We sat on the patio and had mimosas. The carafes are only $16 and served 5 people! I split the deviled eggs, biscuits and gravy, and Mother and Child (I think that's what it's called). The dining room offers a surprising intimate feel with dim lighting, offering the diners to see into the open kitchen and to admire the three large stained glass windows. The beer, wine and cocktail lists are extensive offering anyone a flavor that they will love. The menu is small which is typically a good sign that the offerings are good...and as it turns out, they were extraordinary. The chefs are cooking with as many locally sourced products as possible. So first things first... This is some of the BEST food I've eaten in DFW. Probably some of the best I've eaten ever. The food: -Pork Belly & Marshmallow Fluff The pork belly was tender and very flavorful. I was doubtful of the marshmallow fluff, but it rounds out the dish with a delightful texture and slight smokiness. Not one but two waiters suggested we squeeze the provided limes over the pork and we were very glad we heeded their advice. The char on the belly was mostly pleasant but if you didn't plan your bite carefully, it was a bit much at times. Just watch how you cut it. Moth Balls- The following is a snippet of a conversation between my boyfriend and I after each taking a bite: . We were both left speechless. Words cannot describe how delicious these were. We were very close to ordering another round because our ONLY complaint was that there wasn't enough on the plate Salmon Nachos- Very good, but not something I couldn't get somewhere else for a little cheaper. The portion size was very good for the price. A final thought about the food: if you go with just one other person, many of the dishes come with an odd number of "bites" (ie 5 pieces of pork belly, 5 moth balls, etc) so plan accordingly If you have a choice of server, pick Kevin. He is absolutely amazing, fast, and very knowledgeable of the menu. I asked about the sweet tea (of which they have none, but I digress) and he proceeded to describe with an amazing level of accuracy the flavor notes in the tea. Side note on the tea: it is very good with hints of mango and florals. I enjoyed it unsweet. Back to the marvelous Kevin, he sold us on the pork belly, and is overall just a very pleasant person to have a conversation with. I saw some reviews knocking the manager for his attitude, but my interaction with him was quite pleasant. Do with that information what you will. Final note: the restaurant is also just stunning???
