Beware the bait-and-switch! I scheduled an appointment for my daughter, who is in college, and they told me it would be $59 for cleaning and x-rays. They talked her into doing a "laser" cleaning, and the bill was $200! Not going to support a business that uses deceptive practices like this. This "laser" cleaning was completely unnecessary, and they definitely took advantage of the fact that she did not know any better. I went to Meadows Dental Group last week for a cleaning, exrays, and to have corrective cosmetic work done on my front upper teeth. It was nothing too serious, just the bonding was not the correct color from my previous dentist I had for years in another area. I had moved to Temecula and did not want to drive about 60 miles one way to my other dentist. At Meadows Dental Group, I met Dr. Troy Slade. He is very personable and just did excellent work on my teeth to correct the shade of white. Wow! What a difference that made. Now I feel like I can smile again. Great work! I could sit here and write a fantastic review about Meadows Dental Group, however, it just wouldn't do it justice. Dr. Slade is by far the best dentist I've ever been too. He was so professional, nice and caring. He made me feel so comfortable and at ease. I had an extremely painful tooth ache and after a quick phone call I was able to see him the same day. He worked on the tooth and it felt great after wards. However, during the night it flared up. The following day he saw me the moment I got to his office and he pulled the tooth, it had to be done. The next day, Dr. Slade rang me up personal to see how I was doing. That is far beyond anything I expected and on the subsequent check-ups were nothing short of brilliant. Dr. Slade really cares, that is for definite and the office staff are extremely nice. I could not find one fault with my experience. I am not sure what Maya was talking about but I've had great experiences with Meadows Dental. I was a new patient there a few months ago and I was very impressed with their professionalism. They have the latest and greatest dental equipment and the latest practices. Granted these are expensive but they are totally worth it. They did offer you a wide range of products at varying prices for every budget. They hooked me up with a free upgrade on my crown saving me a boat load of cash. They are really leaning forward to make sure everyone have a painless dental experience. We've struggled for quite some time finding a decent and honest dentist. One that won't gouge you and a hygienist that can handle super sensitive teeth. We had a new patient exam with Dr. Chu and he took the time to talk to us and understand our expectations and needs. Gerald, the hygienist, is extremely gentle and personable. My significant other who has extremely sensitive teeth had a pain free cleaning, which hasn't happened in many years. Just the other day I had their periodontist, Dr Viet put in an implant. After a bad experience with the extraction from another dentist I was highly stressed about it. He and his assistant were very caring and personable and tried to relax me. When he did the work, it was pain free and the pain was all in my head. After several years of bad experiences with other offices, I'm glad we found Meadows. I went in to see Dr. Ivy because I thought I had chipped a cap on one of my front teeth. It wasn't the cap, but my tooth and the best way to proceed was by replacing the tooth with a crown.Well, after I asked a lot of questions and got all of them answered, Dr. Ivy and her Assistant Joycy thought I would be a good candidate for a new smile. I had always been embarrassed of my smile. Being 54, I grew up where braces weren't a financial option for me and I didn't want to wear braces at this stage of my life. Dr. Ivy explained that porcelain crowns would work perfectly for what I wanted to accomplish! She wanted me to sleep on it, but I told her I had been thinking about something like this for at least 30 years and I wanted to do it now! I was literally shaking with excitement! They not only gave me a new beautiful smile, but were able to get the procedure completed earlier than expected so I could take my new smile on vacation with me! Thank you so much Dr. Ivy and Joycy! I absolutely hate going to the dentist so I was so surprised how well my first appointment went for myself and my daughter with the fine folks at Meadows. Gabby and Morgan in the front were very welcoming and helped get my forms and insurance situated. After a short wait, Mariko took my X-rays. X-rays always hurt me but she did an awesome job. As I was waiting for my exam several of the assistants, including Fernanda and Haley, checked up on me to see how I was doing. They even brought me water and a magazine. Joyce was helping clean my daughters teeth. She said she did a great job.... no cavities!!! Dr. Chu is an excellent doctor. He was very polite and professional. I was bummed to find out I had a cavity. Dayna was super helpful in going over all of the financials. Heather and Dr. Chu did an awesome job. The shots didn't hurt and it was over before I knew it. Got my cleaning too. Martina had my teeth looking good as new. I wanted a referral for my daughters braces and Kari, the office manager, was nice enough to take some time to schedule an appointment for her next week. Do not trust this office. If you do decide to go to them...be sure to get a copy of what they have you sign...they will fill out the form on their computer and have you sign an electronic signature pad without explanation of what you are signing...nor will they give you a copy of what you sign....they just tell you to sign...be sure you tell them you want a copy or you will not get one. They are rip-off artists. I needed three crowns...and they pressured me to buy the "inhouse" crowns at more than twice the price of crowns made "out of office"....i refused and ordered the less expensive "out of office" crowns. When they realized they had failed to persuade me to buy the most expensive crowns...the relented and agreed to provide me with the expensive crowns at the cheaper price. I agreed to buy only TWO crowns..not three---as I could not afford to buy THREE crowns They put the crowns on the wrong teeth despite my clear instructions. In doing so, they hoped to force me to buy another crown, which I refused to do. The two crowns were very poorly inserted and now I need to have root canals done on those two teeth...very very painful. They have refused to acknowledge their "mistakes"....and I will never go back to them again. There are many dentists in Temecula....CHOOSE ANOTHER DENTIST!! read more

This is nothing more than a group of con artists ready to take your money. I selected them because they are close by and an approved provider for our insurance. We made appointments for an office visit, x-rays and a cleaning. Conveniently, they booked me for the day the hygienist is off. After 90 minutes of being x-rayed and examined, I was told I had deep pockets in my gums, needed whitening, a tooth bonded and periodontal work! And the ultimate was that I needed a super duper deep cleaning that insurance doesn't cover! The low estimate for the cleaning was $200! The high estimate for the ultimate in cleaning was over $1,500! Seriously? I have NEVER had deep pockets in my gums! Never! I don't need anything but a normal cleaning! Even their periodontist agreed that I do not need perio work. These people are affiliated with at least 2 other dental groups in the area. They will take your DHMO insurance but they will do their best to upsell you to make up for it! They also tried to sell me whitening at a "special price" of $295! I can get the exact same whitening at a salon for $100! Run far away from these people! I paid my $5 co-pay and will NEVER go back! read more

Cheats. I've heard from numerous honest people who have come here and been taken for a ride as numerous procedures are suggested and a sales pitch takes place. It makes me fume! Each patient is nothing more than a walking dollar bill to this Dental group and a good looking dentist and office can only go so far! I have had numerous close friends go in for a routine cleaning only to get nothing. After numerous x-rays the dentist is sent in to suggest major procedures. If the patient says they are not interested at the moment they say that a special type of cleaning is needed (ex. Scaling) which is more expensive, painful and again expensive! I literally know of patients who then leave without a cleaning! I don't know how these people sleep at night, don't they know that not everyone has an employer covering their dental costs and some people actually have to pay out of their pockets!? Suggestions are fine but it is all very strange for this to happen before someone has even gone into the patients mouth! Shameful that this happens in a healthcare facility when millions of Americans cannot afford healthcare/dental care and when they do go they have to be taken advantage of. read more

I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Ivy Cheng today for new patient exam. The check in with Morgan was smooth sailing. I received an informative office tour by Joycy who took great radiographs. After finding that I had no cavities (whew) from the meticulous exam given to me by Dr. Cheng and Fernanda, the rest of the visit went by like a blur. This is an excellent dental office. We loved Dr. Jackson! The front office and finance staff were very friendly and helpful. My son chipped his tooth and we were having a hard time finding a dentist who could get him in that day. They were able to complete his root canal and provide a temporary crown that day. This was a bad choice. I was new to the area, Meadows Dental Group was in my dental plan. Even though I have been going to a dentist every 6 months for years to my shock & disbelief, I was told I needed 6 crowns & have periodontal disease. I have not had any bleeding from my gums & or signs of periodontal disease. estimated cost without insurance was over $10,0000 !!! Beware, you may not even have the same dentist you started with. They rotate to different offices. They all bill under Dr Watanabe & Nguyen. I never met them! Once they start treatment its over, you will need a root canal, (done at a different office) and be surgically treated for periodontal disease &/or laser cleaning. All charges are done immediately on your credit card. They know exactly what your dental plans pays for & the amount left on your account. They will take it all if you let them. Great in the sales & making you feel you really need the dental work, even if you don't. . read more

My family has had nothing but horrible experiences with the dentists at Meadows Dental Group. My 5 year old had kissing cavities that needed fillings. Dr. Troy Slade filled them and in just over a year they have fallen out and have now caused so much more damage that she needs a baby root canal. I would NEVER recommend them. We've had to wait for over an hour for appointments and sometime the staff wasn't even at the front desk to sign us in.. The hygienists took only 15 minutes to clean me and my children's teeth. I find that deplorable. Thank goodness for our former dentist. We are now back with him even though is is 40 minutes away. I would rather spend the money on gas to ensure great care than take my family to a local conglomerate. Dr. Watanabe really needs to take a very good look at her practices. They sure aren't up to snuff by any means. read more

My husband, myself, and my 18 month old son have all been seen as new patients here this past month. Staff is very friendly and warm which seems hard to come by these days. Made us feel like part of their family. All costs were explained up front to us, no surprises. I first discovered Meadows Dental after taking my son there and I had a great experience as the staff was super friendly and attentive. Dr. Chu provided my son with excellent care so I referred several friends who also saw Dr. Mendoza and were impressed. Why the negative review? Well, the day came when I needed a root canal and crown. I saw Dr. Mendoza who provided great care on the crown. I was told that I would need to see their oral surgeon, Dr. Bagheri, for the root canal. On the day of the root canal I ended up seeing another doctor (I wish I remembered his name) who was assisting from another office. This other doctor was more interested in talking with the dental assistant and I feel he lost his focus. He was telling the assistant how he she was one of the best and that she should come work at his office. Also, bad mouthing another doctor (by the name of Dr. Lee) and when the dental assistant asked which Doctor Lee he asked if it made a difference. I don't need to hear this negative banter while on the chair. At one point during their conversation I asked if it was okay to swallow as there was a lot of liquid collecting in my mouth (despite the dental dam). The doctor said it was safe to swallow. It tasted like chlorine but I just sat there waiting for them to be done. That night I ended up at the ER! I started to feel ill around dinner and then vomited and had diarrhea every time I tried to hydrate and it became progressively worse until I thought I was going to collapse. At first, I thought my stomach was upset from taking extra Advil but the ER indicated I had not exceeded that dosage and that putting my on an iv drip was not likely the best solution. They felt it was a stomach issue that could pass in a day and recommended getting on antibiotics. I called Meadows Dental the next morning and Dr. Bagheri called me back a while later to prescribe Amoxicillin. Dr. Bagheri did not want to assume any wrong doing by saying that it was likely shock from a root canal. I've had a root canal once before in the past and never had shock be a factor. I'm still considering whether or not I want to pursue this but in the meantime, I figured it was worth allowing others to hear about my experience. read more

Heck, they might even chase you into the parking lot with "deals". I know 4 separate people who went and all 4 were told they had perodontal disease! In addition to trying to oversell me on higher priced services that may have been unnecessary, I have a senior citizen friend who was charged high rates for services another dentist suggested may have been unnecessary. They also try to push a credit program, possibly similar to the one Frontline on PBS reported on as gauging people. read more
