Probably won't be back; didn't do much for me...but all the positive reviews leaves me wondering if we just didn't order the right thing??? So maybe if a friend really wanted to go I'd give it a 2nd shot? Not sure if they have specific menu items they are known for? Maybe I'm a food snob; I've only found 1 Mediterranean restaurant in the KC area since moving here that I would happily return to. I love Mediterranean food (friend's uncle had a Lebanese restaurant growing up), so was excited to try this place (thus earned a star in my book). Interacted with multiple staff, who were all super friendly (worthy of another star). Liked the atmosphere, with indoor & outdoor seating options (3rd star)...but ultimately I go out to eat for the food, which we found disappointing. When the food came, first impression was that the portion size was WAY too much...and in my opinion, this is not the type of food to easily box up, take home, and eat later. I can't remember the last time I left that much food on my plate to go to waste (and at 40lb overweight, I don't eat like a bird, pretty much a lifelong clean-your-plate club member). Would have preferred 1/2 the quantity/volume even if 3/4 the cost (not sure if they've considered 1/2 portions?). What we tried... Hummus - was a little too creamy for my liking, I prefer a little texture, and seemed to be lacking something in the flavor (possibly tahini/lemon juice?). Falafel - pretty bland & tasteless, could not force myself to eat all of them Tabbouleh - ok, but way too much, and not any better than I've made at home Tomato/Eggplant soup? - no desire to keep eating after a few spoonfuls Garlicky Chicken Platter - difficult to eat chicken on the bone (oops, might have had a Pretty Women moment of a piece accidentally going flying, since didn't fall off the bone easily), and garlic potatoes were super oily (would have preferred a little crunch on the outside). Chicken skin had some flavor, but unfortunately didn't permeate into the meat. Never been to another Meddy's, so not sure if this new location is still dialing in the flavor profiles, or if it is consistent with the others. read more

Best Mediterranean food outside of the Mediterranean. Everything fresh, amazing homemade complimentary pita.

Most everything about Meddy's is very good. Food taste freshly delishious. The menu has a wide variety for all tastes. Service has been superb each time I've been here. One thing that I could not deal with is the noise level. The music is played way too loud. Even the live musician outside's sound was way too loud where we found ourselves yelling the whole time we were there trying to have a conversation. Please address this issue by adding acoustics or simply turn the volume down. read more

The food and service were great. But the inside is VERY NOISY - so much so that you can't have a normal conversation across the table without raising your voice (which makes it all that louder, since everyone is doing so). Use the outdoor dining area if you can. It's much quieter. And maybe turn off the music - nobody goes there to listen to piped in music anyway. It might quiet things down a bit. read more

I've dined in AND ordered with the app for carry out. Both experiences were fabulous. The dining in is just the best experience - pita's brought to your table regularly with olive oil/spices, full service bar, delicious interiors makes for such a great ambiance. Meddy's app is one of the easiest to set up and use and when I arrived at the restaurant (early) my order was ready, I didn't have to wait in the line and it was perfect and delicious. I use Meddy's for catering office lunches occasionally. It's always a hit with the staff. The food is fresh and delicious. Portions are generous. The only small complaint I would have doesn't pertain to the food. The parking situation at the Lenexa location is pretty tight and there really isn't enough of it. Also, a marked, designated spot inside the restaurant for picking up takeout orders would be nice. Otherwise, Meddy's is awesome! We love it! read more

Went for the first time Saturday. Somewhat of a line, but it seems constant, and moves fairly quick. Seemed like the delivery was slow. About 20 minutes for our food to be delivered. Our appetizer was delivered with our meals. My entire meal was cold. The meat was cooked completely, but had sit around somewhere quite awhile. Very unappetizing. The other meals were fine. Flagged down a server and asked for a refund. She went and talked to manager. 10 minutes later she walked by and asked if the manager has spoke to me. She had not. Went and talked to her again. The manager came over. Apologized for the situation. Said she had lost our receipt. But would try to find the transaction in the register to correct it. Still no credit against my card. read more

After being there last night, this visit wanted me to let you have after a few weeks ago visit. First visit. I am disabled and need parking close to the door. No parking avail near front door except for pickup and a spot or two with a 30 minute limit. I saw a woman with a Meddys shirt on getting out of a BMW. Thought that she was unloading so I drove around the block hoping that she would only be there a minute. Still not parking nearby, Came back 1.5 hr. later and still there but was able to get a spot closer. Yes I get that parking is a issue . Many stores in Brookside. Where is employee parking for your employees? The 30 minute parking limit signs are meant for customers that are wanting to support your business that pays your rent and employees or is your employees paying your rentOK We go in and order and looking for a booth . All taken but noticed one with that same woman using the booth as her personal desk with papers spread all out. Wow! Booths are prime seating especially for privacy issues or comfort, We went ahead and ordered and the thought went through my head thinking about guests are first. Not in this case obviously. Yesterday we went for dinner, plenty of table avail except a booth that someone just got up. We sat at a table waiting for our food hoping that it would get cleaned right away for the next guest. Well after a while our food finally arrived. So we stayed where we were. Finished our meal and as we were leaving, what do you know but someone came to whipe down that booth after 25 minutes being empty. Several staff members walking around but no one noticed the dirty tables. What were they thinking and how were they trained? Who is managing and making sure that the staff does a quick look or wipe. I am coming into you home. Is that how you would treat a guest? I know in my world "A guest comes first." The food is good but the ambiance has been twice ruined by the staff. The staff got our entire order wrong on our first visit and when they tried to fix it they got it wrong again. We ended up having to leave. We decided to give it a second chance and this time the staff was less than stellar. When we walked in at 8:00 pm the staff was vacuuming by the cash register. They did not stop even when we were ordering. The staff member practically made me move so she could vacuum. The attention to detail is lacking. I recommend going to the location in Prairie Village and skipping Lenexa. Don't waste your time with the rude staff. read more

Visited Meddy's for the first time today, excited for a fresh, new option in Lenexa. Unfortunately it was less than a pleasant experience. The food was meh but would have considered trying it again except for the incredibly rude young lady who took my order who dismissed my question about an incorrect item on my order and couldn't explain what the additional charge was for. At the end of the day and after asking multiple times and her lacking the ability to explain it she finally removed the incorrect charge but not before become incredibly rude and condescending for something that was ultimately her fault. The rest of the staff we interacted with were all very pleasant. Meddy's, consider finding a non-customer facing position for your shift lead Destiny. Because of this terrible experience I won't be back and will be suggesting to my friends and family not to waste their time either. read more
