beautiful view of NYC skyline we had from our room! The only reason I didn't give the hotel a 5 star is because the rooms were a bit dated and none of the ice machines worked. So I had to sit and think a bit whether I wanted to give them a four or five, but decided they deserve the five. I grew up in New York but now live in San Francisco, but growing up never thought I'd have anything to do with Secaucus with the exception of going to the occasional event at the Meadowlands -- but certainly not staying in this town (sorry, locals!). But tonight, at Newark Airport, United screwed up royally and had to rebook all the passengers on next-day flights -- but, I gotta say, provided very good customer service with a hotel, food vouchers, and rideshare transportation to and from the hotel. They gave us three hotel options, at least by the time I got the voucher (sent by text), I don't know if there were other options earlier that other passengers grabbed and sold out. One was this hotel, which was the closest to Newark Airport, the 2nd was double the distance away, and the third was even further beyond that. No big-name, fancy places in the mix. Reviews on Yelp for all three of them weren't the best, but this place got the least amount of negative and several positive and the other two had absolutely horrible reviews, and, with that, and being the closest to the airport, this had to be the one. From the outside, not much to talk about. Then there's the lobby, also not much to talk about. However, the two fellows at the front desk were absolutely wonderful and pleasant and professional. Although I asked for a room on the top floor, which I generally like, they were completely sold out on floors 3 and above, so could only give me a room on the second floor -- but, in this scenario, beggars can't be choosers! Well, got off the elevator...and it was like a different hotel! They must have just redecorated and I was actually very impressed. It smelled new and it looked very clean. Then I got into my room...same thing! Looks like it's just been renovated not too long ago, extremely clean, very good beds, very white sheets, a fairly good-sized room, and nice bathroom, no terrible smells. I do have to say, I don't know if every single room on every single floor has gotten this treatment, but definitely at least on the second floor. So you might want to ask the front desk about that. Sorry, don't mean to be acting so surprised about this hotel, but, you know, expectations -- and they surpassed them. Don't get me wrong, this is not a Hilton or a Hyatt or whatever, but they have done a very nice job in the hallways and rooms and, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would have no problem staying here again, here in Secaucus! Was in town for a family surprise party. We had wonderful experience at the hotel. We had the party in the restaurant & catering facility attached to the hotel. Clean & comfortable rooms. ( Bed was extremely comfortable) Breakfast was available in the restaurant with vouchers given at check in. Full breakfast buffet. If in the area and need to stay over, would definitely stay again. Can I just say that my stay here was absolutely one of the most pleasant experiences I had staying at a hotel? We were here for nearly a week as we explored New York City and visited with relatives, and they made every day of the stay an absolute pleasure. They had the convenience of a shuttle to take you anywhere within their little neighborhood, which conveniently included the local transit that would take you straight downtown. They do offer a Colonial Breakfast, and it stands as the one thing I had to complain about. I mean, it comes with unlimited bacon, so it had to be great, right? Wrong. The sausage here was terrible, and tasted like lightly flavored meat paste squeezed unceremoniously into a tube. The Bacon wasn't cured so much as INFUSED with salt, the Orange Juice wasn't sweet and tangy, it was bitter and angry. (If you live in Ireland or have ever been, it's like their Orange Juice... utterly disappointing). Literally, everything they had there that wasn't basic bread, pancakes, or waffles was just a screaming disappointment. It's also worth noting that the staff who were responsible for this accouterment seemed utterly disgusted at having to deal with something so mundane. Don't blame this on the hotel as a whole though, this restaurant is in the building but clearly run by other management who put them in charge of this tragedy. That being said, the rest of our stay was utterly fantastic. The staff were friendly and engaging and eager to help us out in any way we desired and were always quick to let us know how they could help when we ran into an issue. We didn't bring up the continental breakfast to them as we knew there was exactly nothing they could do, and it was free with the rooms. So while I cannot under any circumstances advise that you partake of their continental breakfast, I will say that this is an absolute choice location if you're visiting New York City. read more

The Meadowlands Plaza Hotel was an okay hotel. It was older and the rooms lacked simple upgrades that would in my opinion make the stay better. The rooms were spacious but very outdated. Super small tv, about the size of my work monitor but it was hanging on the wall. Having a microwave and fridge in the room was a great convenience. There were not a ton of functional mirrors in the room. So no where to sit and do your makeup or hair. The floors had super old carpet on them. As clean as the room was I just imagined the carpet being filled with germs. Carpets in hotels never seemed functional to me. Harder to clean on a consistent basis. Bathroom tiles and grout needed to be cleaned and or replaced. The cleaning staff does a great job with the upkeep of the rooms, but no one on the housekeeping staff spoke English so it was tough to request anything without going downstairs because Our phone was unplugged in the room. I saw comments about the comforters in previous reviews our comforter was a standard white Cotton comforter so it wasn't too bad and the bed was super comfortable, we got great sleep. We had a room near the highway and it was soo loud. Soo loud that I thought our window was open! I could hear every truck, honk, literally everything. Surprisingly it may have acted as some sort of white noise effect because we slept great but if you are sensitive to sound you would probably be miserable. Breakfast was great it was offered by the connecting restaurant. Pancakes, sausage, pastries, bananas and juice. You could not take anything from breakfast. There was a sign beside the bananas stating that you could not take one to go. Front staff was okay, not overfly friendly but not rude either. Location was great, very close to the MetLife Stadium and close enough to drive into the city. Plenty of local food places within close distance. All in all I would give the hotel 3 stars! Nothing amazing but nothing awful. I wouldn't stay here again because of the carpet and tiles BUT if those things don't bother you, it would be a nice weekend option If you are in the area. read more

This is very much a 3 star hotel. I guess hotel prices certainly have gone up over the years but For 230 a night its quite expensive... the tv was so small inside. The room looked very dark and old.. Furniture was chipped. Bed creaked.. However the good rating though is the customer service there. Everyone was extremely pleasant and that made the stay somewhat worth it. OMER KILIC 05/01/1999 80 RANDOLPH AVE I booked this hotel from 28th october to 29th october I have been charged 700$ for just 1 night by this hotel. Firs I had been charged 300$ when I am checking in(100$ hotel fee + 100$ deposit + 100$ mistake), and while I was checking out telling the problem, the receptionist guy charged me 400$ more when he tried to fix the problem. He told me he did mistake and the money is gonna come back in 7 days. I am asking, if the money was gonna come back, why did he charge me 400$ at that moment, which I may need that money for my expenses immediately. I am tourist and guess it is not good to lose acces to your 600$ for 7 days!!! Also the service I have received was inadequate. Hot water wasn't working and wifi wasn't working as well. The receptionist guy were being rude saying very bad words like shit and keep blaming me that I don't get it at all. I entered hotel with 4000$ balance in my bank account and I left hotel with 3300$ balance left in my bank account. The receptionist person didn't fix problem when checking out, in opposite he charged me 400$ more extra and all he said that the money is going to come back to my account in 7 days. His attitude was really disturbing and frustrating, because I can't speak English very well, he kept blaming me that I don't get it anything which I believe I was discriminated and exposed to racist attitude. I stayed here overnight after attending a concert at MetLife in East Rutherford. Just 6 minutes away (in regular-non-Beyoncé/JayZ-traffic) the location was extremely convenient and hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating. We arrived to check in around 4pm and were helped by Spyridon(?) right away. (Yes, that was his name and yes we bonded over life with unique names! Lol) Once we got upstairs to the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of space. I don't know what I was expecting, but although it wasn't five star, I wasn't disappointed. After being upstairs about 10minutes, the front desk called up to make sure everything was okay with us and the room, which was very nice. In the morning, we partook in the continental breakfast, in the Restaurant downstairs, which was meh, but hit the spot. FYI: I don't eat pork and bacon/sausage were the only meat options, but I just loaded up on carbs instead. Checkout was super smooth and overall it was a great experience. I checked into hotel at 1730 on aug 5 to see a show at met life stadium.We entered the room and the room was hot cause no air condition was on.We put air on and took a shower the bathroom sink had cracks in it and was not in great shape.we left the hotel at 1830 to head to stadium.When we got back to hotel at 0100 the room had a mildew smell and we could not sleep in there.Went to front desk and clerk told me manager and housekeeping gone for the night and nothing he could do.So we checked out at 0130 to drive back to Long Island.I paid 200 for a old run down room that smelled.Shame at the hotel for doing nothing to credit my money back for staying in a smelly hotel for about 3 hours.Will never recommend this place to anyone.Red Roof plus across the street looked nicer read more

I just spent 10 days at this hotel while working at the Javitz center in NYC. Our company frequently rents blocks of rooms as we fly in managers from across the country for tradeshows at the Javitz center. First let's get something straight. This is not a resort or upscale hotel. It is a nine story building with clean and comfortable rooms. They provide a very good breakfast in a adjoining restaurant by voucher. They provide free parking and shuttle service to the immediate area. The beds were very comfortable. We could not hear any road noise with our windows closed. There is no pool but there is a workout room. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Short ride to NYC by car or Park and Ride Bus service. Great views from the ninth floor. read more

The good: -One stop away from Penn Station on NJ transit (Secaucus). -Free shuttle service to train station. -Breakfast included -Clean The bad: -Tiny TV in room and very far away from bed (was advertised as flat screen, wasn't) -Could hear through the walls -Not allowed to have breakfast in your room (food sucked anyway) -Electric sockets weren't working (Thought I charged my phone, didn't work) -Shuttle takes your name for a 'reservation' but doesn't check to see that you actually made it onto the shuttle or verify that you are indeed the correct person -Hotel staff prioritized customers on the phone while I was standing right in front of them trying to hand them a credit card. -You get what you pay for, this is not a nice hotel, its a place to crash for a few hours that is close to NYC without breaking the bank. You should be able to get a room for $99. The shuttle will also drop you off at the mall or various places around Secaucus. Would never stay here for more than a night out of necessity, but if you need a cheap place to lay your head near NYC for a few hours, sure... read more

I would have to give it a 3/4 just because it was super annoying the wifi kept saying invalid pssword and would kick me off and I was out here for a business trip and was not able to get a lot of work done because of this. Otherwise it is in a very Convenient location with easy access to the highway and ultimately NYC within minutes. The hotel is clean, nothing too fancy, rather utilitarian, which is some thing I enjoy because it tends to keep prices lower for us, the consumer. It had everything i needed for my four day stay but as i said the wifi was questionable. The best thing for me was the air conditioning in the room you were able to lower it to like 50 degrees it was amazing because it was a very hot week in new jersey with humidity. The check in guy was friendly. I would stay here again. Also there were some stores in walking distance which helped as i did not have a car. If you go into this knowing it's an older hotel, you will love it here. The staff is GREAT!!!! The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are quite comfortable as are the towels. The restaurant is really (very surprisingly) quite good and reasonable (yelp it!). The breakfast is good, too. (It's always the same, but the scrambled eggs and home fried chunks of potatoes with onions are fresh, hot, not greasy, and flavorful. There is both bacon and sausage, juice , pastries, and pancakes, too.) There is a nice fitness room, too, and a free shuttle which I took to the train station and others took to the convention center. It's in a convenient location to the convention center--a 5-10 minute drive. Internet is free as is parking. There really were no major "cons" about the hotel except is it older, a little "worn, the heat/air unit is older... and there wasn't hot tub. Would I stay here agin? The room smells like cat piss and we got 2 rooms one double queen , other king... Both were said to be non smoking but when entered it was full of smoke. Other best thing is Air conditioner sucks and had to wait for hours to get cooled. And additionally it is broken , reported it to front desk but nothing was taken care. There front desk people are as gracious as homeless people who talk decent . I saw the reviews and felt it is one of the good hotels but it is quite opposite. When I was at front desk I saw a couple having same complaints and they wanted to have another room but same answer we don't have any rooms availability and we can't refund. They had to call hotels.com to cancel because front desk folks doesn't give Damm about ur concerns. Please avoid to be ashamed. They ask details , id of each person getting to the room then y don't they have good rooms. We see pubic hair in the bathroom tub when we first entered . The sink doesn't allow water to flow. Run down hotel, dirty rooms and bathrooms that you would rather not use. Certainly not what I expected. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and would have left earlier if not for the fact that we were having a business meeting at the hotel.This hotel certainly didn't project the image that we would have wanted for our customers. On the bright side, the Italian Restaurant that was connected to hotel called La Reggia Ristorante was excellent and we ate there twice for lunch and once for dinner. It was also a catering venue, was under different ownership and it was absolutely the best part of our stay. Here is a list of things that my family experienced at the Meadowlands Plaza Hotel: - After checking in as a group the night before, woke up to find out there would be an extra $15 charge per person per night. - Scheduled a lift on the free shuttle service. Shuttle was late. - My family boarded the shuttle, was seated on the shuttle for 15 minutes, was asked to exit the shuttle. - Waited in line at the service desk to make sure that we had scheduled our ride (we had.) - Called the hotel a half hour early to schedule a pick up at the train station. Was told to call from the train station and a shuttle would be there in 10 minutes. - Called from the train station, was told we were on the list and the shuttle would be there shortly. - Called back a half hour later, was told there was no record of our reservation, and the shuttle was making other pickups, would be there as quickly as possible. - Came back to the hotel, our room keys (4) wouldn't work. Had to go to the front desk and get new keys - Opened our room to find that it had not been serviced at all. - Went to the manager to list these complaints, the manager (while nice) told us there was nothing she could do for us in regards to our stay. read more

My stay hasn't even begun and it's already turning into a nightmare. First off, ALWAYS CALL THE HOTEL TO TRIPLE CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION IF YOU BOOKED THROUGH A THIRD PARTY SITE! We booked through hotel/expedia.com for 2 queen beds with 3 occupants, just you be told a week before our stay that the rooms are only for 2 occupants & a third person would be $15 extra per day. This was never stated upon booking and only came up because I called and asked specifically for any additional fees that may come up during checkout, on top of the fact that my Reservation confirmation email said my fiancé's name plus 2 ppl as proof. We were quite upset to say the least. I wound up with the "manager" Harold who's arrogant attitude did nothing AT ALL to help. Considering that we are about to give $600 of our hard earned money, at the very least I expected a better outcome besides his "not my problem" approach & no effort to find a solution. He literally put the phone down TWICE to make a mockery with his employees in an attempt to ignore me. WHO DOES THAT??? Then said "he didn't want to waste any more of my day on this" HA! No. You just didn't want to do YOUR JOB which is the handle an upset customer accordingly. So now, instead of finding a solution to this $75 dillema that wasn't our fault, your hotel won't get a dollar of our business and your out $600. You can thank your employee of the month there Harold for this review today. I don't know what's up with these bad reviews but I just recently had a great stay here. Got a good deal on Hotwire for a hotel room, paid $100 including tax and ended up with a room at this hotel. The staff was accommodating. We received a breakfast voucher, my gf and I for a buffet style breakfast in the Italian restaurant located in the lobby. We got to the room, it was a comfortable size with a pretty comfortable bed. The TV was LG 32'.. Bathroom was pretty big, everything was clean. Our tv remote wasn't working, we called down to the lobby and we had maintenance at the door in less than 10 minutes with a working remote...... Fast forward next morning, breakfast was great!! They had eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, bagels, and cold cereals... It was great considering it was included with the room. Now I had checked out and left my $500 prescription Gucci glasses behind in the bathroom... I call and speak to the front desk on 3 different occasions. It took me a while to get in touch with housekeeping manager but long story short, my glasses were found and returned and I am very thankful for the lady who returned my glasses I believe she left her name on a note and I read Mary. Thank you Mary the housekeeper who cleaned room 808 on June 7th 2015. I will gladly thank the people who still do good in this cruel world. With that being said, I will gladly stay here again on my next visit home to Jersey. read more
